Received a Parking Notice from SP Plus Enforcements dated 4/22/2024. The Notice has a picture of a vehicle that is NOT owned by me - it appears to be a AUDI. I own a truck. I was NOT in ******* from 3/11/2024 through 3/13/2024. For that matter I have not been in ******* for over a year. I have now received a notice from Linebarger, Goggan, **************** LLP debt collectors. I want this Parking Notice removed from both their systems. I do not have a 2024 license plate displaying CHI BEAR. I suggest that in the future that they get a VIN number and issue tickets that way as their is no connection between myself and this pictured Vehicle. I want confirmation from both businesses that this has been removed from my name and address.Business Response

I have tried to resolve / dispute a $48.99 bill that SP ********* (the parking lot across from The *************. Their kiosk didn't work....Their website said there was a place to dispute, but there wasn't, I tried writing- no response except from their Law firm who said we cannot pay the amount we should have paid if their kiosk was working- under $25 for a 1.5 hour park. This is a terrible way to treat a customer and I want others to know. I have talked to many who have experienced the same problems!Business Response

I received a parking ticket from this company. There are two photos of my vehicle, one of which is dated from 2022. The time entered into the lot also shows as a time I was at the airport picking up my mother. I tried to appeal online as the letter offered, and for some reason it said dispute not allowed. What a scam of a company, an invalid ticket that I have zero recourse to take care of other than letting it go to collections. Upon reviewing the evidence provided, we found that one of the cameras indeed captured an incorrect date in 2022, while the other camera captured the correct date of April 20, 2024, at 7:44 PM. As a one-time courtesy, we have voided the citation associated with this incident.
Moving forward, please note that our parking lot operates on a paid basis. You can conveniently pay via text, scanning the ** code or using the pay-on-foot machine located at the lot's entry.

I received a parking ticket from SP Plus on 4/19/24 in the park central parking garage in *******. I pay a monthly/yearly parking fee to park in this building. I badged myself in, parked in a 2 hour parking zone, was out for an hour and then my car was moved to give something to my friend who lives in the attached apartment complex and then my car was moved back to the same spot for another 2 hours when I moved it but it already had a ticket on it. My car did not leave the building complex until later in the day. I received a parking violation with pictures attached and one of the attached pictures was from an entirely different day (4/15/24). They stated in their reasoning that "Our records indicate that you were parked at the lot in excess of the allowed time, and no payment was made for parking." The ending in particular is in fact false and just shows that they didn't actually review my case properly because I pay a large amount to be able to park in this structure and don't need to waste my time on unwarranted tickets. I tried to correspond with them again but they do not allow any responses after the initial dispute which they didn't do properly enough. This violation is #***************. I don't want to have to deal with this $25 ticket when I didn't violate anything, and they need to have more accurate reporting systems. I will put off paying it for the time being, and will update this if I end up needing to pay the ticket before a resolution of the issue is agreed upon.Business Response

On 5/4/24 I received a notice in the mail from SP+ in reference to a parking violation that happened on 3/18/24 in a private parking lot in ********, ****. I do not dispute That I used the lot or that I owe a fee. There was no ticket issued. There was no lot attendant on hand or in the booth nor was there one when I left 2-3 hrs. I am more than willing to pay the ($10.99) fee. I will not pay ($75.99) extortion over the enternet. I don't have a home computer or would I ever put any banking information on it. Signage in the parking lot is prominently displayed informing that transient parkers are required to pay by scanning a QR code. Those signs are on display at multiple locations in the parking lot. The complainant admits they saw the signage and still neglected to pay. The violation amount they received is a standard amount for violations at this location.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I did not see the signage or anything in reference to scanning a code. To be honest, I don't know what that means? Scan with what? I have already heard from SP+ (***************) I have sent the full parking fee ($10.99) via U.S.mail. Not paying it would have been shameful. However paying the amount on the notice is out of the question ($75.99). It's obvious that I parked right in the middle of a scam. The act of not being stopped apon entering and given a ticket (like at the ****************) then paying as you leave seems to be quite profitable for SP+. Why give a ticket when they can hope to multiply the fee by x 7. $75.99 for 3.5 hrs. of parking. This was the first time that I was ever in this area of ******** as well as using a parking area of this type. These types of parking lots are unheard of where I live, thank goodness! ****************** can rest assure that I will never use their lot AGAIN! or any lot where I see SP+'s envolvement. *************** remarks in reference to sending this matter to a collection agency is meaningless.

I have ensured that company received it's parking fee amount in full, I sent it days ago. If company is not satisfied with that then they should do more to prevent issues like this at their parking areas. I for one do not think this was about a parking fee but more about extortion. Throughout the past 6 months my wife has been working at the local farmers market about 5 min from me. There is parking directly in front of the food court she works at and this is where I would often wait to pick her up. The company SP+ owns this lot and I was aware after ************************* there lot. This usually was no problem because I often would be there 15 min waiting sometimes less sometimes more. What I was not aware of is they do not notify you at all you've been ticketed and there's no human ticketing only a camera that reads when you enter and when you leave. Which to me is fraudulent as it doesn't represent if a car was actually utilizing the space or even leaving there car unattended. The permanent Address linked to my license plate is my parent because I live in apartments and move often. So I wasn't made aware of this until last week when I was able to pick up some old mail. This mail would reflect $170 in collections and $220 in fines from SP+. In trying to reach out and explain the situation I was met with unprofessional skepticism from ************************************* at ********** **************************** And trying to reach out to SP+ directly there's only a robot for paying your fine (which is a common theme) and no actual PERSON. Every step of trying to resolve this has made me feel like I'm being scammed thorough fraudulent tactics even the appeal process as I've heard nothing back and they don't give enough characters to explain a situation. What I would appreciate is paying the initial ticket I received the first time and waiving the subsequent ones as they do not depict the usage of there spaces only a lot you HAVE to drive though to access the food courts.Business Response

From what I can see, he's parking for ***** minutes (in most cases) while he's waiting for whomever. On 03/02, he actually stayed for just under 2 hours. We would be willing to reduce the fee to the parking fees due as a courtesy:
03/12 - $3

03/02 - $10
02/22 - $3
10/17 - $3
This lot is clearly posted as paid parking, and that only 15 minutes are free. If he needs to wait more than 15 minutes, then he will need to do so in the parking structure on the other side of the building, where he can park for 2 hours free of charge.*********************

On 4/9/2024 at 6:41 PM I parked at *************, ********************************************************************, at a lot run by SP+ Parking. I discovered on my way out that the lot only accepts mag stripe cards, all I had was cash and tap to pay on my phone, so I pushed the button, gave the person my cell and they sent me a link to pay that way. Only the link is demanding $30, not $8 which the parking exit machine was asking for. The $22 overcharge was not telegraphed by the person I spoke to. I have called the number on the ticket, ************ which always goes to voicemail. Extensive googling shows no other means to reach anyone to debate the $22 overcharge. We were charged a parking violation for supposedly leaving our truck in a parking garage for a week. The send pictures of us entering March 10th and leaving March 17th, 2023. They just forgot to look for the pictures of us leaving and arriving those same days. Our daughter has soccer practice every Friday which is why we come and go weekly at the same time. We disputed the charge and never heard back. Then we started receiving collection letters. They have no proof that we were parked overnight or for the week. I have my toll statement showing that we were driving the vehicle during that time. I have tried to call the company but cannot get a hold of anyone and I tried to dispute again by the system says a cant because it was already disputed.Business Response

I have been parking in a lot in *****. I was getting these bizarre "tickets" stuffed in the door handle that consisted of what looked like a found City of ***** parking ticket and a scrawled out note in broken english. I thought i was being trolled as i pay for City parking and the phone number was dead or just said voicemail full. I went to the website and that was a dead end. No additional info, just some ancient payment form from *************************************************************** the door and the person just said "hello". I asked if this was the city of ***** parking and he said yes. I asked again if it was the city of ***** police department parking enforcement and he said yes again. This incident transpired on January 6, 2024. I wasn't notified until March 13th or the 14th of this notice. Just in this time frame alone would proclude me from challenging the fine within their 21 days as per their policy. This is clearly a rip-off and they way they charged me. The incident took place on Jan ********* never received any notice of an outstanding ticket except for the astronomical fine of $63.19. Unfortunately, I have discovered that nurmerous others are going through the same. The gate's arm to enter the parking lot automatically raises when you approach their machine. This being extremely deceptive leading one to believe that the entrance is free, then everyone starts receiving tickets that are "way" above the initial cost of utilizing the garage.Business Response

Good afternoon,
The parking structure is on a license plate recognition system. Signage is posted at the entrance and throughout the garage. You must scan the ** code posted throughout the lot to start the parking session. Once you exit the session is ended and you are charged on the cc you added upon entering. Gates are only for security reasons, no ticket is required or issued. If these steps were not completed a citation is issued. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. They stated in their last response that a citation was issued? I never received a citation, only a bill for a larger amount than a citation. This whole charade is a scam. Besides, if there were no issues, they would not have to work out any kinks, therefore admitting a flaw in their system.
