  A terrible firm, dreadful service. We had our dishwasher die, and it took American Shield about 3 months, and FOUR different service firms (all their choice) to confirm over and over that our dishwasher was not fixable. Then they stonewalled us, and demanded a 5th firm come for yet another service call. We finally threatened to call the BBB, and a district ********** finally gave us a low-ball offer ($1,000) yet it took $1,400 to get a comparable dishwasher. We felt totally ripped off but got tired of months with a broken dishwasher. Rude service reps!! Our realtor swore shed never use them again.

  ******************** sound like rapists, you keep telling them no, you do not want services to start, and they keep finding ways to make you say yes. They lie when you do not want services to start and request a cancellation email, instead I got a welcome new member email. This is not a good start with considering accepting services from this business.

  Called AHS for plumbing problem. Took 4 days for scheduled appt. In the mean time I plunged and plunged,left my house for 2 days then he came.. He ran water in the utility sink that some how gathered toilet tissue to cause blockage I think. I told him when I flushed the toilet I could hear gurgling in kitchen sink and bathtub along with stopped up utility tub that I plunged. He never looked at anything,only ran water in sink. The water drained with no problem and he said it resolved itself. 2days later it backed up again . I call AHS again. Neither AHS rep or myself could reach this plumber. For 2 days no one answered phone or returned call after leaving messages. Finally AHS scheduled me with a different business. At first she gave me the name of a plumber in ********* **. That's 21/2 hrs from my house.! I could bearly understand what they were saying. I ask her to give me some other locations that I thought would be closest to my home. Finally I could understand ********* which is 45 minutes from my house . I said I would use them out of frustration. They couldn't come until Friday. That makes it 10 days since my initial call. I was told he would be at my house between 12 - 4. He was a no Show. ! I cancelled my contract with AHS . Paid for a hometown plumber to take care of problem in 1 day. The next day, the guy that was supposed to come on Friday showed up. He said he just got the order. I told him he was to late. AHS says I have to $34.95 for early cancel and administration fee. I said I'm not paying it.! The way I see it, they owe me my $125.00. She said she would make a note of that.

  AHS warranty is a scam. I paid premiums for a year and half. Requested service for my home ** repair. The technician advised leak in the coil. AHS advised me that the portion of my responsibility will be $3050. He was not willing to disclose the portion of AHS responsibility or the total cost of repair. Upon checking with the service contractor, I realized that the cost of the repair is between **** and **** without insurance. AHS is probably paying even less with their pre-negotiated rates with contractor. They also charged me 100 dollars upfront service fee for diagnosis. I requested for cash out option, so that I can pay the remaining amount to get the work done. AHS offered me 393 dollars if I spent my money to fix the ** correctly to the specification and submit the paperwork. I was so frustrated with the whole experience and cancelled my contract. They charged me another 41,50 dollars for cancellation fee on top. This a worst company to deal with. Please stay away.

  A/C is out-Service ************ was sent out and I will quote word for word what is on the invoice. " System pressures are very low. I found refrigerant leak in evaporator coil for downstairs system. Need to order and replace coil. Refrigerant cost for 5 lbs $700". Then got an email from AHS to call them only to find out that they are denying repair due to damage that is not from normal wear and tear. No where on this invoice does it state this and the technician that came out did not state that there was any damage to the system that was not from normal use. What game are these two companies playing??? Now they want to send another company out of their choosing for a second opinion.

  Save your money. I am customer with this company and they do not look after their customers. About to cancel my contract and submit a BBB complaint. They send you a mediocre company to come and fix the issue, and when there is an issue, they side with the contractor.

  I have been with American Home Shield for many years and never had a bad experience. They are in time, knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend them.

  No concern for customers, telling you you have to wait 48 hrs ,even after the assigned company has already missed a appointment that They made!AHS is one of the WORST companies I've ever dealt with. VERY Unsatisfied.

  WARNING: Dont waste your time or money. You are better off putting your money away for repairs later down the line. Response time is slow and they replace name brand items with cheap generic items.

  AHS told us they would repair our air conditioner if anything went wrong and if they couldn't repair it, they would replace it. We paid then every month for 10 years and when we needed help, they were useless. They sent a guy out who said we had a leak and the whole unit really needed to be replaced. The only help AHS offered was to pay $10 a pound for the freon which costs $130 a pound. That is all we got for paying them for ten years. We called to cancel and now we are getting PAST DUE notices!
