      I was a current customer of 8 years and received an email about a promotional offer to upgrade my account for a few dollars more. The sales rep called to review everything and said the new amount would be taken out on the 24th as usual. I get off the phone and have an alert saying $204.00 was taken from my account by American Home Shield. As soon as I called them back they said their accounts system was down and to call back in an hour. After 7 hours I finally got through to the cancellation department. They kept using different sales tactics to keep me from canceling and getting a refund of $204.00. I asked numerous of times to speak to a supervisor and was just kept on hold. No matter how many times I said I wanted to cancel my account and no longer do business with them I was placed on hold. THEY WILL NOT LET YOU CANCEL AND HOPE YOU HANG UP WITH THE LONG HOLDING TIMES!

      I think AHS is the worst people to ever deal with, they are full of lies and deceit. The contractor came out to look at my AC and said the compressor was bad, ***** for freon, a new unit was *****, and some change, so why couldn't they replace the whole unit? I called the contractor that came out and they admitted that AHS would be willing to nickel and dime me as long as I allowed it. That company offered to sell me a new unit behind AHS's back. I canceled the contract with AHS, they took my last payment out of my account after it had been canceled a whole month. No, I have nothing good ever to say about AHS. Stay away if you know what's good for you. Oh, and I paid the $100.00 for the contractor to show up for nothing.

      American Home Shield has been a huge disappointment. I have put in several service requests in my time with them, and NONE of them have been resolved in a timely manner. I have gone weeks and even months without properly working appliances, including a clothes dryer (2 months), a furnace, AC, and refrigerator (2+ months). Currently, they have unsuccessfully attempted to have my refrigerator fixed multiple times. They said they needed to order a part, which would take 2-3 weeks to arrive. After the part did not arrive after 4 weeks, I called the appliance company, and they said that the warranty company should have contacted me and told me that the part was not coming and the appliance company would no longer be involved. They are now proposing to come to my home, remove a necessary component, and leave me without a fridge at all for another 2-3 weeks. The other option is to have me find the part on my own, have it installed, and then they would reimburse me $175 2-3 weeks after confirmation that the part was installed. They just take way too long to fix things, but will process your service charge immediately before even putting in your service request.

      Signed up thinking it was going to be a good deal, after deeper research and looking at reviews, I decided it sounded too good to be true. I cancelled my plan back in May 2022. For the past 4 months since then, I keep receiving consistent calls telling me I'm late on payments, my account will be shut down, past due notices in the mail. I have told these people at least 10 times now, I cancelled my service to which they reply with, "Let me check. Oh yes, it looks like you have cancelled we will put in a note to stop calling". Then about a week later, I'll get another call.You people need to get your s!$t together. Stop calling me and contacting me. I DON'T want your scam services. This company should be sued for harassment.

      I noticed a smell of gas. I had 2 different techs come in and look and it and say it needed to be replaced because it wasn't up to code due to venting issues and needed to be replaced also due to age (serial number couldn't even be looked up it was so old). The second tech was ready to do the work there and now with most techs having a long back log. I called AHS who assigned me a third tech. I immediately informed them I wanted the cashout option to go with this other tech. They said that was fine and they would send in their tech to approve. They never said what the next steps would be so I thought once he approved it that would be it. The AHS assigned tech was great and did his work to approve. He told he me he was approving the work so I contacted my preferred technician who did the work. I still never heard anything from AHS. I kept in contact with AHS assigned tech who said they would send a check to him and forward to me. I thought that sounded like a weird system, but went with it. After about 6 weeks after work had been completed. I called AHS who said they had no record of work being approved and there would be no money. They said they would call me back that day, I didn't hear from them again until I called them back a week later. In the meantime, I contacted AHS assigned tech who said work was approved and he had a check from AHS in his hand that he was going to forward to me. The check covered about 1/4 of the cost to replace furnace. I called AHS again after never hearing back from them and they said they would review with cash out office and call me back that day. Again, never heard back. Called AHS back again a week later and was told no additional money coming because I didn't wait to speak with cashout **** before proceeding. They indicated all this was my fault because I didn't somehow know to contact them after I hadn't heard anything to get permission to proceed even though tech said approved. This company is a gigantic rip off/scam.

      I found AHS to be helpful and friendly. I've had my contract for only a few months when my microwave went out. The repairman said It could not be fixed and I was going to get a new one. The only complaint I have is the repairman took 3 weeks to get here. I called AHS and they sent someone out that week. So, I was satisfied. There was no delivery or installation or haul off charges. I feel confident with them.

      If I could give less than one star, I would. This company cannot take care of a simple service request because they refuse to listen to the issue. Two of their contractors refused the service order and the third has such a bad local reputation, I refused to have them at my home. When asked for another service provider, American Home Shield representative(s) assured me that a new one was assigned. I was assigned the first contractor AGAIN - who had already said they didn't do that type of work. Asked for another - got the second contractor AGAIN. Cancelled work order and in process of cancelling contract. Stay far away from this company!

      American Home Shield is the worst Warranty we have ever had. We called them on a leaky kitchen faucet and shut off valve. When the plumber showed up, he could only fix the shut off valve, because AHS will only allow one item per I ket, with a separate service call charge per ticket. Also, they would not touch the replacement of the faucet, because AHS does not cover leaks or replacement of faucets. Then I called them out to repair the Dish Washer and would not repair the controller because it was again, something they said they didn't do. So I ask them what they REALLY cover? Didn't get a real good answer and a lot of double talk. It was about them, I realized I had been wasting my money. That is why I gave them a 1 star. I wish they had a MINUS 1 that I could pick.Dtay away from these ripoff artist. They are bad news!

      A dishonest company with arrogant customer **********************.. ** months later I just made a service request for HVAC issue... Vendor no show!! I used my own and didn't even request anything from AHS, all I wanted is a refund of my 100 bucks that they charged for the no show... Looks like they have a queue for refund requests and it will take 21 days to refund.. my foot..The insults continued.. I wanted to cancel the contract and I'm out on a waiting list again to cancel and they have an admin fee lol, a fee of one month, my policy just got renewed, ideally they got to refund for the month plus the 100.. This was my first ever service request with AHS as my home is fairly new, I was thinking I got some kind of warrant.. nope.. with this company with crazy arrogant customer support who hangs up calls and dishonest crooks.. not sure how they even survived yet!
