We were visiting ********* on July 4th, 2022. My husband is a 100% Disabled, Active Duty Veteran and have his disability VA plate. One of the specific rights to Disabled veterans plate affords it's owner in the majority of states is that he can park in any designated disabled parking, any metered, time restricted, on street space for free and with no time restriction. We stopped at this parking and didn't know if we could park there. There was a police officer in the parking lot and we asked him if we had to pay in that particular one. He told us that the parking was a private one so we immediately left. . That is not the way to treat your veterans or your first time tourist to your city.We request that you facilitate a fair resolution to this matter and look forward to your written response.Sincerely,********************************************* Sincerely, ********************************************* They are refusing to dismiss the ticket or allows to appeal.I received from Metropolis payments a parking ticket for $120.25. I don't understand their response. All emails I have received from them says that they denied my claim and have closed the case and want me to pay the ticket.
They haven't tried to resolve my case at all.
So are they now saying that they will resolve this issue? Are they disregarding the ticket? If yes , I want a written notice from them.
Please clarify for me their response.
Thank you for your help.Customer Answer

I just received today a Final Notice from Metropolis Payments.
As you can see they are NOT trying to resolve the issue.
We will not pay this ticket because is unjustified.
I gave them the explanation for why we shouldn't pay.
WE DID NOT PARK there after the officer explained to my husband that it was a private parking. The picture they have is while my husband was talking to the officer that was there. I was sitting in the car and I was not even driving it, my husband was.
I appreciate if you can help us with his matter.
Thank you, *******************************************

I have tried to resolve this issue with the business for months.
I was on vacation in Nashville and parked in one of their lots. I registered my car and supplied my debit card. I saw not the app my information. I checked the "app" while I had lunch and all looked good. THEN - four months later, I got a violation from them saying I parked without paying and staying they were charging me $82.25! Entirely idiotic. I had followed the instructions to a T. Horrible experience! I will never park in one of their lots again.
When I reached out to McKinley they said they would adjust it to the $12.0 charge, but that has never happened. Once I reached back out they said send us details from the app. They app is only showing my September trip now!! SO frustrating! I am willing to pay the parking, just feel the extra fees are a scam!Business Response

I have received 5 parking violations in the mail from McKinley Payments. I own a Buick Enclave (SUV) registered in NC. The photos on the tickets show a Chevy truck with a license plate issued in a state that is not NC. The parking facility is Fannin St. Houston Texas. I have never been to TX. My Buick Enclave has never been to TX. I have disputed each ticket on mckinleypayments.com. An email from them said "state records indicate you are the registered owner... If this is not your vehicle, provide documented proof, etc.. " If they are searching state records then they should clearly see that they have the wrong the vehicle/owner. I'm very disappointed that i was charged $75 for not pulling out of the lot when in reality i was under the hour but i had trouble getting out due to other cars pulling in and out and not letting me out. I'm a young college student and $75 for a 5 minute difference because of others is so ridiculous i do not have the funds for that. I would have paid the $6 to park an hour had i known it would take that long to get out of the poorly constructed parking lot. Not to forget the fact i filed a dispute explaining and they closed the case without any explanation or willingness to work a little bit with me. 5 MINUTES past the hour, 5!!! Have a little graceBusiness Response

Date: 8/20/22 Ticket#: *********** Received ticket about a month later. No posted signage around or near the garage indicating that this is a paid garage. Drove around looking for a place to pay, didn't see one, assumed free. No gate to enter. Entered on weekend when parking meters are off. Filed a dispute alleging no posted signage and asked to provide photos or evidence of said signage. Dispute was denied without any reason or correspondence. Unclear whether it was a real person or not.Customer Answer

I have looked around at some of the complaints on ****** reviews and gathered info from what others are saying. A common complaint is that people look for a kiosk to pay but the company changed their method to a ** code instead without posting obvious signage to indicate this change. This has led many to believe the tickets are a scam or that the business has illegal business practices. Some have even tried the ** code but the website doesn't work. If no one can access the site, they shouldn't rely on this method to pay. I'll continue to investigate the legality of this. Some have claimed they have reported this company to the State of Tennessee. If I do not receive a refund, I will also report this company to the state, any party involved, as well as notifying state legislature. I will need to pay on October 7th to avoid further incursions. If this is not cleared by then I will submit another inquiry and change to request a refundCustomer Answer

On 7/30/2022 I entered a parking lot owned by Premier Parking in Nashville, Tn. There was no area to obtain a parking ticket or to register our vehicle. We were in the lot for 1 hour and 1 minute (entered at 8:00 PM - exited at 9:01). Upon exiting the un-manned machine called for the downloading of an app - which we could not do with two different ********. We attemped to pay by credit card but the machine would not take any of the 3 cards we had (our credit is impeccable). This process took about 10 minutes and there were several cars lined up behind us. Out of frustration, we left - knowing there would probably be some kind of penalty for the unpaid parking space. Approximately 3 weeks later we received a letter from McKinley Payments (violation # XXX-XXX-XXX) charging us $10.00 for the unpaid parking fee PLUS a VIOLATION FINE OF $70.25 - for a total of $80.25. Charging a 700+% penalty is egregious and, certainly arbitrary. This is an absolute scam that this, private, company is allowed to charge whatever they want in the form of a penalty. A 5-10% penalty would be normal - NOT a 700+% penalty!!!!Business Response

Metropolis are CROOKS! A group of us went to Nashville this weekend and parked in one of their garages. There app was confusing and their service technicians lacked empathy. Nashville had a lot of traffic, so by the time we found out we had used the app correctly and tried to make our way back in the garage we were told our "10 min. Grace" period had expired. We had to pay double the amount to park in there garage. Seriously... CROOKS! Charged us 2 30 fees for one car. Overall 90 dollars! We want a refund for the first $30 because that is fair.Business Response

My daughter got a job with a company by the name of ********* for the summer of 2022. She was told where to park when she completed new hire paperwork. She gave her license plate number, which is in my name. She soon started receiving parking tickets. We were able to determine that these tickets were coming because she had renewed her tags, so her plate number changed. I attempted to explain the situation to McKinley, but was told that the manager at Kittenish would have to verify this. The manager verified this and gave McKinley the updated tag number. We received an email informing us that about 5 of the tickets had been waived. Therefore, we thought the issue was resolved. I then received additional tickets totaling around $3,000. I again disputed the tickets and provided documentation showing that some of the tickets had been waived and that we assumed all others would be treated the same. I went round and round with Metropolis, but U was told that all other tickets must be paid. The tickets were around $10-15, with a violation fee of around $70 tacked on to each. Her tickets were more than she made for the summer. My last email to Metropolis explained that these tickets should never have been charged and if I received anything else, I would turn it over to my attorney. I just received another stack of tickets threatening being turned over to collection. I am SOO frustrated. I guess I will have to ****Business Response

We have gone through this process of attempting to contact McKinley several times through their website. We have provided all documentation already. We have been completely unable to receive any help from McKinley and feel there is no need to go through this process again. They have all of the information. They just need to remove the invalid charges against me since our daughter had permission to park at this facility the entire summer. This has been going on since June and needs to be brought to a close.Business Response

We parked in a Premier garage on 8/19/22. The QR app wasn't working and would not bring up the screen for us to pay. We tried multiple times. Our payment attempts are most likely documented in security footage. Later, we received a bill from Metropolis Payments for the $6.00 parking fare and a $70.25 fine. I'm fine paying the parking fare, which we attempted to do multiple times when we parked in the Premier garage. I'm not okay with the $70.25 fine. I appealed the fine and my appeal was denied. Of course it was denied. Metropolis Payments both assessed the fine and performed the appeal review. That's not an independent review. What's to keep Metropolis Payments from charging a $7,000 fine. It's all arbitrary.Business Response

We used a parking garage they own, and upon exiting, were told by the attendant that we would be mailed a bill for parking. No signs were present to contradict him, and when we called upstairs to the doctor's office the secretary said that sounded correct. No bill arrives, but not even three weeks later I receive a violation notice, not for the $9 parking fee but now for $70.25. I call Premier and they said they contract McKinley Payments to do these fines, which INCIDENTALLY is the same address as Premier Parking. I followed the appeals process on the McKinley website and was told "Thank you for your email. We have reviewed the details surrounding your dispute and due to the information you have provided, your violation dispute has been denied. Dispute decisions are final and cannot be appealed. To avoid any additional fees, please submit payment for your violation at mckinleypayments.com by the due date printed on your violation. Your violation dispute has now been closed." Very clearly there was no intent to send us a bill, and the McKinley Payments collector sharing the same physical address implies this is their regular business model of bad behavior.Business Response
