1 starWe purchased our daughter her own ticket so we could sit her in the car seat to make sure she was comfortable while riding the plane. My husband boarded the plane first and installed the car seat rear facing due to our daughter's weight which is 20 lbs. Right before take-off I was told by a flight attendants we would need to turn her carseat around because it was a hazard to the woman in front of us who could not recline her seat. He said once the flight got in the air we would need to take her out of her seat and turn the seat forward facing. Once the flight was in the air I called over another flight attendant and explained that my daughter by *** is supposed to be rear-facing until 22lbs, she asked me where did it say this at and I showed her the side of the car seat that explicitly states that a child is supposed to be rear-facing until 22lbs. She said she would need to go to the front to check on this, she shortly came back and said all kids are supposed to be forward facing on planes and told us to take our daughter out of her seat and turn the seat around. About 10 mins before landing the same woman returned to us and stated that she went to look the rules up and we were correct that the child is supposed to be rear facing but due to the fact that the plane was now landing we could not turn her around anymore. Once the plane landed our fears were confirmed when the harsh landing made our daughter's neck fly violently forward, her neck flew so fast that her head almost hit her knees. Not 1 but 2 flight attendants incorrectly told us we would need to put our daughter's life in danger in order to fly the aircraft. This is unacceptable and all flight attendants should be educated on the FAA's rules around flying with a car seat and the reasons as to why it is important to properly install car seats in the correct direction this is a matter of life or death for a child that size and it should not be up for debate while in the air what is correct vs not correct.Review fromRyan K

1 starHorrible airline! They cancel flights and then rebook you on flights that have multiple delays. Which causes you to be delayed by several hours or even days. And the worse part is that this is mainly due to things in their control.Review fromKathy S

1 starI have ******* travel points with this company that I apparently can not use! A few months ago I tried to book a flight for one of my kids and found out my points were hacked. I called the company who assured me that I still had my points I just needed to send them a picture of my government issued ID. I had my passport out so I sent that. I thought everything was taken care of. I booked a flight for my daughter, her son, her friend and her 2 sons. Put in everything needed for an international flight all passport information. It took a long time! Get all the way through and it wont take my payment. After 2 calls and an hour of hold time I finally talk to a human that said that my account was frozen because of possible hacking activity. I said no that I had sent my passport and that fixed it. She said I needed to send a picture of a government issued ID. I said what the h*** do you think a passport is! There is a reason I fly any other airline than Southwest! I have since boooked the group with United!Review fromMai K

1 starI have filed this complaint with the airline about 2 years ago and have not received any sort of resolution. Due to the actions that took place, where Southwest Airlines failed to be reactive to a situation, I post this knowing they will continue to fail to be proactive about it. I contacted Southwest Airlines privately and requested that I be contacted through email for documentation purposes (you can see why as, yes, I did bring this up with an agent when it happened and I was ignored). I never received an email. Before, during, and after the flight, my family and I fell victim to the targeted actions of another passenger which your Southwest Airlines agent failed to acknowledge. They did not take my concerns about the persistent racially-charged harassment and physical assault from another passenger seriously which compromised my safety and the safety of my family.Your agent did not make our safety a priority during this flight. The inattentiveness and lack of kindness or care your agent showed us made this woman feel empowered to chant racial slurs in the middle of the airport and physical harassment in the hair. Because I was ignored and not taken seriously, what would have been just an unpleasant passenger turned into a 5-hour, traumatizing nightmare of a flight, where apparently racial discrimination and assault were welcomed.Your agent not only allowed bigotry and racism to feel welcomed, but she also enabled the racist harassment and assault. Your Southwest Airlines agent was not able to recognize and put an end to the unacceptable situation at hand when I had tried to speak upon it. Now my family has to process and cope with the traumatizing events that could have been avoided had your airline agent taken my concerns seriously and put my familys safety and comfort as a priority.Review fromtessica j

1 starThis airline is horrible. They cancel flights and leave in an airport to wait for a connecting flight. I had to wait i we 8 hours overnight bc weather cancelled our flight. No water, blankets, food, car or anything stranded at their mercy. The best is I paid extra for early check in and the flight they booked me on never got the same service and I was last to board. If youre going to cancel a flight at least check us in bc it was within 24 hours. Just another number, treated like animals and yet we pay top dollar to fly. Makes me not want to travel by air or use this airline EVER again!!Review fromShahbaz A

1 starSouth West should post that this airline is not for blacks, browns and dogs. On July 12, 2024, during Southwest Airlines flight 3414 from **************************** (DEN) to ***************** (DAL), I experienced discrimination based on color, race, and ethnicity while traveling with my family. Upon boarding, I placed my bag on an empty seat beside me, and Flight Attendant ****** M Khael ****** (E71653) accused me of blocking the seat instead of politely asking me to stow the bag, which I promptly did. Shortly after, OPS Agent ***** (******) accused me of blocking the seat despite no obstruction being present, and she was notably rude and refused to listen to my explanation. These interactions caused my 8-year-old daughter to be seated next to strangers, leading to her distress and tears. As the flight prepared for departure, I switched my phone to airplane mode, and **************** M Khael ****** falsely accused me of taking pictures or videos, insisting I leave the plane without any evidence of such activity; this incident appeared racially motivated based on my appearance, color, and race, and in protest of this discrimination, 12 people, including my family, left the flight. After being forced off the plane, CSS II ************************* (E91551) was informed of the discriminatory act but threatened to bar me from Southwest Airlines, although AMCS **** C (E136632) listened to our concerns, apologized, and issued boarding passes for the next flight. The actions of Flight Attendant ****** M Khael ******, OPS Agent *****, and CSS II ************************* were discriminatory and unprofessional, causing significant distress to my family and me, and while AMCS **** C addressed our concerns to some extent, the overall experience was deeply troubling and unacceptable. I request that Southwest Airlines take appropriate actions to address this incident and ensure such discrimination does not occur in the future.Review fromJosh G

1 star***** the supervisor needs to be released asap! She should be no part of this great company. I have never in my entire life been treated the way she treated me and my girlfriend on July 6th around 3pm. We had to change over 2lbs of luggage to our other luggage that they sent off. Age was mad because they already sent it off. So she had to go get it. Everything was perfectly fine, until she rolled the luggage around the other side. She said put it on the scale so we can see both bags I did so. I was priority so I had to scales available. The original guy said 51lbs was fine. So I got the one on that. And the other on 51lbs too. She then changed it and said 50lbs. And I said the guy said 51lbs. So at the point Im getting 2 diffent stories. She was so close to my face I could smell her breath, and I had her spit going into my face. My girlfriend told her to please go away 3 times. And she continued to raise her voice and spray us with her spit. My gf eventually said please f***ing go away. And my gf was cutting at this point because she wouldnt go away. She then walked around the other side ripped off our tags and said she cancelled our flight. We were assaulted by her spit, harassed as we asked her to go away several times. This Supervisor has some anger issues. As well as a terrible representation of southwest. By no means should someone be so close to a customer face we can smell her breathe and have there spit flying in our face. Ill never fly southwest again. Also canceling Southwest CC. Most terrible experience I ever had!!! Shame on southwestReview fromTracy F

1 starI just went to check for flights and right away, once I went to book the flight, Southwest changed the price of the flight. Saying that things change fast so I should book before the price changes again. Googled this and lots of people are complaining of Bait and Switch practices at Southwest. Sad that they are doing this.Review fromTheofil B

3 starsSouthwest is typically our favorite airline. We love how efficient check in and seating can be along with very competitive flight cost. Tonight though was disappointing. I checked my 91-year-old mother in and was not happy with the service. I typically fly with her so I can push her in the wheelchair, but the desk agent was very short and essentially said I cant take her because in a southwest wheelchair, theres liability so only a Southwest runner can take her. However, there were already four wheelchair customers who had been waiting for over 30 minutes for a runner! I ran into a supervisor , ****, who manages the runners and he was absolutely helpful and friendly and patient but he explained that they are short-staffed. There is absolutely no reason why Southwest or any airlines should be short-staffed with runners when you know in advance how many people are going to need wheelchairs. I spoke to another desk agent who was so much more friendlier and she said she wouldve been happy to give me a gate pass so I could take my mom. What the heck? Why the inconsistency? This should have been offered to me from the get-go. I didnt have to do it in the end because **** was able to scramble runners and get Mom on her way. Staff up Southwest. Or let us know in advance your service will not be up to par!
