Can not get anyone on the phone. This is the chat and he blocked me when I said his points were stupid:
Ms. *** 03:17 PM
I was chatting earlier in regards to the flap on my doggy door being too small.
Mel 03:17 PM
Mel 03:18 PM
The pet flap is not going to attach on the sides at all as it has to be moveable for the pet to go in and out. It will not have a tight seal.
Ms. *** 03:19 PM
There is a significant gap on the side. The flap and the metal strip it is attached to is not long enough.
Mel 03:24 PM
It is not too small. It has to be able to move back and forth when used. It will not be airtight and does not attach on the sides. Your pictures are normal and how it should be. A replacement flap would look no different.
It came with a hardcover if you want to shut off completely.
Ms. *** 03:25 PM
No, it should not be like this. A gap that size will allow bugs to have a field day and will affect my heating and cooling bill.
Mel 03:26 PM
The door is not meant to be used an entry door. Yes bugs can get in it as it is a pet door.
Ms. *** 03:26 PM
Shutting it off will defeat the purpose of getting it.
Mel 03:27 PM
You cannot have your entry door open all the time and expect the storm door to be the same. The storm door is not insulated, weatherproof or airtight.
Ms. *** 03:27 PM
No, no no. I've had pet doors before and there should not be a gap that size.
Mel 03:28 PM
The flap is flexible again to allow your pet to use it.
The pet flap in your picture looks as it should and again a replacement will be no different.
This flap is supposed to fit in a manner that does not allow air and/or bugs to enter my home.
Mel 03:31 PM
That is why I mentioned the storm door will not act as an entry door. If you leave the entry door open yes air and bugs can get through the pet opening.
There is nothing faulty or defective in the storm door or pet flap.
Ms. *** 03:31 PM
There should not be a gap on any side. You are not making any sense.Larson Manufacturing Company

Zero stars. Absolutely horrible experience with customer service and warranty. Showed pics of a brand new door and was granted a new one under warranty. Was originally told it would arrive by Oct 24th which would have been 3 to 5 weeks as stated. About 2 weeks prior I checked and date was moved to Nov 11th. I called and was told the door was built and once shipped I would receive tracking info. Oct 30 and still no tracking, I contacted via chat and was told the door was being built. I provided the emails saying it was built 2 weeks ago and rep disconnected me and I couldn't get back in. After 6 calls to Dale Larson I finally heard back from another customer service rep. They lost my door and said it would be 4 to 6 weeks for it to be shipped because it had to be built
I said just send a whole new door as before it was just the core coming. Said couldn't do that. My options went from no apology to go to Menards and pick up a whole new door, I asked about my time, gas, ect. Then was offered $50 somehow but had to take the old door back or wait 4 to 6 weeks for core. 3 days later am still waiting to hear how they will give me $50. Worst customer service other. If it was my company I would send a whole new door immediately.Larson Manufacturing Company

I purchased a Larson (STORM) door from Lowes in June, I opened my front door this morning to take my grandchild out for a walk and the glass on my storm door exploded and shattered into peace's leaving glass all over my grand baby (1 yrs) and myself. We could have been harmed by all the glass but by Gods grace we were okay they baby and I were both were scared. The glass was thin and it did not have an adhesive seal to keep the glass from shattering everywhere, in this day and age I thought this was a staple to prevent such injuries as what could have happened to us. The pane was not doubled pained and should not be considered storm door quality. This door should not be advertised as a storm door. If this door does not stand up to everyday wear and tear, how could it protect anyone from a storm. I called to see if the door was under warranty but the warranty only cover the frame how convenient. I was told that maybe the change in temperature is what cause the door to explode and shatter, how could a exterior door be made of such poor quality materials that the door would exploded due to temperature change? The customer service rep. was very nice and explained Lawsons policies to me clearly. I am very disappointed, at this point I no longer want the door. I was told I could purchase a replacement glass for $250.00 but whose to say the next one won't do the same. The warranty is unrealistic and I will very displeased with this Lawson product, so much for backing your products. For me in this economy making this purchase just washed my hard earned $$$ down the drain :(( I am a very disappointed customer. Item #*******

This company’s customer service is so below par it doesn’t even register. Been trying to reach the company for 2 1/2 hours and continue to move in a continuous loop of getting nowhere. Unfortunately we have a Larson Storm Door. The lock is broken and the door cannot be opened. We need it fixed. Too bad for us.Larson Manufacturing Company

Ordered a custom Platinum Storm door from Lowes March 2023. Today I notice that the top hinge is loose/backing out of the door causing it to not close or sit squarely in the frame. Attempting to call Larson's customer service number is impossible as all reps are currently busy and there is NO queue. They just disconnect you. I am currently on a chat queue with them, but to not be able to speak to someone over the phone is unacceptable!Larson Manufacturing Company

I have had a terrible experience trying to order a replacement screen for my front door. This process started on March 13 th and now it’s July and have yet to receive the right screen door. Twice this company has sent me the wrong size screen for my front door. Then while they were putting a so called rush on the third door they said it was damaged in the warehouse, putting it back another week. The only way to communicate is thru the chat feature on their website. They list a customer service # but no one ever answers it, just says to use their chat feature. I have requested 3 or 4 times to speak with a supervisor or have one call me please but that request has been ignored and tell me to call the # that no one answers. So it’s July and no screen for my front door. For a company that specializes in doors their replacement process of a simple screen has been a nightmare. You are at their mercy and they could care less and their processes seem to be sub par if they can’t ship the correct size of a replacement screen . I would not buy from this company again. Ever!!!!!Larson Manufacturing Company

Can’t contact warranty people. Multiple attempts. I Bought a Black platinum edition with hideaway screen. That completely popped off the door and broke while I was installing it. This is ridiculous for something this expensive breaking during installation. And they will want $50 or more for a replacement that may not even work.Larson Manufacturing Company

I bought a Larson Williamsburg storm door from Lowes last week. The screen wont stay in the door, both of the sides pull out from under the containment clip all the time. I tried calling Larson on Saturday while they were still open and couldnt get thru to them. I tried using the help contact at the bottom left of the screen but it wouldn't let me type in anything.
The door was a pain in the a** to install and took me three and a half hours. I have installed storm doors all my life and never had these problems. I have four storm doors on my house that took about an hour each to install. I moved the door I am replacing to replace the one on the back of my garage and it took me less than a half hour to remove the old one and install the one I moved.
Lowes isn't any help either as this is a weekend and nobody is there on weekends to advise about storm doors. Even though the manager told me to wait an hour and a guy named Jeff would be in and he could give me a new screen and set of clips from a door they had. I waited an hour until he came in and he tomd me to come back monday.
Larson doors suck and Uniontown, PA Lowes sucks. Lowes only has people there till 5 during the week when people have to work!!!Larson Manufacturing Company

If I could give them a 0 I would.
We purchased a black Platinum Series storm door with retractable screen from Menards. Waited almost 2 months to receive. The door has two main issues.
1. Gouges and missing paint where the horizontal bar on the front of the door that covers the the overlap between the two glass panels connects to the side frames.
2. Misaligned corners that are noticeably offset both visibly and to the touch especially on the top of the door where the two pieces were at least 1/32 of an inch off and you could not just feel but see the offset.
Larson told me I could return and reorder the door due to issue #1, but told me issue #2 was in spec (how can you say that based only on a picture?).
When I asked for an expedite and quality check on a replacement order I was told they would agree to have the quality team inspect the door, but I had to wait another 4-6 weeks (was 7 for the first order) to receive the new door even though they made the mistake.
The initial agent I spoke with by phone (Trevor) was nice and empathetic. I received an email with our options with 24 hours of sending in the photos. When I tried to call back in to discuss our options further, I kept getting a we are sorry message and wasn't even placed in a phone queue to speak with someone. I finally started an online chat with someone named Teri whose responses were rude to be honest. Virtually no empathy and just a "here are your options and we won't do anything else" response.
I have already removed our old storm door to prep for the new one and will now have to go all summer without a replacement. We will have to make several special trips to the store to get this resolved and the manufacturer doesn't seem to really care.
Given they shipped the first door with such an obvious issue, we had no faith that our next door will show up in better condition so we are returning and will no longer do any business with Larson. I urge others to think twice as well.Larson Manufacturing Company
