Extremely unhappy with my experience with penske. I put zero miles on the unit I purchased from penske and asked penske about doing a buy back and was told we don't do buy backs. I paid 35k for the truck and penske could have helped me out by taking the truck back. I would have been okay with losing some money on the buy back. I paid for delivery for the truck and never was made aware that delivery meant someone was driving the truck to me which upset me pretty bad. Needless to say recently I ended up finally using the truck only 3 times locally and my 1st night using it my check engine light came on and the 3rd time I used the truck it's leaking oil. I want out of this truck I want nothing to do with owner. Someone please do something for me to change my mind about my experience with penske.Penske Truck Leasing Co. L.P., Inc.

Penske strives to leave all customers satisfied with their experiences, renting, leasing or purchasing commercial equipment, and we are sorry to hear the frustration Mr. Berstler is experiencing. In the agreement of sale that both parties entered into there was at no point any option for the voluntary rescission of the sale by the purchaser. Penske does allow its purchasers a 15 day notification period to alert us to any condition issues that the purchaser feels did not meet the conditions of the sale. No such concerns were raised in that timeframe. Despite these facts Penske is actively working with the purchaser to explore any amicable resolution to their concerns. -PenskeReview fromJames H.

Scheduled a rental 4 days in advance for a 16ft truck to pick up at Home Depot because they are open on Sundays. Was called on Friday and told they don't have drivers to move trucks over the weekend (although their website claims they guarantee a truck for you). I was told by Catherine they would make arrangements for me to do an after hour pickup at their Evangeline Thruway location on Sunday evening. I called around 10 am Sunday to make sure everything was in order only to be told they didn't have a 16ft truck and it seems Catherine dropped the ball on following through her "promise to have it ready". She gave me her personal cell # in case there was a problem but she did not answer the call or text. I'm guessing because she knew she didn't follow through. Not sure why they allow you to book online to pick up on Sunday if the local store isn't going to do their job to make sure that happens. I will say the first time we rented Kwinci helped get things in order for us to pick up after hours. But on the 2nd rental, even he didn't respond and he's the assistant rental manager.Penske Truck Leasing Co. L.P., Inc.

Hello, my name is Derrick Ha. I purchased a tractor from Penske back in March of this year that was a level 1 but it had a lot of issues. The 7 months I owned it, it broke down on me 3 times and the last one was the worst! The transmission was slipping badly and have serious issues with it. I took it to a mechanic and they found the transmission’s gear changing system broke and the transmission pilot bearing has a lot of movement and was told I will eventually need a new transmission.
I think the company in itself is good but the trucks condition they are claiming to be level 1 is far from it, my truck came with lots of minor issues as well like missing and or broken parts however Penske did took care of those and replaced it. This will be my last time purchasing a used truck from them.Penske Truck Leasing Co. L.P., Inc.

I rented the truck August. The 26th 2023 from the pinski in Saint Petersburg. Florida little did. I know all my things were not safe in the truck doing the storm. IAugust the 28th 2023 yes it rained as well. I go to the back of the truck. Look up end was no roof left on the truck. All of my things Is wet furniture Wash, dryer,cameras was also Damage due to water I went back there to show it to the place where I rented the truck from. They gave me a card and told me someone will get out. And reach out to me. They came out but I haven't heard anything yet, I have. Videos and photos. My penske truck rental experience was HORRIBLE! I was on the side of the road longer than I drove. The truck needed an alignment. The truck shook really bad loaded and unloaded at 30 mph. The truck tires were stepping. I had 2 tire blow outs while moving and had to wait on the aide of Interstate from FL to GA for over 7 hours with a child. I was sleep deprived. I basically begged the 24/7 roadside reps and manager for help. The maintenance inspection on the truck COULDN’T have been done! I burned more gas trying to keep warm on the aide of the interstate verses driving. I asked multiple times to speak with corporate and was declined. I lost money moving as it took a day for me to get to GA. I had to get out on the side of the interstate with a stranger Penske had come to me at 5:30am from my break down at 10pm. It was 30 degrees. I caught the flu my daughter got sick as well. I was basically refused the help I begged for for hours and left stranded with a 10yr old on the side of the interstate in the middle of the night with animals, flying trucks, cold air, raggedy truck, no street lights no exit in site. I lost money on my movers as I was not able to be at the new address at 7am, I lost my hotel stay and had to book an extra day as I had to wait for the movers to come back out with another fee. I lost my sanity, sleep, and now have trouble with anxiety all from renting the truck with Penske. The penske guy even said I was broke down longer than I was driving. I get nervous every time I see yellow now and nights. I am traumatized from this rental. I have never rented from Penske before and WILL NEVER AGAIN. I am so traumatized from this rental truck. I am in therapy. The girl told us they were to put the truck down immediately upon us returning the truck. Thats how bad the issues were. All my recordings. Put $1000 down for a level 1 truck to buy from them and gave them several things that needed to be done before accepting itand they agreed to do it . Rust was supposed to be sanded off and painted. Hole in the floor liner, holes in dash and low on coolant. Rust was painted over and not sanded and rust on cab hasn’t been removed and was told everything would be fixed and after 3 weeks still nothing done and lied to. Refuse to answer calls . Most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They are Telling me now they won’t fix rust on truck or anything and it still idles rough.Penske Truck Leasing Co. L.P., Inc.

Please be so careful buying a used truck from Penske. There are so many issues with the way they do things but the worst is the predatory loans they push you into. Whatever you do please do not use their financing options. They present it like a regular vehicle loan but is actually an equipment lease contract. We bought our box truck for $25,000. They buyout on our loan/contract is $37,000. You cannot refinance or buyout early without paying off the whole $37,000 contract. When the vehicle is really only worth $25,000. Not to mention if god forbid you were to get into an accident and the truck was totalled. Your insurance would pay out the worth of the truck and then you are on the hook for the remainder of the contract. We were stupid and just assumed we were signing a regular vehicle loan. Lesson learned. I just hope these reviews will stop someone else from making the same mistake.Penske Truck Leasing Co. L.P., Inc.
