At the beginning of August i received a unpaid parking ticket in the mail that back in june. I went ahead and paid the ticket on August 11, 2022 for $76.25. Here we are almost a month later and i was sent the same exact ticker in the mail telling me to pay the same price of $76.25. I really do feel like there is some scamming going on because they don't have a number for you to call. And when you reach out through the help desk there is automatic responses that are NO HELP. Someone in that company is trying to get extra money out of people. I can't even login in anywhere and find previous paid tickets.Business Response

A supervisor from McKinley reached out and confirmed that the ticket has been paid, and that no further action needs to be done. I am very grateful with how they handled everything.Initial Complaint

I utilized this parking lot in May 2022, registered my information and assumed it would be saved for all future parking since it was registered to my license plate, similar to other parking lots in the TMC area. I returned to the parking lot on 6/6/22. I later received a statement that I owe $77.25 for failure to pay. Needless to say I was mad, but I paid the bill on 8/8/22 with proof of debit from my bank account. I received another notice for payment today, 9/1/22. I assumed this was in error and went online and typed in my violation number. To my surprise, it says I still owe money. I opened a claim and attached a picture of my debit from my bank account, and the immediate response was "In order for us to base a decision regarding your dispute we will need confirmation of the payment submitted through ********** for your visit on (license plate no.). The receipt must be from ********** and show the date the payment went through to be accepted." I have searched my emails from 8/3/22, date of payment, and I cannot locate such email. After reading other reviews this is not uncommon practice of McKinley/********** Parking. They continue to scam those forced to use their parking lots in hopes no one will find out. It needs to stop.Business Response

I received a notice for a parking violation that I did not make. I was no where near Nashville on the day this alleged violation occurred. The picture on the letter is not my vehicle. There is no way to contact company regarding this issue.Business Response

On 4/26/22 I escorted my wife to her OB for an appointment in Houston concerning her latest pregnancy. We arrived at the parking garage and drove through the entrance normally, in fact the arm was raised still from others pulling in before us. There was no/poor signage at that time depicting how to pay for parking. We aren't from a big city so this process was new to us. Upon exiting the garage, we got to the kiosk and the arm opened to let us out. I thought this was weird, but being unfamiliar with the process I was thinking that I may receive a bill in the mail. Sure enough, I did receive that bill along with $70.25 worth on fines. I've reached out to McKinley multiple times to explain our situation in hopes to have the fine removed, but they simply closed my case and said they wouldn't do anything about it. I find their customer service extremely poor and unforgiving to people who make a mistake. I've since been back to that garage and see the signage is highly visible now and have used their service without issue. I find their way of handling violations to be predatory and threatening to take people to collections over a $12.00 parking fee is ridiculous. I've offered to pay my parking fare 4 different times and they refuse to listen. There's no contact phone number to speak with someone either. My violation number is XXX-XXX-XXX.Business Response

******, a supervisor for McKinley payments, reached out to me to deny my request based on her inaccurate interpretation of information within my complaint. My complaint centralized around the method of payment for parking was not clear and visible and it's apparent that I'm not the only one who had this issue. I'm requesting that they drop the exorbitant fees they tacked on to my parking fare because their signage on payment process at their parking garage was not clearly visible the day in question. It's a predatory practice to threaten customers with collections if they do not pay their violation which was over $70 on a $12 parking fare.Business Response

I was visiting Austin and I was staying at the hotel around the corner from this parking lot. This is a very busy area. There was construction happening all over and some of the streets were closed. The signs are very confusing and I thought this was the parking for the hotel so I went in, not realizing that this was not the hotel's parking. When I went into the hotel, I asked the front desk if there was closer parking b/c I had to park around the corner, they advised me that their parking was on the other side. I proceeded to move my car. I was not parked for more than 20minutes and that was due to have to walk around the construction from the hotel and back to my car to move it. The sign read "Public Parking for Guest and Residence" and I was thinking that it was for the hotel guests until the hotel front desk clarified it.
I submitted a dispute to McKinley and asking for this to be waive since I did not stay overnight and I wasn't parked there for more than 20 minutes. I received a denial email 5 minutes later, knowing very well that my request was not even taken into consideration. I emailed them back and ask for a supervisor or manager to call me back but I did not get a response. I have until 9/20th to pay my bill or other wise pay another penalty. This was an honest mistake and I'm being penalized for it. Attached is a copy of the violation notice and the time stamp shows that I was only there for 17 minutes exactly, that's for the 5 or 6 minutes it took me to find the hotel, maybe 5 minutes to ask the front desk about their parking and another 5 or 6 minutes to go back move my car. This is a unjust and a scam. If they aren't going to take a look at the dispute, why provide a disclosure on their notice of their website for disputes?Business Response

No one has reached out to me nor have taken my request into consideration. Once again, I emailed them because that's the only way to contact them, and I received the same "premature" response. I need someone to look into my requests. I've attached a copy of the 2nd response from McKinley Payments. Please don't close this until I get a response from a supervisor or manager that has reviewed my case.

NO ONE HAS REACHED OUT TO ME TO DISCUSS MY DISPUTE / CONCERN. I'VE EMAILED AND SUBMITTED A DISPUTE THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE. THE ONLY RESPONSE I'VE GOTTEN IS THAT MY REQUEST HAS BEEN CLOSED BUT YET NO ONE HAS REACH OUT TO ME NOR REVIEW MY DISPUTE. SEEMS LIKE THEIR NORMAL PROCESS IS TO AUTOMATIC DENIED ALL DISPUTES. I'M REQUESTING A PHONE OR EMAIL TO DISCUSS. I WILL CONTINUE TO REACH OUT TO SOMEONE AT MCKINLEY.

Keep getting told I parked and did not pay. The car and license plate are not mine and the location is somewhere I have never been. They provide nothing to prove the car was even there on that date. In fact, they don't even provide a make and model for the car. I have no idea how they think I'm responsible. Violation number is XXX-XXX-XXX.
Likely just a criminal cartel. Continued harassment demanding me provide them evidence their accusation is wrong without offering any substantiation of their original claim. It's a criminal shakedown operation and that the AG should investigate.Business Response

I have repeatedly been in contact with this email address. They are the obstructionists (or criminals) who believe somehow the burden of proof for their fictitious claim is on me.
They made this up. I confirmed any car that could be legally registered to me was not there. The photo they sent does not look like any car I owned in May. It is made up.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/09/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The only thing they've sent me directly is a demand for me to prove their fake thing is fake. I've wasted so much time on this just to disprove their shakedown. It's like dealing with the mafia. I trust the attorney general will have better success.
I don't even know what car they're talking about. I have never been to that location. No car I know about has ever been to the location. I don't even have any record of owning a car with the license plate they provided.
How am I supposed to provide a bill of sale for a car I don't own? They won't even provide a make and model to I could think through potential past cars where there could be a government snafu.
It's a criminal shakedown. They probably do this to thousands of people, knowing a reasonable percentage will pay out of habit.

June 5th 2022 I parked in a parking lot in Nashville and paid cash to a parking lot attendant. And received a parking pass for the evening. Couple hours later I came out and left a week or so later I received a letter in the mail stating I did not pay the parking fees and needed to pay the fines.. I contacted the company and stated I would not be paying the fees because I'd already paid a parking lot attendant along with other vehicles behind me that evening. I have contacted the company twice with no with no response back.. I've recently been in the last 3 days Ive received another notice stating I still need to pay the fees. I sent another email hoping someone will contact me back about this matter.Business Response

I attended a graduation in May 2022 and received a letter from "McKinley Payments" not long after, detailing a "parking violation". They had a snapshot of my vehicle nowhere near/inside the parking garage I was said to skip payment. I filed my dispute on the website, received a denial through email a month later. Today, I received a "final notice" of payment due in the amount of $95.25. Unpaid parking fare $25 and Violation fine is $70.25.

I have taken this step already and the rep was unwilling to meet my request due to their being "clear instruction on payment parking". The parking garage I was instructed to park in (by a metro officer due to heavy graduation traffic) told me my vehicle was fine and did not mention a fee for parking, nor did I see a sign for payment. I have always paid the appropriate fee for parking when going downtown. I am NOT confident in McKinley Payment's ability to do the right thing and waive this charge I DO NOT owe. If they are willing to waive the fine/fees I will be glad to reach out again. If not, please don't waste my time. I shouldn't have to go through these great lengths to prove I didn't do anything wrong.
