First it started back in July when I wanted to change my payment instead the rep never changed payments had both payments come out...that was number 1, so they refunded me back one paynent... 2nd they took another payment out without authorization...., 3rd draws the line I got layed off from my job so I calls the company stating that I need help with payment they told me I wasn't 45 days late so they couldn't do anything at the time....so I called again same answer...so on September 29th, I talked to a lady Carily in Customer Advacate, so she tells me they can do a pay off for $849.00 by October 14th, sorry just started back to work that's not going to work, so I thought I was setup on the first start program but apparently it wasn't...so I just want to pay off this bill so they reported it to the credit bureau and my score went down -71 points unacceptable when you're calling this company asking for help and they say no because you're not 45 days past due...for this program

I purchased a furniture set from American Freight on 10/07/2021 for a total of $2,399.97 through American First and have made bi-weekly payments of $194.28 since then totaling $5051.28 to date without missing a payment. Upon learning of a change in my employment status, I reached out to American Freight asking for the remaining balance to be adjusted especially given that I had already paid back more than double what I borrowed. They offered me a settlement of $1200 to which I informed them I had no means of being able to pay. The settlement amount was then adjusted to $900 but, again, this is not something that I would be able to cover for the foreseeable future. I would either like my next scheduled payment to be my last or my account to be settled in full and closed. It has become financially unsustainable and an immense burden.

I used lease-to own with an early buy out option with American First finance on 07/30/2022. The total amount leased including delivery but not taxes was 2,499.92. Texas state tax is 8.25 for a total of 2706.16 leased . This does not include liability insurance that I did not have an option to opt out of and an early buy out option of around $50. I have made payments totaling 835.12 that includes all fees . I look on my account , and it still shows that I owe 2,185.23. I have called multiple times and they have sent me multiple "transaction history " that still doesn't answer the question . Where is all the money going ? They are predators and there are a ton of hidden fees .

On 5/13/2022 I purchased a fridge and washer and dryer for $2720. I was going to pay it in full put the sales rep keep pushing me to do a 5 month ZERO interest payment plan with there lenders.

I told me if I don't finishing paying in 5-months only a 26% interest rate would kick in. After 5 months my remaining balance was around $320 dollars. I logged in on 9/30/2022 to pay off the remaining balance. The balance on American first was 6k almost 7k. I called chatted a representative thinking it was a mistake they immediately started arguing with me saying the discount period was over and that the new balance was 6500ish.

Technically the 5-month interest free plan wasn't over and even if it was a 4 month plan that wasn't over either. I'm currently on hold waiting to speak with management. To pay off the remaining $300. They need to be investigated and a class action lawsuit needs to be filed against them. This is one of the worst forms of derogatory predatory frauds I've ever seen. This can't see legal.

I went to a furniture store called Badcock in New Bern NC in March of 2022, they make you fill out a form on a stand up kiosks machine in order to see how much you qualify for (you think it's with Badcock but it's not! They don't tell you this when applying for credit so I'm thinking it's with Badcock mind you I have brought a furniture set and paid it off with them before no problems. I got approved for $7500 which I only needed $2500 of that to get my mother who is elderly and on disability a new Refrigerator. Long story short on my credit report the loan from American First Finance is listed as an Auto Loan and says I owe them $426 a month!!!! This is not accurate at all. Also I have paid off the refrigerator and they still are taking $ 98 dollars from my bank account every Friday, when I went to check my balance to see why this is, my balance keeps going up instead of down no one can explain why this is or why I supposedly still owe $1600 on the Refrigerator!!!! I have bank statements showing it's paid for! My credit is getting messed up because of them now. I called to speak with an agent, first off the email is not valid that she tried having me send my info to along with pictures and when I asked for her employee Id number for records she couldn't give me one!!! No supervisor name no nothing!!! Every call center has a number for their employees!!! Something needs to be done to stop these people. They lie so bad and are Ruining peoples credit and lives!!! I'm very big on my credit and things being reported according to how it is! They have places thinking I have an Auto Loan out and I don't!! Please fix it and help!!!!!

I have paid the account and they promised to delete the account from my credit report. Currently it is showing as a charge off account and derogatory status. They only added a remark that it was paid. I need this removed from my credit report like they promised. I paid them.

It still says derogatory status and In collections status. This is not correct. If the account was settled it should not say a status of derogatory on my report. I will not stop until this is corrected.

bout 2 sofas, one was a sectional and protection plan.
purchase agreement says i owe $7530.17
i called to find out if this was true of the amounts owed and they say it was, however I was never provided any paper work of the contract with the disclosures. I told them to stop my automatic payments. operator then escalated the situation and came back and said they would settle for $2300 plus what i have already paid which is close to $1600. this is comes to about $3900. it was never disclosed that this was a rent to own instead of credit loan. it is still too much money for discount furniture. i have never had these kinds of issues dealing with rooms to go or Ashley furniture. i feel deceived by a predatory loaner.

I was convinced to finance $1579 for furniture I was originally going to pay for in cash by American Freight store as I was told it was the only way to get the warranty. I was explained standard finance terms, did credit app on a computer and was asked to sign one page on an ipad with finger. Told I would get an emailed copy of my contract. I never did. When I went to pay off remainder in February, I saw the total said I owed $6000. American First Finance fraudulently entered my docusign signature into a contract I never saw, charging me 4x the amount I agreed to finance furniture. I told them to stop my autopayments until they fixed it, they stopped payments, ignored all my contacts to have my invoice corrected so I could pay off the remainder as requested. They then illegally put me in collections, dropped my credit 100 points due to a charge off and still refuse to respond to my calls or emails. All told I have reached out to American First Finance 67 times via phone or email since February. I have had to explain and re-explain my case to 14 representatives, including ******** ******* *******, ********* ******, ****** ****** and ****** who is supposedly assigned to my case but always seems to be on lunch. I have spent more than 8 hours on hold in total and have documented evidence of every single thing I have said here as does American First through their recorded call system. I am retaining all evidence should I need to pursue litigation, I have attached just a sampling of the many attempts I have made to reach the company. I want the Charge Off and past due reports removed from my credit report immediately, the invoice corrected to the $455 I actually owe and once that is confirmed in writing and taken care of I have no problem paying the $455 and the account will then be closed properly as paid in full. It is very obvious from the numerous comparable claims on this site that this is a common fruadulent business practice that American First Finance does.

I bought wheels and tires and used American first finance to lease them. I've missed 2 payments and I paid to make up for those two which totaled out to $10061. I've made a total amount of payments up until now adding up to around 4100 and the settlement price is upwards of $5000 . So overall I'd pay between 9,000 to $10,000 for wheels and tires that were only about 4,500? And the settlement amount is more than what I paid for them? And now I have to lay a minimum amount due of $900 when I already paid for the missed payments? I've talked to representatives, who are rude by the way, and got lied to when I made that payment of 10061 a few months back when they told me they'd add the upcoming payment to that and they didn't. It's killing me financially. I live paycheck to paycheck and even then I'm struggling. If I would've known this and read the reviews about this company I would have just saved up to get them, which I should have, but my impatience cost me more than I thought it would. I am truly TRULY struggling because of that. I can't just send the wheels back because I sold my old ones to help with these. So now they're my only set. Definitely read all of the reviews no matter how impatient you are. The only good thing I took away from them is how to just be patient and save and do research on these types of things before I get myself into a huge debt when something should already be paid off.

Purchased a couch on a lease from this company, they provided me a $50 credit and a $100 credit due to issues with the merchandise. I have made several rent payments also and the option to buy out the lease was extended until September 15 2022,.
Contacted them due to the buy out price being incorrect, at $398, the purchase was $589 and the contract states it can be bought out by the buy out date for the original purchase price l, minus rent payments and taxes and fees.
I have paid $467 in payments on the $589 purchase, leaving a $122 balance, adding taxes of approximately $30 and the $99 fee brings is to around $251 as of right now, however they are trying to say I have to pay $398. They are trying not to include the credits they issued to my account. They provide a detailed transaction report showing $467 in rent payments but refuse to apply it.
