1 starJust genuinely terrible customer service. I had to call in today about an issue with an automatic payment on a Citizens Pay account because of an error when trying to move my checking account. First I get someone who sounded annoyed at having to be at work from the moment she picked up the phone. Then they tell me they can't do anything as simple as move the payment date so it doesn't get returned. I don't think I've ever reached out to these guys that they haven't acted like it was unreasonable to expect them to do anything. Is it this hard to find people willing to work that you're putting the worst possible people into dealing with support calls? I wish Apple would find someone else to handle their Upgrade program, because these guys are terrible at it.Review fromMartin C

1 starThis bank is either incompetent or intentionally difficult. I opened a CD just because I saw attractive rates. Now getting the money out has been a real pain. First of all, in comparison, my prefered bank Ally made this so easy. They let you declare what you want to happen to the money when it matures. Process done! Citizens Bank does not do that. I was not allowed to set up a scheduled transaction of any type due on maturity. Furthermore I had *********************************************************************************************** so now when it became mature I tried to transfer the money online but was unable to. They said I had to call. I called and we wen't through a bunch of security checks ending with this texted pin number security check. Their system was broken at the time and those pins weren't working. So I had to try again the next day. Still broken. Then finally day 3 it's not broken and the transfer to a citizens checking account happens. Now I need to transfer out of citizens to another bank. First day trying this the online banking system has some kind of error and won't let me sign in. So I try again the next day and finally get through. But now for online banking there's a $25000 transfer limit per day and $100,000 per month!!!!! Unless I order checks or if I drop into a branch. But I'm no where near a branch. So now I have to wait for checks so I can start writing checks to myself. And I'm sure once I get the checks I'll be hit with another problem. Holy h*** this system is awful.Review fromSylvia G

1 starI've lived in ******** for the majority of my 55 years, and I have always taken pride in frequenting my neighborhood businesses. However, every time I visit this particular Citizens Bank at ***************************************************, its nothing short of disappointment. Each time I've visit, ******************************* wouldn't help me as she should have. She talks about my personal information in front of other customers, she would ask what I need to be seen for. That is my main complaint and concern. Also, she told me that she had an appointment coming in and I said I would wait after her appointment (at her suggestion). Her appointment never showed up after over 45 min. In the meantime, she took friends of hers, I knew they were friends because she hugged and kissed them upon their arrival and upon their departure. At which time she still didn't want to help me cancel fraud charges on my account. Her "appointment" never showed up after over an hour by then. In which she still refused to help me. Maybe, it was too tedious or time consuming to her. Each and every time I've tried to come into customer service for help and she is working, its always an issue.Review fromKristina P

1 starHORRIBLE BANK - BONUS OFFER A SCAM. I would leave begeative stars if I could. I received an bonus offer in the mail for a checking and savings account. I opened both, set up online account, set up direct deposit with my work, set of transfers into my savings account all to meant the requirements for this bonus. Pay day at work arrives and I'm told the bank rejected my direct deposit. I look in my account, and my checking account disappeared. The money I transferred into the savings account never was put in. I go in to chat with Citizens Bank and they tell me "we decided to end the relationship with you." No notice, no email, no mail indicating that I wasted my time setting up direct deposit, opening the accounts, or funding the savings account. I ask for an explanation as to why "my relationship was ended" and they closed the chat. I called - I'm given NO explanation other than they are "sending me check" for the money I transferred in. Won't tell me when it's going to arrive, provide a check number, or provide any other information. This bank is complete SCAM. They are telling me I can't get the check number because "it could compromise my account" when they closed my accounts. They told me "to act professionally" on the phone when I'm missing $500 of money I entrusted to their business and provided no professional assistance in explaining why I took time out out of my life to become their customer and they just closed the accounts with no notice or explanation. If my job did't tell me direct deposit was rejected, when would I have found out? How could they not notify someone about this? My sense is they don't want to provide the bonus to people who actually jump through all the hoops to get it! Now I get to wait week(s) to see if I actually ever get my $500 back. Costumer service on phone just literally stopped responding to me similar to them just ending the chat on me.Review fromYana F

1 starVery disappointed in customer service. I was promised higher interest rate on private client account by an agent who convinced me to transfer to them from the other bank. Private client agent said information we were provided was not accurate at all. And now my interest is lower that I had at the other bank. I am trying to set up appointment with their private client agent to no avail. He is always unavailable. No one knows what is going on at the few branches I went to. They always call some higher mngt **** where they also get no help. My HELOG application was completely screwed up. They denied me because they forgot to submit my proof of income with the application and 3 months later asked me to restart my application to fix their mistake. I have never ever thought I could experience such incompetence at a bank. Leaving.Review fromMary F

1 starIt is totally disappointing the way this bank is heading. I have been a banking customer with ********************** since they were Charter One Bank. 30+ years now. They are closing all of the locations closest to my home/ work and on top of it they close the banks at 4 p.m. SO, what the h*** is someone who works till 5 as most of us do...suspose to do if you need to see a teller. I don't get a lunch hour and if I did it would take the entire hour to get to the bank, and return to work on time. Can't get in to see a living breathing individual anymore. I wanted to make an appointment with someone regarding a home loan pre approval for my son ... but, no one works anymore. SO Citizens will loose this business. COME ONE YOU SUITED IDIOTS making decisions to close the bank before 5 p.m. It is also a P.I.A. to call customer service regarding online banking. You wait on hold like 45 min to talk to someone you can't even understand or they don't or can't help you with your issues. This bank is going down the tubes fast. No customer service anymore. We as working full time Americans are now expected to do everyones jobs. I have a full time job already and I don't feel like doing the bankers jobs too. LEADERSHIP oh... sorry, there is non here. BANKING HOURS need to be at least until 5 or 6 p.m. if only at the drive thru - anything is better than what you have now. LONG TERM CUSTOMER DISGUSTED with the changes ********************** is making and treating their customers. Obviously they don't appreciate long term customers if they are now willing to change the banking hours - they will loose customers.Review fromJerome J

1 starThe absolute rock bottom of a company. If you wonder if they treat everyone as bad as they do you? Without fail. They get most of their auto loan business from car dealerships, like they did mine. So, they don't care if you are a repeat customer, as the dealerships will keep using them anyway. Moral of the story...go to the car dealership with your own financing, or remember to take a minute, and research the company the dealership is pushing. Stay far, far away, from this one.Review fromCraig T

1 star9 to 4 bank hours - what century do they feel they are in . This smacks clear in the face of a bank that is probably having financial woes - why else minimize exposure to the public coming in a having transactions that can't be done in an ATM machine. This bank is falling off the earthReview fromsohaib z

1 starI am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the services provided by ****************************, Home Equity Specialist at Citizens Bank. My experience with ****************** has been nothing short of misleading and deceptive, and I feel compelled to share my ordeal to prevent others from falling victim to her unscrupulous practices.Upon reaching out to ****************** for information about home equity services, I was met with false promises and deceptive claims. ****************** sweet-talked me into believing that the minimum Home Equity Line of Credit (*****) was preapproved, urging me to apply without providing transparent details or full disclosure about the process.********************** misleading representation of the preapproval status of the ***** minimum amount was a blatant attempt to manipulate me into applying for a product without fully understanding the terms, conditions, or implications. Her actions demonstrate a clear lack of integrity and a disregard for ethical business practices.Furthermore, ********************** failure to provide accurate and honest information reflects poorly on her professionalism and integrity as a Home Equity Specialist. By misrepresenting the preapproval status and pressuring individuals to apply for financial products under false pretenses, she undermines trust and erodes confidence in Citizens Bank's services.I urge prospective clients to exercise caution and skepticism when dealing with **************************** and to thoroughly scrutinize any information or offers presented by her. My experience serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of due diligence and vigilance when navigating financial transactions, especially with individuals like ****************** who prioritize deceptive tactics over genuine customer service.
