  I hate that I have to give them even 1 star! We have lived in our house for 2 years at this point and one of our sliding glass doors RANDOMLY cracked over the weekend resulting in the entire door spider webbing. We have double paned doors so it was the inside of the door. Now, this is one of the sliders that has never been used, nor did anything hit the door as it was close to 3am when we heard something in the living room. I called DR ********************** about this to get ANY kind of info on warranties or to have someone come take a look at it, but all they told me was that they only offer a 1 year warranty and that there's nothing they can do. I, then, called Builders First Choice and they were absolutely no help to us at all either. The manager, ***, had said that they are "just the installers" and that we would have to reach out to the manufacturer regarding the crack, but most likely they won't do anything. He, at least, provided me a website to submit a complaint, but unfortunately, we will be out close to $1500 to replace a door that was not our fault. DO NOT buy a DR ********************** home!!!! They don't help you AT ALL when needed or provide ANY information to you when there's an isssue.

  Very disappointed in my DR ********************** purchase. Been in the home 5 months and the ** went out 3x, Pipes in the kitchen were messed up, And the bathtub installed just *****. It has crevices that run along the bathtub and shoots water outside of the tub onto the wall. The sheetrock is damaged and warranty won't fix it because the tub is installed correctly. I can't express how disappointed I am with DR ***********************

  This is my first purchase and the worse experience ever. Broke ground around July 2021 was told my home would be be ready in September, luckily I was deployed, I asked can I push my closing to the right to December- Jan 2022 time frame to allow my return, but also allow the vendors or whomever they hired to take their time and not rush on my home, needless to say, that occurred anyway. I wasnt able to see my home for myself to complete my closing my realtor did the walk through for me and of course he could only see surface things. Fast forward to March I began asking for the local office to level my back yard and clean up all the debris( bricks, pipes, bottles, etc) that was left behind and still buried in the yard, not to mention. The sod was placed horribly, it rained causing the sod to sink in my front yard, still not replaced. Moving on to the inside of the house, my door handle fell off, nothing was ? I had to fix that myself, brand new house not to mention. The drive is missing drawers and the microwave is missing the gray piece that goes under the glass inside, I was told nothing they can do call whirlpool. The paint and drywall is atrocious, some of the walls werent ever painted, the baseboards arent even, when asked oh you can wait until your 11 months when the home start to settle what the h*** DR. ****** is this how we take care of your customers, I can go on and on about this builder. This company spend more time fixing the c*** after its built than doing it right yhe first time just to start building another property. I personally wouldnt recommend this builder to anyone. Very disappointing.

  Our home of 5 years had a pipe come loose under a toilet. The pipe was not to code and flooded the 2nd floor all the way to the basement.They also use substandard things that you cannot see until they break. Plastic ejector pumps in lieu of cast iron that broke and flooded our basement within the 1st year. Just to name one.Don't do it.

  Went under contract in Dec 2021 and closed on our home in Sept 2022. The worse experience, they do not care about your concerns, you do not get to meet the builder. Our home was on pause for several months. 2 months before closing they began the bricking, electrical, plumbing, etc. It was a week before closing and the gentleman that did our first walk through wanted to cancel because he was concerned of how far behind they were. I requested a final walk through and no DR ********************** representative was present. The day before closing had no landscaping, irrigation. We are 3 weeks in our home and have expressed concerns with our landscaping and irrigation and were told to submit under our warranty but it would be denied because landscaping is not covered and we should have expressed concerns before closing. I was not given the opportunity to express concerns on landscaping because the landscaping was not installed at the time of walk through or final walkthrough. D.R ********************** is building these homes very poorly, wires and bars exposed from the ground and home. ******** is done horribly with a promise to fix and nothing gets done. Floors are scratched and paint drippings throughout the home. They are just taking your money and not caring about the quality of work. If I could do it all over I would not have chosen D.R ********************** as my builder.

  The homes are ok for the money but Horton will NOT stand by their work. As soon as you sign papers they turn their backs on you. Our ********* of ********** at College Point in ********** ** has faulty houses, the subs do work not to code, trim is horrible. Neighborhood has unfinished roads. Horton could care less.

  All D.R. Horton homes are built to local building codes and are inspected by each jurisdiction's inspectors before the home can close escrow. Homeowners are encouraged to submit requests online for all warrantable repairs they may have.

  They are NOT to code. That is the problem. Speak to all the electricians who have been in this neighborhood. Inspectors dont look at everything and the superintendent is so young and inexperienced, he was overwhelmed. And lets talk about the oven that caught fire! Just admit mistakes, take care of them and move on. Its really not that hard to treat people right.

  We needed a single floor ranch floor plan even though not perfect it suited our needs being a full 3 bed 3 bath home as our mother ***** was moving in with us Over all quality is ok but not what we are accustomed to. that said the sub contractors and the warranty ******* are on par with ***** used car guys and attorneys. Sod was laid on top of concrete chunks and back yard was so hard and full of rocks and gravel that the seeded yard would only grow weeds. The 15 day is a **** as they will take six months or more then prolong the issue till u give up.They gaslight you as if it's your fault of the sub par work. Very frustrating!If they break their written 15 day agreement take or to a attorneys attention or it will NOT get done. There are a few good folks in the organization but 90% are crooks and thieves hiding under the contract that they continually break and then blame you 9 months in and feeling taken advantage of by their ******************* He narcissistic and arrogant.Live and learn but steer away from this turn and burn builder Feel sorry for the folks who have to lie for them

  We were under contract to move into a new home with them and we thank God we got a home inspection. Many issues identified by the inspector put us on alert to look had at our pre closing walkthrough. The roof had loose shingles and trusses, siding so loose it would certainly blow off in a storm, plumbing sticking out of the foundation, crooked windows, door frames, kitchen island, squeaky windows that looked bowed, door going into the garage would not open or close properly, dead landscaping, the list goes on. So we are out our $500 ******* money plus extra time and money to pay for our stuff in storage, but glad we decided to not close on this house. We could not believe the terrible construction or the Superintendents indifference, he stood there at our walkthrough and basically told us they were not going to fix many of our concerns?! We are lucky we have somewhere to live while waiting to find a different home. Think long and hard before buying from DR *********************** homes are trash and they dont care.

  These are the problems we are having with the Newley built house July 2022 D.R ********************** Builders. 1 Brand new washing machine does not work still waiting on parts as of October 19,2022 2. Cable has not been placed underground had camera installed some yanked the cable down to block out my security camera D.R. Horton has not responded to the repair. 3. Squeaky floors 4. garage door would not operate 5. Mirrors in the bathroom looked used and worn out. 6. Flashing is held together by on nail and the caulking around the windows are missing in some spots. 7. the siding is not flush to the house which would allow an infestation of pest. 8. the heat was not hooked up found out when we tried to cut the heat on this month. 9. the paint job is horrific requested for the company to repaint. the security bar was to short at the sliding glass doors. STILL REQUIRE ATTENTION, # 1,2,6,7,9. Impossible to reach Corp. !! BUYER BEWARE crappy and shoddy work . Dont waste your money and the WARRENTY IS A JOKE.

  Please think twice about buying a DR ********************** home. So many misguided truths and no follow up. Oh they say they will follow up but in reality its a fight all the way. I moved into my home in June of 2019. In just three years I had to replace my roof which is now noted was not under code. There was even plywood not nailed down once the old shingles were removed. Shingles were the lowest grade possible and I kept losing shingles after just a bad storm. My home would never have made it through a hurricane. Insurance companies should begin to question this negligence. Thats only the beginning of all the issues but the roof is the most recent. Love the layout of my home but there are many ways it was built the cheapest way possible.
