I absolutely would never recommend using direct express to anyone. If you are able to set up direct deposit with another financial institution instead of waiting for the benefits/funds to be deposited into your card then do that. The agents dont pay attention to what theyre doing and are consistently making mistakes (minor and major) I have received 3 cards since sept 1 and none of them are linked to my benefits. And all I keep hearing is Im sorry that happened, what I can do is expedite a card) and Im constantly paying $13 bucks for an expedited card in which I still cant access my funds. The agents really need to be trained and pay attention because a lot of us depend on the deposits to come on time to pay rent and other bills waiting any additional days out us at risk to be homeless. They all have stank attitudes and hate their jobs. I am wanting someone from corporate to contact me cause this behavior is unacceptable.. even the supervisor ****** had an attitude *******U.S. Direct Express

OMG!!! Direct Express is beyond WRONG!!! They have inconvenienced me in the past with putting hold on my card when I was out just trying to "Live"... getting basic supplies for home and much needed meds for chronic conditions just because someone *young and nonchalant about LIFE sitting in a call center thought (or didn't think) let me c*** on their day.... NEWSFLASH ??! "I AM A SENIOR ON SSI, waiting patiently for my funds EVERY MONTH, I don't need to be worried that*YOU think me shopping all at once (I have to!) is fraud...and this time took the ****** Direct Express gave me the name of the 3rd party company that charged my card and then sent me thru H*** because I couldn't prove the transaction was cancelled, because the company is like DIRECT EXPRESS employees- a call center for a mobile app, filled with inconsiderate, stank attitude, I don't care about your problems, robotic sounding individuals! Yes I did, i went off on them, I said I was going to pray hard they walk in my shoes and feel my pain!...I NEED MY MONEY NOW, IN ***** NAME!!U.S. Direct Express

Had my card info stolen and they did honor a provisional credit but then took it back and now I lose my social security payments for 3 months because they said they seen no fraud committed. This card company is a rip off. I supplied them proof that my card was used not by me. Dont trust this service whatsoeverU.S. Direct Express

This is the worst financial institution to have your money deposited into! They treat you like a criminal or if its not your own money. My uncle had lost his card while moving. He called for a replacement card and was asked for his address on file. He couldnt remember it. So he was told to submit his military identification and ss card. He called to verify if it was received and was told thats not enough. I tried to explain thats what was told to him and that I help him out and knew the address and all the info they needed. Thats when I was instructed not to speak and he needed to talk, He tried, but he has a slur due to a previous stroke. So he began to get confused. Thats when the customer service rep (supervisor) said to have a nice day and hung the phone up!!!!!! These people have the WORST customer service Ive ever witnessed. For them to accept social security, railroad retirement , veterans pensions etc. They should know patience are very important to the folks theyre dealing with!U.S. Direct Express

I have had direct express for over 10 years and now recently Im having problems with them. I attempted to do a transfer from my direct express card to my bank account and the funds were returned to my direct express card. I had this same problem in the past so I contacted customer service and they told me I needed to verify that the bank account Im trying to transfer funds to is my account. I emailed the documents to verify that it is my bank account and I called them back on 8/23/22 and I was advised by two different customer service agents that the documents were approved that I had emailed and I could do a tranfer. I check my direct express account and the funds were returned today 8/25/22 back to my direct express card. I spoke with a supervisor named **** whom I have spoke with in the past and he asked if I was banking with **************** because they have had problems with them tranferring funds. I changed my bank from ***** Fargo because of what **** said about them in the past and **** told me the same thing this time about my new bank that he said about ***** fargo that my new bank kicked back the transfer thats why it didnt go thru. He said all the same info about my new bank that he previously said about ***** fargo. Now I know it probably wasnt even ***** fargos fault my transfer didnt go thru its direct expresses fault. I need help Im tired of them not letting me transfer my money to my bank account.U.S. Direct Express

I had fraud done on my Direct Express card a ATM withdrawal was made ***************************************************** my wallet the whole time. So I filed a fraud claim which was denied the processional credit was reversed. I never got any respond from them after I filed a police report and the questionnaire of fraud and had to give my social my address and date of birth to six reps today and still have no answer and ****** deducted from my account with no warning. This is not right. The reps talk to you like you have no common sense and have no compassion. I believe I will get no help out money back.U.S. Direct Express

My review was deleted. This awful company is leaving me penniless with no recourse and its killing my mental health. They deleted my review after emailing me and saying well review it. Theres ZERO oversight, they dont even have a legit customer service EMAIL option. The only people you can talk to are the impossible to understand, bored to death call center folks who are powerless to do much of anything and once they make a decision- you are stuck with it, with no recourse. I cant even dispute the charges because they are making me go to SSA office but they left me broke so I cant get there. I want to die, fix it! FIX IT YOU SCUM.U.S. Direct Express

they said I've pre-authorize over$500 in two months to companies that don't exist, that I can find anyways, so I can't contact the merchant to find out how they even got my card info considering I had never used it online before as I had just gotten a new one the month prior cause of the same issue! It is a pity that the **** Government requires social security recipients to have their much needed social security benefits that they worked and paid for deposited with Direct Express that will often deprive access to the funds. Often cards are canceled for no reason without any notice leaving many with no way to pay for food, electricity, and other necessities required to live. If the card holder survives an extremely long wait on the phone, he or she will be told the only solution is issuance of a new card that will take two weeks to receive. Often a merchant regularly paid by the SS recipient with the Direct Express Card, all of a sudden without notice, will not be honored depriving the card holder access to the typical goods or services. A call to Direct Express will result in a very long hold period after which the company cannot provide a reason for the inconvenience. Only if pressed Direct Express will finally state the merchant, for no stated reason, was black listed. Only if pressed Direct Express will advise that a temporary whitelist can be issued to allow payment to the merchant (who must not have been so bad after all) for a period of three to four days after which the blacklist will go back in place. Just when the needy card holder thinks he can make a purchase, he or she is told it will take two hours for the whitelist to go into effect. After waiting much more than two hours the card holder will call back and wait for a longer period on the phone until being told that the process will have to start again with no explanation of why the first promise failed. After waiting much longer than another two hours the card holder will discover his card can still not be used. The wait on the third call is even longer than the others. The cardholder will go through the same lengthy process and, again to no avil. I had to give a star to post but 0 minus stars for Direct Express.U.S. Direct Express
