I had purchased 2 pair of glasses for ******* optical in ******* GA for $855.78. I was asked by the store's salesperson, if I wanted to go with American First Finance: My Agreement Number: *********** to pay for the glasses and how it was easy and how I would pay it back weekly until it was paid in full. She never told me about any leasing fees. So, I signed up, given the fact that I didn't have all the cash on hand at that time. That was on July 2, 2024, my 1st payment started coming out on July 6 (Weekly) and now fast forward its December 1 and my balance as shown on their website is $795.14. The last I checked $38.32 weekly for 25 weeks=$958. (2 payments were unscheduled). However, $855.78 (purchase price) - $795.14 ("AFF website stated balance") = $60.64 would be all they claim I would have paid over a 4months and a week period. I saw this early buyout in my emails that tells me that my payment was received, I had paid, and I am believing that this "early buyout" was my balance that was steady going down. Mind you there is no place that show that the early buyout isn't the balance. How in the world can you pay off the balance if you don't know it. This is total predatory lending practices at its best.I was given this phone number in the chat ************** which when I call it didn't work.I was given another number to call, and I got a guy who tells my balance is over $900 conflicting with what their own website stated. Then tells me that he could offer me a buyback if I paid $327.71 to close the account. I took the buyout & was told that I would get an email stating the account is closed, I still have not received that email. And I was told the company could not provide me anything in paper. If I know what the goal is, and the company continues to move the goal post. How is that fair. I want $327.71 of my funds back. I would love if someone can get to the bottom of this, closed out my account and get my funds back. Thank youBusiness Response

I have had a loan with this company for almost 8 months on 24 November. I had a buyout of $$654 on the 25 November. I made a payment $354 plus they took my weekly payment out of $62. My new buyout is $515. I called. I asked for a detailed bill of how my $354 was paid to them and they sent me some mumbo-jumbo about me owing $1417 so you can make $412 payment or thereabouts 22 between the two payments and your buyout only goes down approximately $130. Where did the other $285 you can you can do a lot, but however is this $285 disappeared over half the payment wow what a company no wonder why conns plus went out of business with finance companys like thisBusiness Response

I attempted to cancel a contract which was signed today, an amount of $1500 financed with Luxe Jewelers. The jeweler referred me back to American First Finance to cancel contract, would not cancel on their end. I attempted to explain to several American First ***** the amount, $1500, is a down payment on item, not full cost, which is actually $6500. When I attempted to explain this, which I believe is against their policy, *** referred to contract amount, $1500, which again, is not full cost of item. Contract was not cancelled to best of my knowledge. A fee in amount of $10.80 was charged which along with cancelation, needs to be refunded.Business Response

Consumer filed a new complaint:
American First Finance has been debiting my account in the amount of $93.45 for several weeks now..This amount is a weekly payment towards a bracelet purchase made with SB Jewelers, amount of $2500 financed. The bracelet amount is around 4500 I believe, $2500 placed as down payment. I believe finance services used incorrectly, service is to be used for items paid in full, not as down payment. I do not have bracelet as it is being held by ***********. I've placed a stop payment on further debits from American First Finance and request contract canceled as I do not wish to use their service, due to high rate of interest
Desired Resolution: cancel contract

I ordered furniture from American Freight. I took off work to wait for the furniture, and I was told I would be given a delivery window. I never was. I cancelled the order. I don't have any of the merchandise in my possession. I have been waiting several weeks for a refund of my $54.88 initial charge and another charge of $55.22 that was taken from my account after I was told that it would not be. American First Finance keeps saying they haven't received communication from American Freight about the cancellation. I have attached the cancellation emails. I would like my refund.Business Response

On June 15th 2024, I purchased furniture from ***************. They promised 0% APR for the next 6 months. I was told that as long as i paid on time twice a month I would be done with the loan long before the 6 months was up. About 2 weeks ago ok what i thought was my last payment, i was informed by American first Finance that i had signed a lease to purchase contract and that my buyout is an additional $2900 on top of the $3200 that i already paid and agreed too!!! The $3200 included delivery and assembly. I escalated the case to the customer advocacy **** with ********************** and I was told they would close my account only if i paid taxes and an $300 over the taxes for an early buyout. I have spent hours on the phone with both companies and they have left me no choice but to report them. I agreed to $3200 including taxes, delivery and assembly. They want to gauge me for an additional $600 above what i agreed too and raising they payoff. I have contacted Cibao furniture on serval occasions requesting my original invoice and they refuse to provide one or the manager is never there. I need this resolved ASAP. American First Finance is also refusing to take my bank information off of their system and today i received a call stating that an additional $395 will be charged on the 28th of Nov. These people are criminals and thieves!Business Response

I have the fullpurchase agreement contract for a washer and dryer in which I have PROOF i paid for a 3 yr warranty. AMERICAN FIRST FINANCE REFUSES to honor it because I bought my applliances out right no where in my contract does it say if I purchase the appliances that my warranty is voided .American finance claims I dont even have one because I paid it off and the contract is closed from the day I paid it off. This company is a ***** I paid this purchase off after the agreed time and they reported to my credit that I owed them ******** the day after I paid the purchase in full. And reported I wasnt paying on it which was total bs.(Which is only what you pay if you violate your contract. The contract says I can buy my appliances after a certain time in which I did I had to call and complain to the manager who sold me the appliances at the time and it took her over two months to get it fixed.)Reminder I have the contract from the original purchase date After being told I dont have warrantys by the company I threw a fit and told them to send me the contract they had Funny how the contract provided by them MATCHES MINE and says I purchase the warrantys They still deny I have warrantys for my items And now the story changed and I have to go back to the location i purchased them from., to find out what the problem is.THERES A GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SUGN OVER THE BUILDING AND LAST I NOTICED IT LOOKS EMTPY so now I need to waste my gas and return to the purchase location to talk to people (if anyone is even there) who guaranteed werent the people i purchased from 2 years ago and ask them about how i paid for a policy and its no where to be found.Seriously I want a full refund for my warranty purchase or they need to honor the warranty o purchase and fix my washer that died 3 months before my warranty ends Yeah we are only 3 months to the deadline so Im not surprised by any means that this company is trying to s**** me out of a warranty I have PROOF OFBusiness Response
