      The worst that we had to deal with them , we have split ac system . They first send the wrong technician and they cant work on it . We had to wait another week to get it fixed until the next technician was available. They showed up and hes great . The company not so much . They give us a call and they cant cover it because there is a tube they dont want to deal with and theyre making an excuse mind you we have been dealing with the heat we have kids . And yet they couldnt even give us a solution to make it work we have been suffering in the heat all this time waiting for them to give us a repair solution and still nothing . We canceled and we dont want to do business with them . Horrible because theyre not the ones dealing with the heat we are . Just taking peoples money and not trying to help which is why theyre there for . Kept bringing up the policies and excuses . While the amazing technician was trying to help us before July will hit . Horrible horrible customer **********************

      Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service & Lack of Urgency
      My experience with American Home Shield has been frustrating and unacceptable. Over the past year, I've had repeated issues with my heating and cooling system, and AHS has failed to resolve them promptly or effectively.
      April 2024: My AC stopped working. AHS initially assigned an unresponsive contractor, and after delays, I had to pay out-of-pocket for unresolved issues.
      January 2025: My heater didn’t work due to an error in the previous repair. AHS admitted fault but only refunded the $100 service fee.
      June 2025: My AC failed again during a heat advisory in Arizona. The assigned contractor was delayed, provided minimal help, and wanted to charge $600–$700 for uncovered repairs. The issue remains unresolved.
      Despite multiple calls and escalation, I was met with contradictory information, long delays, and zero urgency—even when I explained the health risks to my child and pet during extreme heat.
      Key issues: Inconsistent and incomplete repairs, repeated unnecessary service fees, poor communication, and complete disregard for urgent health and safety concerns.
      I’ve now been without reliable AC for several days during peak summer heat. Avoid AHS if you value reliable service and timely repairs—especially for essential home systems.

      I regret purchasing a plan with this company. I have never skipped a monthly payment for YEARS and now that its finally time to use my insurance on fixing my AC, they are adding additional costs to my portion like labor costs and supply costs. Ive called multiple times and have gotten the run around. They are now saying my portion is over $2000. Horrible!! Save your money instead of purchasing a plan with this company.

      DO NOT use this company. We have paid thousands of dollars to this company over the last 7+ years. Our contract covers normal wear and tear, up to $5000 on an A/C repairs. We have called in a service request 3x over the years. The first two were on our dishwasher that has never been fixed. This third service was for our A/C unit. They will only cover $445 towards a new evaporative coil that is supposed to last ***** years. The technician noted it was under normal wear and tear. Our cost, not including the $125 service call is over $1800. The ********************** has too many calls for be sent to them. Do NOT do it.

      I had a very disappointing experience with American Home Shield. During a heatwave with temperatures soaring to 100, my A/C went out, and I expected prompt assistance. However, because I live on a rural property, they couldnt find a service technician and simply told me to find one myself. There was only one company willing to come out, but they dont communicate with warranty companies like AHS, leaving me stuck without cooling despite paying for a warranty that has proven completely useless. The agents I spoke with were unhelpful, repeatedly giving me the same scripted responses and showing no willingness or ability to think independently or find a solution. After waiting on hold for 25 minutes, they abruptly hung up on me. When I requested to speak with a manager, they refused and continued to dismiss my concerns. Overall, American Home Shield has been a frustrating and ineffective service that failed to provide the support I expected.

      After being quoted an amount for my premiums they went back to the original amount. It is taking forever to refund me for the overcharge. Very frustrating.

      There is no 0 to put in this review!! since I started using this company it has been a nightmare, but this was it !! i've been without water for 2 weeks because my water heater broke down and was leaking in my attic and they said this was not an emergency, I told them i have a baby and they didn't care. please don't use this this company they only steal your money !!!!!!

      Having a baby at home without water for 2 weeks and the ceiling collapsing because all the water leaking in the attic is not an emergency!!!!! What kind of company is this??? You shouldnt be stealing money to all this people. Im not the only one who had a bad experience with yall Ive been reading a lot of bad reviews of this company and the only thing that all representatives is say Im sorry but dont fix the problem. Im so mad and disappointed!!!and I hope a lot of people read this review and the others so they can open their eyes before is too late.

      37 days since I requested a service for my AC Central air, it's been 90 and going to be hotter. My wife is 78 years old and needs the air conditioner for her health. Talking every day with AHS customer ********************** and they tell me the same thing every day, that they don't have a contractor to do the work. But they have taken my service fee money and I am current with my account. Can't give me an answer for how long I have to wait to get my AC replaced. No one has ever called me with any updates, so I have to get intouch with customer ********************** myself and they have lied to me with telling me that it will be assigned by the end of the day, and they will call me before the end of the day. No one has ever called me back, not once. Very unhappy with this company and I would not ever recommend it to anyone else. I rate them at-10??

      ***** delay delay on coverage for a broken furnace, they are terrible, we have been without heat 16 days and counting waiting for them to get they're repair vendors out and u can't get to higher ground to complain about the service!! I will cancel with them!!

      We had an issue with our AC unit freezing and the technician they hired has a 2.8 review with numerous complaints. The technician was at our home for no more than 10 minutes and told us we had a dirty air filter, the next day the same thing happened and he told American Home Shield that it was a per-existing condition even though we just bought the house, AC passed inspection and we paid out of pocket to have a licensed technician install a new smart thermostat that also checked the system. Now American Home Shield is siding with the technician and refuses to even send out a different company to fix our AC. We will be taking all of our evidence to court.
