American First Finance is a scam. First I noticed that payments that were being made were not all going to the principal. I paid $86.16 a month for over 2 years. Come to find out they were only applying $47 to the principal and when I asked where the rest was going they seemed to have no answer. Its a rental fee on top of the leasing fee? Thats not the agreement we had. In addition we were paying for a damage protection plan that protected nothing. Only natural disasters. I mean I live in *********** I dont see a natural disaster occurring here. lol. Nice try American Scam Artists. Im filing a formal complaint. This is a bogus business practice. How in the world was my merchandise $ 1097 and I still owe $837. The stop payment has been issued by *******. And my auto pay removed. I want a refund for the last 2 years of that $7 you stole from me for your natural disaster protection plan. Next time be clear when you use one and then say to me that the damages arent covered unless its in a natural disaster. Unreal I want a refund of that money and my account cancelled.Business Response

Upon reviewing my purchase agreement, I have noticed that the total amount being charged is significantly higher than the cost of the item purchased. iPhone 15 $1500. I was charged ******** + ***** initial payment. I was lied to by this company. The agreement was never explained. They stated that I will only be paying the item amount of $1500 which they will be extracting from my bank account monthly ****** until reaching $1500. I come to find out this was never true, with the contract agreement they had me sign that did not highlight any of this, but now this company is saying that everything was explained. I filled paperwork out to purchase a phone through American First Finance but did not take the phone the order was canceled the company debit my checking account for ****** and refuse to cancel the bill for a phone I do not have The phone store I was dealing with say the sent the order of cancellation to America first but they will not accept the cancellation Numerous calls have been made with no resolutionBusiness Response

We purchased a set of wheels and tires, same as cash for 12 payments of ****** every 2 weeks which is equal to 6 months. We have paid 15 payments of ******. Our last statement balance for November was $341 and some change. Now that we have met our OBLIGATION. they have stated the new payoff is over ***** dollars. That puts us at ****** dollars for a set of mediocre wheels and tires. Then when I call customer service, they just hung up without even answering. We met out OBLIGATION. We are done paying. And then to top it off they don't allow you to turn off auto pay on the website so now we have to try and call again just to keep this thief of a business from STEALING money they ARENT owed. NEVER will I ever recommend this supposed "company" to finance anyone ever.Business Response

My credit shows i have a open housing collection preventing me from getting a apartment so me and my daughter been homeless over a year. I lost my job and had to move back to ********* from ****. *** does not know where the debit is hindering me from getting approved for apartment. I am trying to set up payments suitable for me. There wait times on two hours each time and they refer me back to January ***** My credit report says American First Finance. I have been waiting a over a week for answer. I tried to make a payment for a late payment. I authorized a $100 transaction to be taken out of my checking account. A few days later when I went to pay for groceries my account got denied. When I went to check my account the $100 charge was taken out along with 4 separate ****** transactions. That then caused my account to be over drawn and bounced back my rent check. Now I have to find the money to pay my rent and the late fees for my rent. I put another account down for automatic payment but they still take it out of my primary checkingBusiness Response

This company American First Financial put a hold for an amount of money which I never authorized and at first said they couldnt do a refund, then after telling them I was going to submit a complaint the said it would take 10 days to get the refund.Business Response

On 8/15/24 I completed a preliminary appointment at Aspen dental for needed dental repair for health reasons. I applied for financing and was approved for $5000 with American First Financing with a down payment of $75 and bi-weekly payments of $162 and an offer to avoid the finance charge if I paid off the financed amount by December 15th. On December 10th I was made aware that American First Financing had taken back $1958 of the original financed amount and is still requesting that I pay them the owed balance of $1800 by December 15th or they will apply the full amount of the finance charge from the original amount of the finance plan which originally was $5000. I only owe them the finance charge on the remaining balance I used after they took their $1958 back in November but they refuse to reconfigure their finance charge amount which is fraud as they did not make me aware they were taking the money back and I did not have the opportunity to speak with anyone about the contract in an educated manner when applying in detail for this financing which was misleading and has been fraudulent to date. They are using this system to fraud people out of money in a way that is wrong when we are in need of services and unknowingly signing up for assistance. Aspen dental did not help in explaining the financial contract and obligations and has been double charging my insurance as evidenced in my explanation of benefits this entire time as well, so I have been charged and paying twice through American First and Aspen and they have been giving me a credit on the back end after my services have been completed. This entire system is fraudulent, and they have not fixed this situation to date regardless of my complaints and asks for help. Please help, I do not have the credit, extra funds, or mental health to keep this up with these organizations and I'm still missing my tooth in the front on my mouth while working with the public in the community! I bought a washer and dryer from a going out of business sale was told there is no interest for the first 90 days well when I made my payment, I noticed that they took over half of what I paid for themselves and told me that this is their finance fee. That is the same thing as an interest fee and thats what my sole purpose was buying it because there was no interest fee only a week later. Did I find this information out and I requested they pick up their equipment and I will no longer be paying for this. They refused and told me to take it back to the store When I had to pay out of my own pocket to get it home, the company said no they will not take it back. I do not want this product. On August 29 Of 2024 I was informed by American first financial that they were going to do a stop payment on my account because I have not received the Furniture as of yet the next following day which the payment was due on they took the money out of my account which is deceptive act to tell someone that youre gonna do something and do the complete opposite and it has been downhill. I called for over a month to resolve the issue and was informed that they would apply credits to the account due to the miscommunication and hardship however, it didnt stop there in September. One of my items from the furniture store was damaged & Me & the furniture store manager both reached out to the finance company again to let them know that the item was damaged that I was waiting on them to replace the damaged chair. However, later on I found out someone at the finance company place notes in my account that I had a damaged washing machine, which was wrong and f falsifying-documenting and Mishandling my account. reached out to the finance company once more to resolve both issues on my account another month went by again I was informed that they would be applying credits to my account until they resolve the issues at this time the credits wouldve been for four months due it being almost November and I spoke to only one Supervisor after calling multiple times to resolve the issue and the supervisor said that only three credits wouldve been applied to the account and the fourth would have been pushed back 2 days before the 4th payment was due I told the supervisor that I was informed that that credit would be applied to the account up until the they straightening out the account but but the Supervisor stated only 3 credits was applied to the account and they wouldve be pushing Back the 4th payment which is very misleading & this is a breach of contract due to it being almost December today which is 12/05/ 1024Business Response
