      I was just in my local DG, in Emmetsburg, IA. The wind chill this morning is 31`. It was cold in the store, and was told corporate has to turn on the heat and they are in Tennessee! If enough people complain they will turn it on. I looked up corporate's phone #, and of course that # is no longer in service! It's supposed to be in the 20's for a high by Friday, I would think someone better be getting the heat on!

      The prices marked on the shelves are not correct. Pretty much everything you buy is higher at the register. this is not only at this store, but every dollar general. People are getting ripped off and I see people don't notice or when they do, they're frustrated and just say forget it. I could go to the store buy 10 items, and all of them would be higher prices. this has been going on for years.

      I have shopped online at Dollar General twice. Both times I came away overcharged, didn't get everything I ordered, and left disappointed. That's 0 for 2. So no more online ordering at Dollar General for me. I don't intend on getting burned a third time. It's time to start bad-mouthing Dollar General and warning others to steer clear.
      My complaint is mainly due to Dollar General's online discount coupons being denied due to "out of stock" items. By this I mean coupons and discounts like "$3 off a $15 order" or "$5 off a $25 order". For instance, on this most recent order I bought $15 worth of stuff to get the $3 off coupon, but when I went to pick up my order I was told a few items were "out of stock". Therefore my total minimum order dropped below $15 and the $3 discount was not applied and I ended up paying full retail prices on only a partially filled order. Same thing happened the first time I ordered. The Dollar General website said "26 in stock" so I ordered 10. But when I went to pick up the employee said I could only receive 7 because that was all that was ever on their shelves. The Dollar General employee said never believe the quantity counts on the website. I'll go one further -- don't believe anything on the Dollar General website.
      I think the Dollar General website is purposely rigged and does this on purpose in order to lure shoppers with deals and discounts, only to deny them at the last possible moment in order to increase revenue. That's bad business and probably one of the many reasons Dollar General only ranks 1-Star here. Most chain stores will simply move stock from store to store to complete the order. Not Dollar General. I'll stick with online ordering from ****** or *******  or local grocery stores. By the way, the staff at my location are nice and helpful and I have no problem with them at all, but the Dollar General website is clearly untrustworthy and needs lots of work.

      I bought a dog toy, the type to play tug-of-war with. In less than an hour It ripped at the seams and the stuffing came out. I returned it the same afternoon. The clerk wasn't going to give me a refund because it was damaged. I explained it was a dog toy, and the damage was the problem! She very grudgedly let me replace it with an identical toy. Same story- within hour it was totally ripped and torn apart by my two 14 lb. Lhasapoo puppies. I took a photo (which was time stamped) of the damaged toy and returned to the store within the hour for a full refund. Fortunately this store is only 5 miles from home. Different clerk, but this time I'm told I couldn't get a refund because the item the item cost less than $13....??? I told her I shop Dollar General frequently, but if this is their policy I was done. She wouldn't budge. After reading the other reviews, I doubt that contacting corporate would be of any help, I'm just appalled at this level of so-called service. Convenient location yes, but I'll drive the extra miles to avoid Dollar General in the future!

      I live in Marion Arkansas and our Dollar Generals are also short staff because they cannot hire people. Also the one in West Memphis Arkansas. Carts all down isles. Cannot get to products. Stores in a mess. I have complained to district managers several times with no results. Someone help these poor managers get the some full time help.

      They are charging more than what they are posted for. I told the cashier that my prices rung up wrong. He told me u needed to see a supervisor. Sp i waited on the side. I finally walked thru the store to take pictures of what rung up the wrong. I waited back in line. She told me that they would get in trouble if the honor the prices. They were shorthanded understaffed and keep
      up. Very poor customer service!!

      Prices are rising everywhere. But for the last six months this store has had one price on the shelf and charge another price at the register. When you let the cashier know the price is wrong they get egregiously rude. Today the cashier loudly let us know they have no control over the prices as she picked and chose which prices she would and would not correct. If the prices are posted correctly at the shelf the customer can choose whether they want that item or not; but to scan it and put it in the bag like nothing's wrong, then snap at the customer because the customer brings it to their attention means something else. I won't be back to the Dollar General at 2704 Frayser Blvd, Memphis Tn.
      This is actually a ZERO review.

      The tractor trailer that delivers goods to the Waterbury, CT location drove over our grass damaging the lawn, curbs, and sprinkler system. The reason they entered our property is because they don't use the proper GPS to avoid the low bridge. I have made several attempts to complain about this situation and every time I call they tell me someone will reach out to me. It has been 2 months and no calls. Terrible company to deal with.

      If shopping at a dollar general store check the prices that are rung up because they are not the right prices as they have on the shelves.Dollar general ailes are not accessible to handicapped people or to basically anyone shopping there . Dg bottom line is make a buck ***** the customer. It's easier to order online from ****** or ******* shipped to your door without the hassle .
