Santander consumer USA uses a third party service for lien release. They charge $17 for the release of the lien and $31.95 MINIMUM for shipping. They have no alternate way according to service reps of providing the documentation. They basically hold your vehicle hostage until you pay these ridiculous fees, which I am about to do since I am trying to sell the vehicle 4 years after I paid it off...

I got sucked into getting a loan with this company through ***** ******** I was young and they took the chance to get me. Ive been paying on this loan for 6+ years and havent payed $10,000 off my loan . I hen i got into a bad financial position they told me there was nothing they could do also i was told that they couldnt refinance my loan because they dont do that. Most of the money from your monthly payment goes to interest then they look at you like you are in the wrong when the balance isnt down. They sent out a letter stating i owed ******* days after i paid. The calls pop up as identified as spam from trucaller. Something doesnt sit right with me with this company and the way they do business.

If I could give less than one star, I would. We went through a rough patch in 2018 and our car was repossessed. We were able to reclaim it but havent ever received the title. I didnt realize we didnt have the title until much later. I have been trying to get this resolved for well over a year and need to get new plates and tags. I cant without the title and am going to have to pay heavy penalties because they cant get their act together. As I stated, this has been going on for more than a year, and today theyre telling me I have to start over at square one. It really makes me angry that if I miss a payment, they can take my car, but they can jerk me around for a year- plus, and I have no recourse. This is insane!

Santander Consumer USA will attack you with interest at every chance they get. They will tell you when you get close of paying the loan off and adjust the balance to a larger amount and tell you that you will owe $5,000 or more and get you to extend your loan for 6 months or more with a larger interest rate.

I entered into a contract car loan for repayment of ********* in 2017; over six (6) years I was paying approx. $928.00 a month+; when I printed out my payment history I noticed that over six(6) years of payment; and five (5) to eleven (11) payments out of 12 payments a year were all going to "Interest." Total amount paid on my loan$57,689.70; which approximately, 1. $11,695.13 applied to Principal; and, 2. ********* was applied to Interest. Last month Santander *** sent me a settlement letter stating I owe $25,000; after reporting on my credit report default and repossession of my Vehicle.

When I tell you I can't stand this company, I mean it! I purchased a used car through a dealership, who, in fact, doesn't have any records of selling me my car in 2019.... But that's not the issue here. The issue is that I was scammed into buying a used car for a new price, and on top of that. I have to have full coverage on this piece of garbage or I'm breaking my contract, which supposedly gives them the right to take my car and all my money. I've had countless issues with this company and I'm 3 years into my contract with them. They don't offer any kind of help, they call me at least 3 times a day when my payment is late. THEY PREY ON THE POOR AND STRUGGLING, OR IN MY CASE, THE YOUNG AND NAIVE!!!! And they get away with it! This is NOT ok and somebody needs to do something. They're out here ruining peoples lives and they have no remorse, or a single care to give. It's incredibly sad and quite frankly, it disgusts me. I tell everyone I know to stay the **** away from Santander Consumer USA or *************************... Both of these companies disgust me!!!!! I've called lawyer after lawyer and nobody can help or even will, they hear the companies name and they won't take the case... The closest I've got answer wise on why they won't take the case is because they have too many loopholes in their contracts and they make it impossible to do anything... I will tell you this though Santander, and **** my words, I'M NOT GOING DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT! You can delete my credit and ruin my life if you want too, just know that I know you guys straight up **** and I will spend every breath in my body warning others against companies like yours!! Also, you're lucky the BBB makes you choose at least one star, because to me you'd be in the negatives!!

Buyer beware. This is a predatory loan company that preys on individuals that do not have good credit. I paid my payment on time for two years and as soon as I paid the last car payment not including the late fees that they tacked on they reported me to the credit agencies that I was 30 days pas due. I will definitely be disputing this claim.

Literally one of the worst customer service departments I have ever had dealings with! If I could -0 stars I would. The people literally prey on people who are already struggling and it's very disturbing and disgusting!

I wish a negative star was an option. Worst lender in business. Which begs the question of why still in business? They already admitted to unfair, illegal, impossible lending to consumers. The 550 million settlement doesn't even scratch what they have been getting away with for years. They haven't stopped. They don't care and will continue until they are slapped on the wrist again. Who is regulating their auto loans? Who is regulating their "Covid extension month program"? They lie, they mislead, they hang up on you when have questions about interest verses principle payments. One week my settings were miraculously changed to Spanish due to my constant calling. I had to purchase a vehicle 1/13/19 due to me getting hit by a drunk driver. Totaled my truck and left me no vehicle to run my small business. 2020 there was really no business to run. Had I known I would have waited a year to Purchase. They have destroyed my credit and made my already difficult situation so much worse. My payments had no consistent equal division of principal verses interest. Guess where 75% of my payments automatically go to?! Yep, Interest! Nothing makes sense. They refuse to answer questions & explain in black & ************* of how they structured my payments. It's a scam and their business model is based off of confusion. 23k loan 3 years My payments = 15k+ Still owe = 21k

Santander *** was the lender when I purchased a vehicle. I make my payments to their website using my routing/account number from my bank. Usually, a day or two would pass and I would notice that ACi DrvFin ******, was debiting my account for the same amount of my car payment.. How they got my debit card information is a mystery, but I was being double charged for my car payments almost every month for well over a year. That is fraud, plain and simple. I reported this to my bank and they returned two payment to me after an investigation was done. The bank is looking further back to see if this has been an ongoing thing.
