      DO NOT GET ANY PLAN FROM AMERICAN HOME SHIELD. I had a terrible experience with American Home Shield. When I have a water leak and water heater stopped working, it took days to get a technician, who then came and said oh this is the issue but I cant do it. Why do they send him to begin with. Then the drag their feet to we get frustrated and have our own technician to fix it. They are the scammer at highest level. Customer ********************** was unhelpful and gave conflicting answers.. I canceled the plan and wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

      I would give thiscompany a zero star if I could. I have been a client for 5 yeats and they have increased my prices 15-20% every year. On top of that, they don't care about their customers. My furnace broke down n they assigned me a company who suggested 'replacing of Gas furnace ' and gave us an 'uncovered price of approx $1900' without a detail of why the charge is so high. AHS doesn't care how much these contractor companies are charging us. I reached out to AHS and they suggested 'cash in lieu' instead. The amount offered to us to buy our own furnace and the labor to get it installed was $1300. The assigned contractor was bague, rude and shady. Not giving a straight answer and simple saying 'it is what it is'. We got a 2nd opinion and the second company suggested a replacement as well. We asked AHS that we want to go with the 2nd company and initially they said no but then agreed. I have spent 3 months, talking to different agents at AHS, each one saying something different. Some saying that we can go with 2nd company and then after 2 weeks, with no change in service request, I'd call again snd have the conversation all over again.Extremely disappointed in AHS. 3 momths of my time wasted as different agents said different things. I'm finally getting it done with the same old rude, greedy contractor AHS assigned. I will not be renewing my contract with this callous company. They don't care for their clients. Their agents are not trained properly. And it's next to impossible to ever get hold of a supervisor.

      If I could leave 0 stars!. My heatpump went out and I filed a service request on April 5th of 2025. I never heard a word from AHS for about a week. I called them. They said they could not find a contractor to help me so they gave me permission, in an email, to hire my own technician. I made several calls and the contractors would not work for AHS. NO one wanted to work for AHS. I finally found a contractor who came out and diagnosed my heatpump as non repairable. It would not even turn on. I gave them the phone number to call AHS and submit the diagnosis. They submitted a diagnosis by email just like they were told to do. About a week after that I called AHS to see what was taking so long. The lady, after having me on hold for about 20 minutes, came back and said that it was being reviewed and they would call me by 4:30 p.m. that day with an answer. I waited, no phone call, so I called them back the next business day and they said the contractor would have to call them. the contractor called back and they were told that AHS never received the diagnosis.. the contractor re-submitted the diagnosis. I never heard a word for about another week and the contractor called again and after being on hold for an hour, was told to re-submit the diagnosis again. about another week went by and I called and asked for a supervisor. They sent me to escalation who called me and said no decision had been made. Finally I got an email saying that the request was approved and that I would have to go in and accept the non-covered costs. I also have a voicemail from AHS, that the request was approved and AHS would pay up to $5,000. I accepted the non-covered costs. AHS said the next step was to call the contractor and schedule install. Contractor called to get the approval code and was told AHS wanted 2nd opinion. I have proof everything was approved, how can they ask for 2nd opinion after approving the costs. I have proof. It's been 8 weeks. I've had AHS For 3 YRS! Don't waste your $

      We filed a claim with American Home Shield on May 28th 2025. As of June 5th 2025 we have not had a response from any Pro with AHS. They did give us a name and number of a Pro, however, the Pro never got in touch with us, we called several times and finally got someone to answer the phone. This person did not work for AHS and he was in ********* and we live in ****, that's only 1500 miles away. We have called customer ********************** several times, every time we are routed to a person overseas that say they are sorry and understand and they will get this information to the dispatcher. We call every day and we are still waiting for a Pro to contact us. If they don't have anyone to do the job for us, we have someone that can, but AHS will not give us permission, as of yet, to use our own service guy. Still waiting for an AHS Pro to contact us.

      If I could I would give this company Negative stars . The information they give you to sign up with the company is a lie. You sign up and have a waiting period of 30 days after signing up then you can file a claim if there are issues in the home. My Air conditioner stop cooling my home 3 days after my 30 day waiting period, I filed a claim, paid my $125 service fee. A tech came out and said my compressor went out in my HVAC system. American shield authorization team denies the claim stating it was not due to normal wear and tear, it was due to bypass wires which caused the compressor to go out. I checked my policy and there is nothing that states a problem is not cover due to how the wires are set in the system. I wanted to cancel immediately, the cancellation team sent a refund for service fee offered to send out another company for a second opinion. Another company came out and said compressor is dead and it needs to be replaced. The authorization team still denied the claim and this time they did not give a reason. I was completely let down thinking they would honor the call contract instead they made up a fake reason to not pay for the repair. Now my family is inconvenienced and burning up thinking we had coverage for our home. The biggest **** out here besides insurance is warranty companies. I would never recommend anyone to sign up and be ******* by this company. You would be better off paying out of pocket because they will take the monthly premiums/service fee and still not honor the agreement for the warranty. They need to be **** because I know they have others victims to their ***m. This company needs to be put out of business due to the lies they tell their customers.

      The Business Model of American Home Shield Feels Deceptive American Home Shield charges customers a monthly fee along with an additional service fee whenever a repair is needed. Once a service request is submitted, they assign the job to the lowest-cost contractoroften one with poor reviews and minimal experience. That contractor contacts the customer, schedules an appointment, and then takes photos or videos of the issue to send to American Home Shield for evaluation.After reviewing the report, American Home Shield decides whether the repair will be covered. If approved, they notify the contractor of the portion theyll pay forleaving the customer responsible for any remaining balance, even though the contractor wasn't of their choosing and may lack adequate ***************** my case, I had a leaking shower faucet that wouldnt shut off and a bathroom faucet with stiff hot and cold water valves. The fix was simple: replace a cartridge in the shower and two in the sink. However, the contractor, Aladdins Plumbing, only took photos during the first visit and returned two days later just to capture a videostill with no parts ordered or repairs scheduled.After four days of delays, American Home Shield denied the repair, claiming a failed cartridge wasnt a result of "normal wear and tear"which is both incorrect and absurd. Cartridges are clearly mechanical components that wear out over time. Their appeal process offers the option to request a second opinion from another contractor, but you must pay another $100 service fee. If the new technician gives a similar denial, you're left with no repair and wasted ******* make matters worse, the technician who visited my home had no plumbing knowledge. I had to guide him on how to access and remove the cartridge, just to identify the issue myself.

      Company is acting in bad faith. Fraudulent - do not trust their service vendors, take video of them in your house - they wrongfully and consistently deny claims that should be covered by making up arbitrary assessments without fully diagnosing the issue with you appliances. I only gave one star as that is the minimum - 0 STARS DESERVED

      I would give them 0 starts if I could. Complete scam. We have a leak in our house, and they will not even send a leak detection agency to locate it. They have left us hanging for two weeks, gotten cheap plumbers that have differing opinions and have been wrong thus far, and then refuse to pay for modifications or the actual leak because one of the plumbing companies deemed it a secondary leak. It will be the worst money you spend in your life.

      We have had a broken refrigerator/freezer for eight months and they have literally spent more on trying to fix this to no avail then it would be if they were to replace the appliance. We have had two companies try to fix it and they have been out for at least ten visits. What a waste and a scam of a company! Save your money!

      I would NOT use this company. Terrible service, I have waited 2 months + now to get my dryer fixed. And I'm still waiting. I'm the one who calls & texts the ************************************ The customer ********************** can only apologize & that's the extent of what they can do. And good luck getting through to management to complain. It's the same song & dance. It is a nightmare to get any household item repaired or replaced. I will not renew my plan when it is time to. I was hoping for a better outcome.
