      If I could give this bank less than one star,I would,it takes forever to speak to an actual human being,you are always guaranteed a wait time of at least half an hour,their app doesn't work at all,after one week of this,I switched to PNC.I can't see how Citizens bank stays in business with so many negative reviews.Worst banking experience ever

      I've had a lot of different banks over the last ******************************************************************************************************* maybe something more malicious.My **** account was bought by **********************, oh they made so many promises, but when it came time to take over the accounts they cut all new customers off from their funds for 4 days. We didn't even know where our money was. Some customers got debit cards but no pin numbers, others got pin numbers but no debit cards. It was impossible to get through to anyone to get assistance. I wonder what they did with our $9 billion for four days!Since that time their website is down more often than it's working, the app goes down for days at a time. It went down saturday only came up this evening, but now it won't let you pay bills for over a week.No-one answers the phone, no-one responds to the chat, even tweeting at them is utterly pointless. Clearly they have no customer service.I would never recommend this bank to anyone. Nobody should consider opening an account here.Am only leaving a 1 star review, because zero isn't allowed.

      They will allow anyone to access your checking account. In the past 2 years, I have had half a dozen issues with unauthorized charges on my account. I had one again today. Anybody who can access your debit card number will be allowed to take any amount of money from your account whether or not you authorized it. The customer service is terrible. The customer service phone number is even worse. I spent 24 minutes on hold today, but the person on the other end doesn't know how to answer a phone and they hung up on me. So I drove to the branch. First, the teller told me that my debit card wasn't showing up. She had to enter everything manually. Then her computer couldn't access my account. It was telling her to contact an administrator. I had to pull up my account on my phone and show it to her.The next time that I get paid, I am going to the ******* down the street and opening an account there. I am sick and tired of ************** allowing just anyone to steal from me.

      Would give 0 stars if I could. I got an account with them to bolster my already good credit. I didn't need the account, I have a bunch of money. There was a problem with the credit card and I had to cancel the card I had on file with them that and because of how many accounts I have, it escaped my attention for a couple months. I'm busy. They didn't email, they never sent a letter. They called from a number flagged as "potential spam" 2 times over that time and never left a message. They never sent an actual message via text or email until they had reported to the credit agency. I interacted with an agent there and there was no solution. They basically ****** my credit for 7 years because of their garbage algorithm to solve problems.

      They without permission had return payments made for automatic billing, the money was in the account and then without authorization went for a reversal of payment and then hit me with fees. When I tried to call they refused to refund the fee even with it showing the money was in the account. When I asked for the supervisor, she hung up after not liking that I wouldn't accept her answer. I have 2 business accounts and 2 checking accounts and 1 savings account. I'm pulling all my money out today.

      Overall was not a good experience banking with citizens, I never felt safe having a account as I had fraudulent activity . I called to ask for help but I was transferred several times to be could I couldnt be helped. All they did was send a new card. Also if you run a business expect major delays from the mobile deposit center. Other major banks are much more reliable. Hope citizens can fix the issue.

      Ive had citizens bank for awhile. But the branch I used to go to I had no issues this branch, the people here are unprofessional, ignorant and act as if your questions are too much for them. Citizens bank in generals charge overdraft fees everytime you blink, even with their bogus forgiveness c*** they time to tell you about. I came in here to close my account the lady I spoke with, Le-ah. always has an attitude and will cut you right off while you are trying to explain something. She did this several times to me. How can you know my concern if you wont let me finish. And I spoke to her on two separate occasions I had, had enough with her ignorance ( she should be fired) I wanted a manager not her. So I wait for the manager ( general manager) he seems nice but same thing mad I want to close my account. Tells me my account is overdrawn and in the same sentence says it isnt. I know it wasnt overdrawn. Hes showing me stuff on the computer and ends up contradicting the lies he was making up because he indeed showed me my account was overdrawn. And he proceeds to tell me he cant do anything because its an automatic process, and that I cant use my account until the automatic overdraft fee is removed. I told him do what he had to do I want my account gone. Close it down. So be somehow magically reversed the charge and said he closed my checking and savings. Well lo and behold I got an email last month. I said how if my account is closed. I called them they said something something it takes 60 days to fully close. Well here I am people yet again another email. Its been 3 months now, currently Im on hold 35 minutes in. Citizens just like to take your money and they train their employees to act as if theyre better than you. This location needs a whole new set of staff.

      The worst banking experience of my life. They essentially held my money hostage for two weeks even though I have deposited over 100k in deposits over the last 4 months. The check in question was verified and cashed by citizens. I have the stamp and voided check from the issuing bank. They held it with the excuse it needed to be verified. Which was a lie. They already cashed it. Every time I called to find out why or when hold would be up. I got a different answer or excuse. This bank plays games with your money. NEVER USE THIS BANK!!

      Citizens this bank is absolute GARBAGE, and online banking is a JOKE. Site/app is down every single day, the app doesnt work correctly, ** locked out of my money constantly because you cant make anything functional. Its down today, but the website doesnt say anything, I had to change my password and call you to get that information. Stresses me out all the time, because I think someone has gotten into my account, but no, its just the idiots at the bank who cant do anything right.

      I moved from ** to ***** around the time my **** account got converted to Citizens. It was great hassle to get access to the account. Later I was able to get access but I am not able to move my money outside the account. So my money is stuck in the account and ********************** charges me $3/month account fees. Not sure why such a bank is allowed to operate.Giving 1* rating as cant give a 0 rating.
