My business partner parked in downtown Nashville on 11 April 2022, to take care of some paperwork. He paid, as instructed by the signs, took care of business and left. A month or so later we received a parking violation from McKinley Payments in the amount of $85+ with photos of the vehicle. We have both filed disputes along with the evidence of payment, and have received nothing but a number of automated emails back. We have the online receipt from ********** and bank statements to prove that the original $15.99 fee was paid. I have contacted ******** Parking (with little to no information received), attempted to contact ********** (only online), and McKinley Payments only does business by email. The automated email says a human will contact us; however, we have never been contacted. As of 18 August 2022, this has still not been resolved. It is my belief that all three of these companies are working in unison to scam people out of additional money. As a matter of principle, I absolutely REFUSE to pay any additional "penalties" considering the original fee was paid.Business Response

Yes I have received an email from this company and this case has been resolved. It should not have taken 4 months, and all of this nonsense, to get this situation squared away.Initial Complaint

On July 16th, 2022 my family took a vacation to Nashville and everyone was curious about Downtown. We went to this parking area because it was empty and I knew that further more in Downtown that it might be crowded and possibly expensive. My family got off the truck to find the booth to pay or a machine. At the same time, a man driving an electric scooter got hit by a car. We were unable to download the app and made sure the man hurt wasn't dead. Unfortunately parking prices were expensive and we didn't use a card. Only cash in hand. I had difficulty putting family in truck and we left. Weeks later and I received a large bill of $74.25 and I believe this is too abusive for only 6 minutes. I am looking to dispute this violation. I don't own a card to pay and really unacceptable for only 6 minutes. In Memphis, we are given a chance to pay with coins or cash in Downtown area. I feel like this company abused the very short time we used.Business Response

I actually got a human response email after I sent them a second notice that I had to write a complaint with BBB and Federal Trade Commission. I was sent an apology and a waiver. This email was sent to me minutes later after sending the BBB complaint.Initial Complaint

On July 2022, I took my mom to this parking lot to try to pay for parking. Unfortunately there was no booths or machines that could've possibly accepted cash. I helped my mom load the family back into 2 vehicles and left. Weeks later, I received a huge bill of $74.25 for only 6 minutes. My mom had also received the same bill.. I attempted to contact using the customer service but no answer. My mom helped me with a 2nd attempt. She was able to contact them and BBB for her bill. I don't know why this company was being abusive with a huge fee for only 6 minutes. I probably wouldn't parked there in the first place if there was a huge warning sign that demanded immediate payment before parking. In Memphis we choose a spot then we paid to park by hourBusiness Response

I parked in a downtown Houston parking garage to go to my doctor. My doctor validated the parking ticket so that I have no parking charges to pay. Upon leaving the garage, the parking gate was up, so I drove out. I later received a letter from McKinley payments asking for an enormous sum of money in parking charges saying that I failed to pay.
I went online and filed a dispute stating the above. I got no response, so I filed again.
After my second dispute was filed, I received an email back from McKinley Payments that my dispute has been denied and that there is no further recourse, that denied disputes can't be disputed. I have reached out to them again and have not heard back.
I do not intend to pay their exorbitant charges. This is a racket and someone needs to bring a lawsuit against them. Honestly, it is clear in the video of me leaving the garage that the gate was up. I imagine everyone that left the garage that day is getting the same letters that I'm getting and McKinley is making a fortune stealing from people who thought they were parking for free that day.Business Response

I was billed for a parking violation over 5 months after the alleged offense of parking in a private lot. When I tried to contact customer service via their website I received a response that accused me of parking in a private lot and they refused to investigate or provide me with exact details when I said there must be a mistake. The charge was for $80.25 and an additional $30 administrative fee. I have a time stamped photo of a restaurant I was at during the time of the "offense" and they have public parking which is where we were parked.Business Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have already given them my case number and they state the complaint is closed. This would be true but only because I was in a rental car when the "incident" occurred and so the rental company just paid the fee without question and has since passed the bill back on to me. When I asked where the location of the "incident" occurred they did not give me a location and stated that I parked in a private lot.

There was not a proposed resolution or answer to the question of the exact location that the alleged offense occurred. I stand by the fact that I was parked in a public lot at the time they claim the "offense" took place.

On July 14, 2022 I parked at 211 Walter Seaholm Drive, Austin, TX to shop at ****** *****. I had my parking validated but when I went to leave, the McKinley payments app did not recognize my car. I had just purchased my new car that day and had a paper license plate so I could not update my vehicle on the app. I spoke to the parking attendant and he told me not to worry and just leave. I just received a parking ticket in the mail for $76.25! I emailed my dispute since they do not allow you to speak to a person and the denied my dispute! Do not park in any of their lots!!! I tried to call (***) ***-**** and the recording says they only handle disputes via email. There is no human to get this clarified!! I paid the fine to not incur any further penalties!Business Response

I received a payment form from McKinley Payments with an address listed as 123 7th Ave. N Nashville Tn. 37203. It was titled as FINAL NOTICE requesting payment within 30 days of receipt. The violation was listed as March 17, 2022 but I didn't get the notice until August of 2022 and its the ONLY NOTICE I've received.
The equipment to make a payment was NOT WORKING possibly bc it was Saint Patty Day weekend. Regardless of the reason why the payment equipment wasn't working the car was on the parking lot for a total of 25 minutes according to the notice. Part of that time was spent trying to pay the fee and the rest using the restroom and for that they want $81.25.Business Response

On 7/18, I entered a parking garage managed by Premier Parking at ***** ******** Hospital located at 7400 Fannin Street, Houston, TX XXXXX. I had previously signed up for a Premier Parking - Metropolis account using a debit card, which would track facility entry and exit, and bill accordingly. I had recently changed debit cards due to it being expired, and at no point was I prompted by Premier Parking to update my payment information, so I assumed the account was set up with another card. It wasn't until I received a violation notice from McKinley Payments, who is Premier Parking's payment processor for the amount of $79.25, which includes the original $9 parking fee. Premier Payments will not handle any notices made by McKinley Payments, and a violation dispute made on 8/6/22 remains unanswered. I was never notified or given the opportunity to update my payment information or pay using an alternative method. I've paid the violation in fear of it being referred to a collection agency.Business Response

My husband and I visited Nashville for the first time on 4/21/22 for my 67th birthday. First we tried to park in a garage with automated pay (QR) code. Could not complete payment, so we looked for someone to assist us. No luck. We left the garage and were in there for 7 minutes. Went down to a lot (314 3rd Ave. South) and succeeded in the QR code going through and were issued a receipt. Parked car for about 3 hours. We returned to the same lot on 4/22. Tried the same automated procedure (QR code) that day, but it evidently did not go through.
We received a bill for 3 parking violations totalling $243.54 at the end of ***. My husband responded with an email, explaining the situation. We also sent a photo of our credit card payment of the day we successfully completed the parking payment.
We received an email stating we'd be getting "a human response at the earliest possibility". Also, this email stated the issue "requires no further action on our part, including submitting a payment until an agent has contacted us".
At the end of July we received 2 bills for $81.18 each. We feel the first attempt to park in the garage for 7 min. should not be charged to us. The final visit to the lot on 4/22/22 where our transaction didn't go through was an honest mistake. But we will pay for that day ($81.18). As seniors, technology often poses problems. We question the integrity of this company, especially considering we were originally charged with 3 uses of non-payment. We also think 7 min. on our first parking attempt should be waived.Business Response

On June 10, I went to Mercy Hospital in Miami, FL to see my grandfather who was in the ER. The hospital uses Metropolis Parking where you pay by phone. I accessed the website and in my haste and because I was obviously worried about my grandfather, I entered my license plate information incorrectly.
I received a violation from McKinley Payments sometime in July. The violation is not dated. It has no return address. It states payment must be made by July 31st in the amount of $75.25 unless disputed within 30 days of receipt of the violation. Again, the violation is not dated.
I opened it July 22 and immediately contacted support via their website to explain the error and provided screenshots of my bank statement proving I paid $5.99 for parking. I received a generic response generated from ******** stating "we have received your email and will get back to you with a (human) response at the earliest convenience"
I have reached out two more times for a total of three attempts at communication. Not a single email has been answered by a customer service representative. We are going on three weeks now. Their violation is quick to state McKinley Payments can add fees and send me to collections. I find it hard to believe that the company has a turnaround time of 3+ weeks for contacting a person. I understand it may take a while for a person to investigate but I have only received generic, canned responses from McKinley Payments *******. I would like this matter settled without the threat of being sent to collections when I am making concerted efforts in good faith to remedy the situation. Thank you for your time!Business Response

Consumer Response /* (2010, 11, 2022/08/22) */
QUESTIONS:
1. Have you heard from the company? Yes, they finally responded August 19 (4 weeks after I initially contacted them)
2. If yes, are you satisfied with their efforts to resolve your concerns? No, I am not.
If not, please provide a detailed explanation.
Although they dismissed the fare and fine it took 4 weeks and a complaint with BBB to receive a response. I suspect the only reason I finally received a response is because they received the complaint from BBB. It all seems like a scam. They make it difficult to contact them so consumers will just buckle and pay to avoid being sent to collections. It's absurd. Their solution was to suggest I register my vehicle and card on their site to avoid future confusion. Given their lack of tech support and seriously delayed response times I don't see how doing so would be beneficial.
