In ~2019 I received a speeding ticket in **********, **. I paid the citation on time. For years since then I have received regular letters in the mail warning me that I have a warrant out for my arrest and that I must pay this firm $113.73 in order to resolve the issue. I have contacted ********** repeatedly and they have ensured me that I have no outstanding balance and no warrant, and that they have tried to get Linebarger to cease contacting me. I have tried addressing this with Linebarger myself and was told, rather bluntly, that they did not believe me that the issue was resolved.

This is a scam. I received a letter in August 2022 stating that I owed a ticket for a "TR-Red light camera written by local enforcement", ************************ the amount of $356.25. *************:

On behalf of Linebarger Goggan Blair &Sampson, LLP (Firm), I am responding to the complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in regard to the Firms collection efforts on behalf of the Clerk of Court for Orange County, ** (Clerk) for Case No. 2021-TR-125042-A-O (the Traffic Case). Upon receipt of this complaint, we placed the Traffic Case in a stop work status for review.

The Firm represents the Clerk in the collection of delinquent court fees and fines. The Clerk forwarded the Traffic Case to our Firm as payment obligations related to this case have become delinquent.

The Traffic Case stems from a ******* Uniform Traffic Citation, identified as Citation No. AF5ANTE, issued in your name in accordance with ******* Statute Section ******** based on your alleged failure to stop at a red light in violation of ******* Statute Section *******. Pursuant to ******* Statute Section ********(1)(c), a traffic citation for failing to stop at a red light is issued by mailing the traffic citation to the address of the registered owner of the motor vehicle. I have enclosed a copy of this citation for your review. According to court records, the citation appears valid as there is no decision of the Orange County Court rendering the citation invalid. We have also confirmed with the Clerk that the obligation is still outstanding. I would encourage you to view the video footage and photos of the incident available online. The website is www.*************.com, and the login information in the form of the notice number and pin number are located on the upper right hand side of the enclosed citation.

Unfortunately, the Firm does not have the authority to modify the outstanding obligation related to the Traffic Case or to transfer the liability for the citation.  However, if you would like to dispute the citation and/or request a transfer of the liability for the citation, you will need to file an affidavit as described in ******* Statute Section ******** and request a hearing with the Orange County Court. As a courtesy, the Firm has placed this account in a stop work status in the Firms system for a period of 90 days to provide you with an opportunity to dispute the citation or to attempt to reassign liability.  By placing your account in a stop work status, the Firm will cease collection efforts during this time. However, please note that all enforcement mechanisms will remain in place during this time unless the Orange County Court alters the legal status of the citation.

I hope this is enough to satisfy your inquiry.  Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at ************.

      Best Regards,

I received a letter in the mail from this company stating that I have delinquent court fines balance $33.05 on 09/01/2022.They provide me an account#: ********, and ******** municipal court case # I00060925 in the letter. No further details is provided regarding to this court fines, such as when, where and how this fines is relate to me. When I call them on 09/02/2022, they tell me it was a parking ticket for car plate AJE9010 on 03/27/2019.That is funny, I never have a car with this car plate and I never went to ******** on 03/27/2019. All the cars and car plates information under my name can by verified by ******. So this is a potentially fraudulent letter and try to collect the fines not related to me. This letter is wasting my time.I need Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP stop to send this wrong notice, remove me from their system, and make an apology on sending wrong letter and wasting my time.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/16/2022

I am responding to the consumer complaint filed with your office by *************,regarding an account for unpaid parking violation fines owed to our client, ************************ (the Court), Case #I000*****.  Upon receipt of this complaint, we placed the Traffic Case in a stop-work status for review.

The Firm represents the Court in the collection of delinquent court fees and fines. The Clerk forwarded the Parking Violation case to our Firm as payment obligations related to this case became delinquent.

This Parking Violation case stems from a ticket #***** issued the name of ************* for parking more than 24 hours in one spot, Violation Code 10.28.015.  I have enclosed a copy of this citation for the complainants review.  According to court records, the citation is valid as there is no decision of the Municipal Court rendering the citation invalid. We have also confirmed with the Clerk that the obligation is still outstanding. The Court had reason to believe the vehicle which generated the ticket was registered to the complainant at the time the ticket was issued.

Unfortunately, the Firm does not have the authority to modify the decision of the Court as to liability or fine amount.  It appears that the complainant has filed a Declaration of Non-Responsibility with the Court.  The Firm will await instruction from the Court as to the further handling of this account.

I hope this is enough to satisfy the inquiry.

      Best Regards,

Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP

I am rejecting this response because:
The copy of the citation is not very clear, but I am able to find vehicle license No. *******, STATE **, expire 8/19, Make Volks or Volvs? Color light?
I never have this car and this car plate. Please don't tell me you had reason to believe the vehicle was under my name. We need evidence!
Please show me the evidence from **************** ********** of ********* that this vehicle which generated the ticket was registered under my name.

This company can't attach this kind of evidence because they don't have it.

Furthermore, the ticket was opened on 03/27/2019 13:30, the address in the ticket doesn't match it where they mailed me the letter. I had been in my current address since Dec 2016.
Fortunately I have my ****** timeline enabled, it clearly shows that I never went to ******** city on this date.

I have sent email to ************************ because this parking ticket is not related to me.
I was told my submitted file was sent to the judge for review on 09/09.

*************** to the consumers rejection of our Firms original response to the complaint filed with your office by *************, regarding an account for unpaid parking violation fines owed to our client, ************************ (the Court), Case #I00060925.

As stated in our original response, the Firm was awaiting instructions from the Court, after an opportunity to review the complainants claims.  The Firm received notification from the Court that they had dismissed the referenced ticket.  See court docket, attached. In turn, our Firm has closed the file on the complainant.

This is our final resolution of this matter.

These idiots call my business phone every week or two times a week with a robo call looking for someone. The number they call is the 2d line to my own law office which I've had for over 20 years, and is also the number I use for my health care advocacy biz. I am totally sick of their continuing to call looking for someone who is not here, has never been here and who I do not know who it is. I have warned them that the next step is that I will be contacting the *** and seeking a fine and/or damages.

I received a potentially fraudulent letter in the mail from this law firm. Apparently HUNDREDS of other people have as well, and they have complaints listed on YOUR (BBB) website. How does this firm still have an "A+" rating with the BBB? Ridiculous. Here's the email I just sent to them, via your site, which includes the details:"I received a "WARNING: YOUR LICENSE MAY BE SUSPENDED" letter in the mail from your firm, claiming that I owe $380.90 to Miami-Dade County from December of 2019. First of all, I was nowhere near ***** the entire month of December 2019. I keep immaculate records in my calendar. Second, I did a search for the citation number you gave me on the Miami-Dade website. Your citation number isn't even in the proper format. I also did a search for open citations based on my name; none could be found. Therefore, I immediately demand you provide me with proof of this supposed citation, including the make/model and license plate number of the vehicle, the exact date and time of the infraction, and any other supporting information you have available.
