      Back in December of 2023, I leased a PlayStation 5 from First American Finance thinking I could make a few monthly payments and be finished paying for it quickly. I did not find out how much I would be paying for it in a total amount until sometime after I leased it.I was told up front that I could return the merchandise at any time, or that i could pay it off early at any time. Much later I learned that the payoff would be a total of payments totaling $4,096.25. There is no way Im paying that for a PlayStation 5. I have already paid $2,472.40 on the ps5.I have already paid for it twice. Today I learned that this company has many lawsuits against them for illegally overcharging pass the maximum allowed. I am not making another payment on this merchandise because I have been overcharged and I feel as though they know they are wrong. Something needs to be done about this company because this is ridiculous.

      This is a critical grievance regarding AMERICAN FIRST FINANCE in ******, **. They have supplied phony and unverifiable data on my credit record to the credit reporting agencies, they have failed to complete a real investigation, and more importantly, they have not provided any proof of the errors in which they're reporting. The precise info in dispute is AMERICAN FIRST FINANCE Account # ****************. Regardless of how often I try to correct the flaws in my credit profile, this institution continually ignores my disputes, which causes me a lot of unwanted monetary as well as mental anxiety. I want the mistaken info purged from my credit file now. All of this has caused extreme damage, not solely to my credit, but additionally to my good reputation. Please assist. Thank you so much.

      To Whom It May Concern:

      Hello and thank you for responding. However, I was certain that I had paid this account in full before actually looking at my credit report. I had never received any notification that this account still had a balance on it, nor was I informed that it was charged  off. 

      In fact, when I first saw it on my credit report, this account was initially reporting as "Open" and late 30 days, and that was the only reason that I was disputing it because I knew that all of my payments had been on time and in full. That's when I called and someone told me there was still a balance, and although I disagreed, I still went ahead and paid it so that you wouldn't report it negatively on my credit. And yet, you're doing so anyway.  I have attached a screenshot regarding this.

      I don't believe there was a balance owed (yet I gave it to you anyway). I was never late, always made my payments on time (and yet, you are scolding me anyway). I called you immediately, in good faith, while the account was still reporting as open (and yet you are rebuking me anyway). You updated the status to closed and charge-off AFTER I called to resolve the error and ended up giving you more money than I should have. 

      This is unfair and unethical business practices, and the only thing that I'm asking is that you remove the charge-off status or remove the account in its entirety so as not to cause me so much "UNDUE" harm to my credit. 

      Also, please note that American Finance claims that they have sent a Statement of accounting that includes a complete payment history but I never received such information. Without that documentation, American Finance is still unable to substantiate the accuracy of the information that is being reported regarding this account. And therefore, I demand that the above points be considered to finally resolve my case.

      Purchased the Moped on May 19th 2024 from an Owner at ******* named **** where I was told to pay ***** to process the application for approval to pay in increments which I was approved for 1200 having to pay American Finance every 2 weeks of ****** until paid off or take the option for Early Buyout which I aimed to-do and have been doing that expires on August 28th 2024 its now July 16th 2024, My Buyout should be ****** since I last paid on July 8th 2024 and received a notification that i am to pay more then what my Buyout is. States ******!!! This company American First Finance has been giving me all types of excuses as to whats what. NOT MAKING ANY SENSE one agent tells me one thing the other tells me another! AGAIN NOT MAKING ANY SENSE. I advised what the Owner **** got from me at the time of approval which was an additional ****** which was zelled to him ( I HAVE ALL THE ****** because the moped was for 1300 not 1200. When I advised AFF they had no records of such and states they cant do anything about it. FINE! but then says I was approved for 1315 not 1200! I then became furious as that was not discussed nor in our agreement. AFF then decided to change it on their end to reflect!! WHATS THAT?!!!! I need help.. I have been paying more than expected so I can take advantage of the EARLY BUYOUT OPTION just to findout theyre adding more fees etc to it!! I should be at ******! not ******!! Tried reaching out to AFF no answer response or a single care in the world!! My health has gone very poor due to the headaches, High blood pressure ***** of this mess!! I dont think anyone should go through what these people have put me through!. Therefore, I come to you and wanna advised others of such. This company and how they managed things and take away from people is unacceptable. I just shouldnt have to be writting this crying and here I am. HELPPP, Im extremely sadden and ****** have mightve cursed everyone out by now but with every reasoning of course. NEED THIS RESOLOVED

      On June 28th, a day after setting up a contract with this company through American Freight, I called to change my payment frequency. I was told in-store that I would have to call after signing up to change the frequency to monthly; that it could not be set up this way in store. So, I did. I spoke with a lady whom asked me a few questions about my requested frequency and informed me of how much I would pay monthly. I confirmed if everything was set up before ending the call and she stated it was. She set me up with a monthly date of the 28th. (She left no records of my call/request, I still have a screenshot of the call from my call log though). The agent lied and didnt set up anything, in fact a weekly payment came out which is when I noticed the error. I reached out via email because at this point it was more convenient with my work schedule and moving. I informed that I spoke with someone who put me on monthly but I was still set up for weekly still. The email advisor cancelled autopay and told me to call to set up monthly. (very unfortunate since I had already done this, also quite inconvenient again). So I called when I was able to get the time to during the scheduled hours for phone support. The agent informed me then that I had no notes to back my call on the 28th and ironically I was looked at as a liar. Although the advisor stated ** not calling you a liar, their tone said different and seemed sarcastic!! I was told I would have to make another payment before I could get help!? After I was told my next payment wouldnt be until the 28th of July? The advisor also said i should have made time to call earlier, excuse me?

      Keep getting charges from this company and I have never had an account with them ended up getting fraudulent activity non stop because of it and had to cancel my card.

      Hello!!!! I financed a bed, dresser, night stand, it cost me 1700 or a little more, well I called them to see when it was going to be my last payment. The woman on the phone told me I own 1400 dollars more, I ask her how. She told me that theyre charging me 6.00 dollars a day because I did pay it off in February, I told her that didnt make sense and if its 6.00 then its not 1400 its 7.00 hundred and it was Fraud in what they was doing and I was reporting them, then they try to change it, but by now hen I made my decision to report them to you guys. If they did it to me or try how many more they have done it to and dont know they have rights. Please look into this finance company, They are ripping people off. Thank you

      I just checked my email and noticed I had a couple of emails from American First Finance stating I was approved for loans. One email loan was from TN and the other was for PA. Which I did not do. And then they sent a contract with my SSN number and an old address from where I lived 5 years ago. They also started I make 11k bi weekly which is also false. The company that was sent the contract was for a piece of jewelry from the Gold Factory LLC in **. They used a cell number that is not mine **************). My number has an 219 area code and I have had this cell number for over 20 years. They also used an old checking account number that has been closed for close to 5 years. I do not know how this loan company ran the credit with incorrect information plus a closed bank account. And the contract asks for a signature and they just used my initials.This loan company and jewelry store needs to be looked into for fraud and identity theft.

      Me and my roommate went to American freight located in the north hills center in ada ********* we were looking to lease a couch and we both agreed we wouldnt spend a lot of money on this couch, when we were in store we seen a couch advertised for around $3,173 (I dont remember the exact price but I know it was a little over $3,000. The lady that was working came up to us asking if we were interested in the couch , she told us it would be a year lease for the price that was advertised so we decided to sign up for it. She told us at sign up we would be paying $136 every 2 weeks for a year. My year is up and my account still has a balance which was odd to me because Ive never missed a single payment. Ive called customer service and they told me there is nothing I can do that Im gonna have to keep paying on it until June 2025 because apparently what that lady didnt inform us about was we supposedly had a time limit to pay the amount that was advertised we purchased couch in June 2023 and had till October 2023 to pay the amount and since we didnt we have until June 2025 to pay. We were never informed of this because we would never had signed up for a couch worth more than its value when we were looking for a cheaper option to begin with. I have already paid over $3,000 for this couch. They said the only thing we can do is file a complaint I informed them that the store was no longer open and they said they can still file a complaint? The payment plans are all through American first finance and thats I have been contacting and can not get a reasonable resolution.

      On March 13, 2024 I purchased furniture that was financed through American First Finance. The first payment of $266.84 was collected that day with the agreement that payments of $266.84 would be collected once a month. In April, *** and June they withdrew double payments of $266.84 causing other payments I made to be rejected and I was charged $30 each by my bank. I have called American First Finance and they have refunded the extra payments in April and May, saying both times it wouldn't happen again. But I called June 19 and was told it would be refunded in 3-5 business days. It is now June 27 and still NO refund. I have also asked to have my overdraft fees of $180 be refunded and have received no compensation..
