Parked in a Mckinley lot, app did not download so I could not pay it online. Was charged outrageous $70 violation fee for a $10 parking charge due to failure on the company's part to have a working manner of payment. I contacted the company to dispute the charge. Was ignored first time. Second time I disputed they denied my appeal. I paid the charge but want a refund and want this company held accountable for scamming parkers with a system that does not work and does not allow the customer to pay at the time of parking.Business Response

On 8/27/22 I parked for less than an hour and thirty minutes at 1055 Pine Street in Nashville. I took the steps to pay for the parking. When I reviewed my bank account there was pending $6 charge on the date, but I didn't receive an email confirmation. A month later I received a violation with a $70.25. I don't mind paying the $6 parking fee, but the $70.25 ticket fine is ridiculous. This is the second time this has happened to me in the past year. I paid the fee the first time since I live in Texas and every review on this company states there is nobody to help you and if you don't pay it, they will take you to court.Business Response

I have been a paid patron of the same parking garage in the gulch for years, and I had my car registered with my payment information such that I would automatically be charged when I used the garage. When the state of TN renewed my license plate to the new blue plate, the number changed. And when I parked in the garage for my usual parking, the readers of course didn't associate the license plate # with my payment method. It was obviously not my intention not to pay - it just didn't occur to me that I was not automatically paying with the change. I then received two bills for parking ($6 each) with ticket fines ($70.25 each). I would be happy to pay for the parking as was my usual custom. But the fines are outrageous. As soon as I realized it, I changed my license plate ID with their system so it won't happen again.
The bigger issue is the way this was handled. There is no way to talk to a person and try to explain this problem. I sent emails and routed my violations through their appeals process. There was no communication other than to say my appeal was rejected and I needed to pay before the price increased more. I again asked to speak to a person and I was unable to get any contact information to talk to a person about this issue. I was not trying to not pay - and I would happily pay the parking fees but the violation is not appropriate in this instance.Business Response

Two garage parking tickets occurred on 8/18 (morning and evening). There was not an attendant present, and the duration of parking was less than 2 hours. The cost to park was $5 but apparently there is a fine of $30 extra for each occurrence. This is excessive. In addition, the notification of this ticket/fine occurred longer than 30 days. We were not notified in a timely manner and proceeded to park there again (have not received any more tickets) still with no attendant present.. We would not park there again if we knew how ********* conducted themselves. C'Mon Man!!Business Response

I parked in the 514Church St lot 8/13/22. I used the ** scanner to put my credit card info in to pay what I thought would be no more that a $40 charge. I received a Notice of Parking ticket for $110.25 representing a $40 Parking fare and a ticket fine by of $70.25. I looked on my credit card and found the had charged me $2.99. I have disputed the charge numerous times but it doesn't seem to be going through. I have sent them the copy of my credit card bill and acknowledged that I owed them $37.01 but not $110.25. I finally received a notice that because I hadn't responded they were closing the dispute. I emailed them back and said I didn't want it closed as it had not be removed. I tried to go in and pay the $37.01 but could only pay the total charge of $110.25. I wanted to speak to a live person but couldn't find a number to contact anyone. My Metropolis Violation number is *********** and my Dispute number is ******.Business Response

I would like to dispute this ticket violation for parking in a parking lot in *********, but the company is just giving me the run around. I saw a news article saying there have been over 130 reports filed against this company for the same reason. It seems to me they're running a scam on people. According to all the other stories I read, their payment options at the parking lot do not work aside from putting cash in a box which my son did! My son paid $20 cash to a machine when he parked there. He was only there for one hour and 18 minutes and you all send a ticket in the mail for a $20 unpaid parking fare and then it has a ticket fine of $70.25, so you're going to charge a total of $90.25 for a one hour parking that is crazy and I want to speak to someone who can help me have it disputed because I tried to call and they tell me that they can't do it over the phone I have to do it online which I've already done but have yet to receive a response other than them telling me over & over to file a dispute. They should have to close their business and refund all the money they've repeatedly overcharged people.Copy of ticket attached for reference on time & date and other info.Business Response

No, it's not satisfactory at all! Their response states they've replied to my complaint by email, no they've sent repeated computer generated response saying I need to file a claim and each time it directs me back & forth between the two sites. They just want to keep putting me off.Business Response

My position remains the same. They are trying to scam people out of money gor bogus "tickets" because they don't respond and then immediately deny all disputes. After closing mine twice, they offered to let us pay $50 instead of the original price. So that leads me to believe it's absolutely a scam. When I pushed back on them they all of a sudden want to change their mind. Nope, it's a scam and needs to be stopped.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:their response is untrue. They reached out and said they were canceling/denying my dispute and closing the ticket. I replied and stated that was unfair so they offered to charge $50 instead of the original price to which I said no because its an unfair system that does not take payment correctly and theres tons of proof that theyre doing this to many, it needs to stop. So, yes I did respond. They did not respond to me.

Parked at the Premier garage on ***************** on 9/22/22. No visible pay stations in the garage only scan to pay. Attempted several times on different scan to pay signs posted throughout the garage and it did not work. Weeks later I received a letter in the mail with no contact information but $25.00 unpaid parking fare and $70.25 violation fine for a total of $95.25. The violation fee is astronomical. I have no problem paying the parking in-fact we tried several times to pay the fee before exiting the garage & no one was available in person or able to contact by phone for assistance . It is unfair to customers to have to pay outrageous fees when a company's scan to pay doesn't work.Business Response

This complaint is about company Premier parking (Metropolis). This company is conducting fraudulent and unfair business against consumers. On 08/24/2022 I parked my wife's ******** ****** car in the parking lot located on 118 Church Ave SE, Roanoke,VA24011. I paid for a parking with my credit card and for payment I used one of the machines on the parking lot, since their online payment system didn't work. I displayed my payment receipt on the front windshield of the car. Almost month later I received parking ticket for $78,25. Metropolis is claiming that I didn't pay for a parking. I provided company with a proof of payment - transaction from my credit card. Metropolis asking to provide parking payment receipt which obviously I don't have since I am not keeping paper parking receipts and as I mentioned before payment was'nt made online (in that case I would have electronical receipt). Consumers should not be penalized for non existing violations, because of companie's system or service issues. It is not my or any other consumer's responsibility that Premier parking or Metropolis are not capable fairly manage their business. I provided Metropolis with proof of payment, but they are not willing to dismiss this false violation ticket. I cosidering this act of company unfair and fraudulent. Based on my research online, this company systematicaly conducting this type of unfair business not only in Roanoke,VA and Virginia, but also in other States. You can find significiant amount of consumers who was penalized from Metropolis or Premier parking unfairly in the same way I am now. I really hope for a proper action against Metropolis and Premier parking for their unfair and fraudulent activities. I am adding all the documention which supporting my complaint - email conversations with Metropolis representatives and my violation tiket, as well my payment for a parking. I will pay in meantime Metropolis requested fine in $78.25, since my dispute is closed (denied) now.Business Response

I am satisfied that company finally dismissed the violation ticket, however it does not justify wrong doing of company in general. It is not acceptable that company did not dismiss violation ticket in dispute process. It is not acceptable that outside institutions should be involved to resolve dispute in straight forward dispute. The opened question is unfair business practice against consumers from company.Initial Complaint

I have received two parking violations from the company. They do not have a pay kiosk but rather you scan the app and pay. In both scenarios, I scanned the app and was never given the opportunity to pay. I tried multiple times and even had staff from the establishments I as visiting assist with no success. After this happened a second time (August 17, 2022), I immediately sent an email to the help email located on their website (see attached). The automatic generated note stated that I could close the visit myself which would have been ok if the visit was registered. I could never get the website to recognize my visit in the parking garage.
In both situations, I received a $70.25 fine which is 11 times the amount the parking cost ($6.00). This is ridiculous and a scam. I think their technology is intentionally not working and it's a way to make money off of people. I'm a pretty technologically savvy individual and I can't get it to work. Unfortunately, in the Metro Nashville areas, this company is taking over lots and there is no recourse for the consumer. You can't reach a human to talk and when I tried to dispute my case via email, I received a generic email that said it was denied.
I'm ok if I have to pay a small fee but this company is ripping people off. Something has got to be done about this.Business Response
