Dollar General repeatedly prices items on the shelf higher than they ring up at the register. They repeatedly advertise digital coupons that do not come off the transaction. Dollar General is making millions of dollars by misleading customers evidently their trip to court did not do any good.Dollar General

2 customers ahead in line cashier talking away holding the customers up to cash out. And cashier talking about her having to move her couch., sorry she had to bail out of work early to the other employee. Still cashing out the ones before me still talking away. The one in front of me makes noise of hurry along. Then comes to me cashing out she was reading a magazine and not cashing me out as if I wasn't even there. I said excuse me in a nicely matter saying are you going to cash me out now? She gets mad and starts getting snobby and I said it was Rude of her to hold up the customers in the store of talking of personal things and reading on the clock not on break. She picked up my pk of cookies and threw them on counter and told the other employee to cash me me. I mean I don't care if one want to talk and read but on your own personality time, not on employers time or customers time. I said if you don't like your job just go get another one. She said I like my job just don't like you. I don't even know this woman. I mean I had ice cream and my service dog out in vech. With windows down. I truly wasn't mean to this lady I basically was stating a fact. It was very rude and wrong. The other lady that cashed me out I said that you. The other woman still talking away mad , I told her God Bless have a nice day. I went on my way. Any other time I'm in there never had a problem.Review fromPatricia P

We live next door to a nasty dollar store in RedBud Ga. We've complained about it several times and a few times they clean it up but a few days later it's a bigger mess. Cleaning the surrounding area outside should be an ongoing thing. Nastiness does not encourage customers.Dollar General

2 starsI would TRULY like to know why Dollar General has the nerve to charge $3.50 for a gallon of milk at one location and $4.35 for a gallon of milk at another location.? These locations are only 10 miles apart!! THIS to me is just plain price gouging! You are fully taking advantage of customers!Review fromCindy P

I know they are ripping off the customers. The sale prices, are not always taken off at the register. You are told to write down the info for your purchases and go over the prices as they are rung up, to be sure they are right. I was told this last Saturday that "I do it on purpose" purchase product that will not ring up correctly. I have a problem 3 out of 5 times I shop at dollar general.Dollar General

Wellington, Ohio store is an absolute filthy mess. I can't believe they're allowed to sell perishable and non-perishable food here. I Walked in this morning and there was a customer waiting at the check out register. Both the manager and an employee were in an isle not paying attention and talking to one another. The customer at the check out line asked me if I saw a cashier in the store.. I notified the talking women and one came up and assisted the other customer. This store used to be really nice, clean and organized. I don't know what happened along the way but it's atrocious now. I did mention to the manager how I felt. She and the employee are very nice but both the manager and the employee both blamed everything on the night crew and cleaning crew. Did not take responsiblity for anything. There has been a large dead spider off to the side when you come through the front doors for weeks now. The floors look like they haven't been cleaned in weeks if not months. The isles are full of boxes, unpacked boxes, dirt and grime. The shelves are horrible organized and boxes of food products even set on the floor. That to me us unacceptable. This store needs shut down, deep cleaned, organized, and employees re-educated on how to manage a store. Also.. the parking lot off to the side is full of cigarette butts as well. It's digusting. 5 starsStore #503 in Daytona Beach, FL is my favorite store to visit when I need something on the fly. Employees are always nice and the manager Doug does a good job at keeping staff in good spirits. The store is always clean and maintained well.Review fromMarion C

I am highly concerned that DG does not recognize any form of identication except state issued IDs. They refused to recognize my military identification or any other ID for the purchase of tobacco, despite being a grey bearded 55 year old man. The employees expressed fear of losing their jobs if they did not scan state IDs.
These practices will continue offend its customers. Whatever "mark" they require to identify will certainly appease "the beast" they serve.

I arrived to the Dollar General in Pendleton SC on 9/162024 @ 9:44 pm to pick up one item and they locked the doors on me and claimed that they closed at 9:30 when the hours say 10:00? Just a few teenagers running the store making their own rules?Dollar General

So i came into a Dollar General on Rainbow in Las Vegas and I was racially profiled because I was black .. as soon as I came with my mother in law the girl girl ask me to put my ******* **** bag by the front door and I’m like why for what, mind I have came into the store million times with this same bag and nothing was said they said that is was the store policy that backpacks are not allow in the store mind you it wasn’t a backpack you take to school it was literally use for my purse my wallet and everything was in there so why would leave by the front so someone can take it , not only that my mother in law bag was bigger then mines and she’s Hawaiian and they said nothing to her Just because I’m black girl they think every black person wants to steal I work for big corporation myself and I can’t believe I was treated like this from one of there employees and the manager did nothing the girl didn’t even want to give my mother in law her name and didn’t have name tag on ..crazy thing is I even told them You check my bag it’s not that serious cause I don’t steal and I’m very disappointed.. This is not good practice and for a company to succeed they need to start by having good customer service i will be reaching out to their corporate about this matterDollar General
