It's been more than a month and there's been no update on quote or schedule. Very poor communication and no update even after following several times. It's been very frustrating. Definitely do not recommend Qmerit to anyone.

1 starQmerit and W3 electrical in ***************** are shady. Ive done research and spoken with people at ****** ******** and ******** regional representatives, I found I was ripped off by either Qmerit and/or W3. They got $1500 from ******** and then charged me $600 on top of that for two breakers and a 240 volt plug that is only 2 feet below my breaker box. This has been escalated at ******** to executives and Im pending a refund of my $600 from ******** for my troubles. Ive learned that ******** has discontinued the Qmerit relationship starting January 1st for similar experiences with ******** customers. Always get bids even when using someone like Qmerit. It is very disappointing to be treated like that, Qmerit either needs to clean up their contractors or stop allowing these practices when getting a huge boondoggle from a company like GM.Review fromRosalind C

Everything said in this forum is accurate about Qmerit. It is a scam.***************************************************************************** initiated a project to install a 240V outlet in my garage for a EV car charging. Since the car manufacturer suggested Qmerit, i initiated this with them first. Qmerit charged $150 upfront. I got two quotes within a span of two days. Neither of them asked for any questions or clarifications, neither of them clearly explained their quote with the set of assumptions they are making. And no surprise - the quotes were at least 40-50% higher than the highest quote i got from doing some market research. EV cars are almost everywhere and there are umpteen datapoints on the costs. It was quite unprofessional of Qmerit to brush it off saying if we have two quotes then you should trust thats the value !!!! In all this, Qmerit adds zero value.Qmerit

Hi, *****! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in requesting a 240V outlet installation for an EV charger in your garage. The Home Charging Assessment you completed to receive a quote is designed to calculate the needs of your home in supporting EV charging and utilizes purpose-built AI that integrates information from over ******* EV charger installations to accurately perform a load calculation, determine the physical and electrical capacity available in your electrical panel, and measure the distance from your electrical panel to the intended charging site to calculate the material quantities needed. This allows us to eliminate any additional follow-up unless we are unable to assess your needs based on the information provided, at which point your electrical contractor will reach out for more information. The $150 refundable deposit helps us proactively apply for permitting should you decide to proceed with your Qmerit-certified electrician and is entirely refunded if you decide not to move forward. After reviewing the two quotes that were provided to you, your first quote was for $1,603 for the installation and $210 for permits. This quote included an upgrade in your current electrical infrastructure to support future-proofing for an 80-amp charger to be added later on. The second quote was $1,399 for the installation and $450 for permits. This quote had a similar scope of work, with the exception of a maximum of a 48-amp charger and no future-proofing. We do have several programs available with a waived deposit, however, the $149 deposit secures your project with a Qmerit-certified installer and allows them to promptly begin the permitting process after completing your home charging assessment to help avoid installation delays. This deposit is fully refundable should you ultimately decide not to have your EV charging station installed by Qmerit and will be applied to your installation costs should you choose to proceed!
