I recently used their service (through the **** website) to install a 240 V NEMA ***** outlet for my EV. Estimate given promptly. Paid the downpayment. Qmerit contracted *********** (local branch in *****) to do the work. They were on time, clean and quick (about an hour of work).I received the final invoice which included a $250 permit fee (?). I called Qmerit because I wanted a copy of the permit and was told that I had to contact ***********. Which I did but did not get an answer. The guy I spoke to was not even sure that I needed a permit. He asked me to wait a couple of days so he could investigate. Waited with no response from no one. Called *********** again and was told to be patient.Today I called ******* again and I was then told that I did not need a permit so the $250 were taken off the final invoice.Without me calling several times multiple businesses I would have thrown $250 out the window.Other thing: the outlet is located right next to the breaker box so about 2 or 3 feet of wire; total price was $1000 for an hour of work. Best advice: shop around / there is cheaper and they won't try to throw in a fake permit fee.

********** was connected with a Qmerit Certified Installer through the Qmerit Contractor Network for an at-home EV Charging Station installation, which took place on March 22nd. Our records indicate that Qmerit received a call regarding this fee on March 28th, at which time the invoice was adjusted and the customer completed payment of the invoice immediately after the call. While many at-home EV Charging Stations do require a permit, this largely depends on local regulations and the safety needs of each individual installation. There is currently an enhancement in progress to the Qmerit platform that will prevent any member of the Qmerit Contractor Network from being able to close a project with a permit fee if the installer has determined and selected that no permit will be required for the project. This new enhancement should prevent any similar occurrences in the future.Review fromCarson Q

Company has a deal with Chevy where customers get $1500 towards an EV ststion install and then subcontractors mark up their prices far beyond what is reasonable. A two hour job somehow cost me close to $2,000 and it wasn't complex or require a large amount of materials.Qmerit

It looks like your installation was classified as non-standard due to a wiring run of over 50 feet from your panel to the detached garage where the ** charger was installed. Your quote was accepted the same day you received it on 10/25/2022, and the installation occurred the following day on 10/26/2022. After a re-evaluation of your quote and installation needs, we have confirmed that the quote provided accurately reflects the scope of work and a remaining balance of $891 out of pocket was paid after the Chevrolet Home Charging Installation credits were applied. Under this program, eligible customers are able to receive a Standard Installation of a Home Charging Outlet, or up to a $1,000.00 credit to be applied towards an Installation completed by a Qmerit Installer for customers who do not meet the Standard Installation Requirements. The Clinton Electric technician, *******, that arrived for my appointment (right on time!) was very professional. He listened closely as I explained the issues with my electric, examined the areas in question and then talked me through everything that needed to be done to set it right. The repairs were done and my electric was restored. I will use Clinton for any future issues and would definitely recommend their services.Qmerit
