On June 10, I went to Mercy Hospital in Miami, FL to see my grandfather who was in the ER. The hospital uses Metropolis Parking where you pay by phone. I accessed the website and in my haste and because I was obviously worried about my grandfather, I entered my license plate information incorrectly.

I received a violation from McKinley Payments sometime in July. The violation is not dated. It has no return address. It states payment must be made by July 31st in the amount of $75.25 unless disputed within 30 days of receipt of the violation. Again, the violation is not dated.

I opened it July 22 and immediately contacted support via their website to explain the error and provided screenshots of my bank statement proving I paid $5.99 for parking. I received a generic response generated from ******** stating "we have received your email and will get back to you with a (human) response at the earliest convenience"

I have reached out two more times for a total of three attempts at communication. Not a single email has been answered by a customer service representative. We are going on three weeks now. Their violation is quick to state McKinley Payments can add fees and send me to collections. I find it hard to believe that the company has a turnaround time of 3+ weeks for contacting a person. I understand it may take a while for a person to investigate but I have only received generic, canned responses from McKinley Payments *******. I would like this matter settled without the threat of being sent to collections when I am making concerted efforts in good faith to remedy the situation. Thank you for your time!

      QUESTIONS:
      1. Have you heard from the company? Yes, they finally responded August 19 (4 weeks after I initially contacted them)

      2. If yes, are you satisfied with their efforts to resolve your concerns? No, I am not.

If not, please provide a detailed explanation.

Although they dismissed the fare and fine it took 4 weeks and a complaint with BBB to receive a response. I suspect the only reason I finally received a response is because they received the complaint from BBB. It all seems like a scam. They make it difficult to contact them so consumers will just buckle and pay to avoid being sent to collections. It's absurd. Their solution was to suggest I register my vehicle and card on their site to avoid future confusion. Given their lack of tech support and seriously delayed response times I don't see how doing so would be beneficial.

When we exited the parking lot we put in our debit card the guard arm went up so we assumed it took payment. Then we get a bill for 77.25. There were no guards no personnel to assist. It falsely took payment.

I received a Notice of Parking Violation from McKinley Payments at 144 2nd Ave North, 3rd Floor, Nashville, TN at the beginning of August 2022. The violation number is XXX-XXX-XXX. They claim that a vehicle registered to me, with my license plate number was parked in their garage at 1033 Demonbreun St in Nashville in the morning and early afternoon of July 13, 2022 and exited without paying. The notice included two images of the vehicle, and conveniently, the license plate number is not able to be read in either image. I have never been to Nashville in my life. The vehicle in the images they provided on the notice is not my car (it's not even close) and could not have had my license plate on it. I own only one vehicle, which can be verified by the Michigan DMV, and which was in my possession, with my license plate properly attached to it, on said date and time and it was parked in my employer's parking lot in Michigan as I was working that day. I can prove I was at work by my time card. Also, my employer has round-the-clock video surveillance of the parking lot and I can get video proof that my car was parked in my employer's parking lot on that date and time if I have to, but I shouldn't have to since this is McKinley's error. I don't want to provide the video yet because I suspect they'll just photoshop it into the image and claim they sent me the wrong images the first time. I filed a dispute on their website on Aug. 3, 2022. The automated email that I got immediately after I clicked the Submit button on the dispute said I would be contacted by a human regarding my dispute but It has been a week now and no one has contacted me. Based on the other complaints I see here, I'm not the first person they've done this to. This is not my vehicle and I do not want my credit rating damaged for something that isn't mine and that I didn't do.

Today I received an email from McKinley Payments. They said they would waive the fee and the fine "this time," (but of course won't admit that they made an error or that they're scamming me). You can close this complaint.

I received a parking violation from McKinley Payments. Attached is the full correspondence from my dispute. They provided no explanation of why my dispute was dismissed. I am requesting the BBB help in resolving my dispute using the details that I provided to McKinley Payments. Quality businesses provide common customer courtesy for resolution of disputes. McKinley Payments ignored my dispute and sent me a generic response despite my valid reasons (safety, duration, and legal requirements of parking lots).

I used one of the parking lots for 30 minutes. They claim to have an automatic checkout feature that calculates the charge based on when you drive out of the facility. I was never checked out and because of that was charged $42 to park. They claim the max 24 hour parking fee is $40. I should have had a very minimal bill and tried reaching out with no help.

On July 20, 2022 I took a wrong turn downtown and got lost. I pulled into an empty lot at 9:26 am and left at 9:34 am. I did not exit my car. I did not park my car. I didn't even turn off the engine in the car. I spent my time looking at ******** to figure out where I was and how to get where I was going. On August 2 I received a Notice of Parking Violation from McKinley Payments. The fee is $75.25.

I was given a validation from Ranch 616 for parking here and I've reached out to Mckinley payments several times with zero response! No one there onsite, no one via phone or email. You cannot get ahold of this business and all they do is send out $80+ invoices for parking penalties that they won't back up or answer a phone or email on!!

On May 14, I entered my church parking garage for a private event. The barricade was open. There was no indication that payment was required. In fact, the message on the terminal stated that no payment was necessary. Later I received a bill in the mail for $80.25 from McKinley Payments, which appears to be the payment processor for ******* Parking.

I filed an online dispute with McKinley Payments, describing the circumstances above. My dispute was denied without explanation. Rather than drag this on, and risk affecting my credit, I paid the bill. But this business was predatory, and had I not been in a position to pay, they could make my life miserable. They should not be allowed to prey on people like this.

In June of 2022 we visited Nashville on a Sunday and briefly parked in a lot owned by ******* Parking, AKA McKinley Payments. We attempted to pay whatever charge was needed but the unmanned system was inadequate and confusing and we were unable to complete the transaction. Had there been a person at the parking facility we would have been happy to pay whatever charge. We subsequently received a violation notice in the mail asking for the original charge of $21.90 and demanding an additional $70.25 in violation fines. We filed a dispute with the company and offered to pay the original charge but our dispute was summarily dismissed out of hand. It appears ******* parking and McKinley Payments are involved in predatory business practices by inducing violations in an attempt to collect unreasonable violation fines. Our dispute was denied with no possible appeal. I wrote a letter to the company and enclosed a check for the original parking charge in an attempt to close the matter. I am awaiting a response. I would like to have the BBB warn businesses whose customers rely on ******* parking to accommodate customers, to warn their customers of the extreme fines and predatory practices and encourage their customers to park elsewhere.

We are getting mixed responses from Mckinly Payments. One response seems to accept our dispute but at the same time we continue to receive demanding notices requiring us to pay fees that are 350% more than the original charge for parking. We attempted to pay the original charge but , along with several other customers , were unable to complete the payment process on site. There was no parking attendant on site to assist. We feel the process is made intent is only difficult in order to follow up with predatory fees.
