I have been with AHS for close to 8 years. My ********** went down and I called them. The earliest available appointment available was 4 days out. I called them to ask if they can expedite the service and after multiple escalations they denied. In my specific experience (and I hope others have better experience to share) you alcan diligently pay your premium ever month but when you call to schedule a service they will delay in the hope that if the matter is urgent you might just give up and call a contractor out of pocket who can take care of it sooner than their technycan get there - thereby avoiding the cost.

We have been dealing with no AC now for over two weeks. There have been been four tech visits with three different techs with no result. The last one has now diagnosed the issue as something that was confirmed not to be an issue on the first trip. We are older people dealing with health issues that are made more difficult to manage when living with no AC during a significant heat wave. I will be reaching out for a second opinion and no longer want to deal the company you sent.

Four months. Ten technician visits. Still no working fridge.Ive lost hundreds in spoiled groceries while American Home Shield keeps telling me parts are ordered. One tech even damaged the front of our GE Profile fridge. Not once did anyone offer a replacement, payout, or real resolutionjust delays and deflection. If this had been our heat in winter or a water heater, wed be in crisis.AHS sells peace of mind. What they delivered was four months of frustration. Were canceling and moving to a provider that doesnt hide behind policy when basic needs go unmet.

I had a kitchen sink clog at my home. As a long-time customer of ***********************************************, I submited a request since plump stopage is under coverage.AHS dispatched a plumber. The technician noted there was no clean-out under the kitchen sink and said he was unsure if it would be covered. He called AHS for confirmation. Shortly after, I received a call from AHS and was told it wouldnt be covered. Unfortunately, I was in a work meeting and couldnt fully focus on the explanation. After the call, I reviewed my AHS policy and found the following:Under Plumbing Stoppages, AHS lists coverage for:(a) Clearing of sink stoppages,(b) Clearing stoppages from an existing access point or clean-out (up to 100 feet), and (c) Clearing of lateral drain line stoppages from accessible points including p-traps and overflow ********* also specifies what is not covered, including:- Stoppages that can only be accessed via roof vents or removing a toilet,- Collapsed or damaged drain/vent lines outside the covered home,- Stoppages due to tree roots, even if inside the ******* situation clearly does NOT fall under any of these exclusions:The kitchen clog was not in a roof vent, did not require removing a toilet, and was fully accessible through an existing drain point. The technician even offered to fix it out of pocket for $385, which I accepted and he resolved the issue in less than an hour. That alone proves the stoppage was reasonably accessible.I called AHS again, but the customer ********************** said there was an earthquake on his end and he could not continue in the middle. I followed up with the ************************* but they told me the denial decision would not be reversed, without offering a clear or policy-based explanation.I was disappointed to have it denied based on a vague and seemingly inaccurate interpretation of the policy. I am requesting that AHS review this claim again in good faith, based on the clear language of the coverage terms.

AHS drags their feet in getting your appliances serviced in a timely manner. There is always 2 days between every question and answer. They used to be much better. The out of pocket costs they assign to your fix, makes me reconsider using them. I'm probably better using my own vendors immediately, than to wait to use theirs and have it take weeks for service.

If I could chose zero-stars, I would do that. Its a joke working with them. They only have super unprofessional/pathetic contractors/service-providers in their network whose quality of service is way too under par and they have figured out the loophole how to rig system and say these things are not covered under warranty and consumer needs to be pay way more out-of-pocket on repairs. In my case, have a water-heater which needs replacement and service provider is asking 600$ of non-covered costs from warranty and expecting me to pay. When I did reach out to American Home Shield for cash-out option, they giving me literally peanuts of 300$ which doesn't even suffice for labor cost of water heater installation in today's world. Average water-heater installation costs are typically around 1000$ and equipment would be around 500-600$, so roughly around 1500$ on an average. I do understand these folks get bulk discounts with equipment/service and it should cost them around 1000$, but they offering me just 300$ cash-out to me is biggest joke of the year. They literally scamming people, please stay away from these big jokers and you can live in peace or take your business to someone else. When we signing up with them, they all talk fancy words and marketing stuff, but when it comes to quality of work, nightmare to work with them. I had similar issues with them in past and I was hoping that it was my bad luck, but with my current experience and their quality of service, I am planning to run away from these bunch of jokers and throwing this policy into a trash-can. I hope other consumers who read this reviews can understand what kind of frustrations I might be going through while writing this review.Stay Away.....Stay Away......Stay...Away.......Stay Away......Stay Away.

Had them for 3 years and I had 3 issues, heater, plumbing, and recently AC. All three they claimed "modifications" and would only cover$250. This of course is their scam. I literally watched each one of these repairs and they were all direct removal and replacement of the same parts, no modifications whatsoever. They need to be investigated for out right fraud. This "modifications" loophole/scam needs to be looked at as a class action lawsuit.

Does not even GET a "1 Star" from me..!!! This company is nothing but PROBLEMS but they are so glad to take your money w no results...!! I can express nothing but frustrations with delays, inadequate repairs, and difficulties with customer **********************. They kicked me down the road over three months for a repair and I had to come out of my pocket for all repairs ($760 tankless hot water & $3K for a slab leak. Also w/ delaying the repair past my renewal date to make me renewal coverage. You will be lucky to speak to anyone you can understand, they promise a 24hr call back, more like 4 days. They wanted to pay $64 for an over $5K repair. After calling many times and asking many to speak to a supervisor was blown off for another 48 hrs, finally after supervisor called back told me she only wanted to hear 2 words, yes or no on the $64 pay out. All persons, customer **********************, etc are unprofessional and reading from a scrip along w calling after 9pm @ night. Took an act of ******** to cancel my contract due to such bad service...!!! I will not tell anyone to go w this company ,, only RUN FAR AWAY FROM AMERICAN HOME SHIELD....!!!!

** went out. Waited about a week for technician. Technician checked system out and did not replace any of the caps that he removed. He stated that the system could not be fixed and he suggested replacement and that was on a Saturday. He said he would let his office know about his recommendation. Waited until Wednesday, with no updated information so we called. Our case was reported as being complete but we still had no air. After speaking to many, many, AHS representatives that said the exact same thing in the exact same order each time, we got nowhere. They continued to put me on hold each time to contact the company ********. Every phone call was met with disappointment and no definite answers but instead promises of calling back and moving forward. The reps were extra concerned with me giving them ratings of all 5s. That seemed to be their biggest concern. After case was reopened ******** said a part was on order but their tech had said the unit couldnt be fixed. After 3 weeks of waiting for the part, FOXCROFT called and asked that we get a photo of the unit so they would know the part that needed to be ordered. After waiting 3 weeks for a part they said was already ordered, he was in fact calling to order the part. The next day he called to say the part was obsolete. Now they would need to replace the system, so it was like starting all over with all the calls to AHS and as the temperatures got into the 90s, we could never get answers. We care for toddlers and a senior, we could no longer play the AHS game. We finally asked to give us a cash out because it had been over a month with no air. We contacted local **** companies that came out the same week, quoted the job and said they could install the system by the end of the week. Sadly paying American Home Shield almost ***** per month for years and years, the payout they are promising us is only ******! The unit they were promising was *****. All these years paying monthly and they are only paying us ******!
