We take all of our clients' concerns very seriously and a continued commitment to customer service is something that drives this firm in every aspect of our business. It is understandable that a client feels like "We have done nothing" when they cancel before their ultimate goal, which is the filing of their Bankruptcy Petition and the discharge of their debts, but this simply isn't the case. We have represented this client since January of 2023, fielding creditor calls, verifying representation, processing incoming documents, preparing the initial petition, reviewing legal documents from the client and meeting with them several times to ***** them through a successful filing

Our goal is to consistently provide a streamlined process for the preparation and filing of our clients' cases.

After discussion with ****************** and a review of her concerns, we believe we have a achieved a resolution that is satisfactory to all parties and remain committed to assisting ****************** if there is any assistance we can provide in the future.

All thisAll this is a lie, they did not do anything they have written here, I did not even send a document, I just signed a document to be able to do it. The bankruptcy but in reality they never supported me, not even with the calls, everyone had to solve it. In reality, they only charged me and never did anything. They do not have any proof of document that I sent or absolutely anything from my contacts, nothing that they can do to them. to state that I worked with them or that they worked with me, that is a lie.in call me yesterday just for give me a refund for $200 when my total was $995 that is scam.all this  its not true ??

Allmand Law Firm has previously provided our client with an Accounting of Services that lists all documents, phone calls, emails and text messages as well as other worked performed on their behalf, as outlined in our retainer agreement.

We don't like to see a complaint re-opened after believing we have reached a mutually agreed upon resolution to a client's concerns, but we remain committed to resolving client disputes timely and within the bounds of our retainer agreement.

We have spoken with this client again and believe the resolution we have reached fully resolves this client's concerns and remain committed to assisting this client throughout the closeout process.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 08/14/2024

I am rejecting this because:I would really like for this to be resolved without them having to call me or me calling them to resolve it, they should have just returned the full amount of $995. Of which they only returned ****************************************************************************************************************************** more because the rest were administrative fees, which seems unfair to me because they never represented me in court, they never answered a call to resolve my problems, they really have no proof that they represented me in court or that they helped me with creditors, a paralegal didn't even call me to tell me that they could advise me in some situations that I had to resolve with creditors but that I resolved everything on my own. That is why it seems fair to me that they return the full amount of 995 that they automatically took out of my account every month with payments of $50. I am simply trying to get my full refund because I have never received any service from you as a bankruptcy office, you leave a lot to be desired for a client, I am simply demanding my full refund because that is the best way for both of us. I got nothing from you so I need my money back, one pays for a service not to be robbed.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/07/2024

This client was not originally due any refund under our retainer agreement. We have to charge for work completed and over the lifetime of our relationship with this client we have billed more hours than the client has paid. Even so, in response to the original complaint, we had a conversation with our client and offered a refund of $200. The client indicated this was a satisfactory resolution and we responded to the complaint. Then, a month later, the client re-opened the BBB complaint asking for additional resolution. We again contacted our client and offered an additional $500 refund to which the client stated they were "Happy with the result and would mark the complaint as resolved".

Now, with an additional rejection pending we are stuck with how to proceed. Our office retains ~600 clients a month and the vast majority are pleased with the services we provide. When we fall short we do everything in our power to resolve an issue before it escalates. When something escalates to the BBB, we go above and beyond and often find ourselves refunding clients for work completed in an effort to successfully resolve the complaint. This situation is a first for us in which an agreement has been reached when communicating directly with our offices, but rejected publicly on the BBB.

I first signed up with Allmand Law Firm to complete a bankruptcy in Feb. 2024. I went on a payment plan that would end May 15, 2024; however, I paid them off earlier. Within the first several months while I was making payments, there was no communication, each time I attempted to get information I was told there was no information to obtain until all payments were made. I've never filed bankruptcy before, so I figured that was normal. I continued to submit documents, which they haven't reviewed (very few docs approved, such as copy of DL and SS Card). Each time I call to inquire about the status of my case, they tell me I need to submit documents they already have and had for months or tell me that now they need a new set of documents. I have sent them several emails expressing my concerns regarding their lack of communication. Recently I asked for an invoice or ledger to show what progress they have made, and they sent me back an email stating I will speak with an Attorney on the 8th to discuss my case; no ledger or invoice provided. It's apparent this firm does not care about a client's time or need for timely response. Since dealing with this Law Firm my financial situation has gotten worse, my car was repossessed, and the Law did not offer any legal advice and basically told me there was nothing they could do. This company does not communicate nor return calls back to their clients. I will be filing a complaint with the State Bar of Texas regarding their practices and lack of communication with clients. I WANT ALL OF MY MONEY COMPLETELY REFUNDED. I have lost all confidence in this firm that they are handling my case with utmost concern, therefore I will take my business elsewhere. After providing service such as this and reading several horrible reviews from previous clients with the same grievances, I am sure they are not going to be the best choice to fight for my bankruptcy in court

I first signed up with Allmand Law Firm to complete a bankruptcy beginning in December 2023. I went on a payment plan that would end June 15, 2024. Within the first several months there was no communication, which I figured was normal, yet I continued to submit documents, which as of this time have not even been reviewed by their staff (very few docs approved, such as copy of DL and SS Card). However, for the past month, I have been trying to get Allmand Law Firm to go through what has been submitted and ensure that it was correct, so that on June 15th we would not be tying up loose ends, but instead we would be filing. It is apparent that the firm does not care about a clients time or need for timely response. This company does not communicate nor return calls back to their clients. I am also filing a complaint with the State Bar of Texas regarding their practices and lack of communication with clients. I want my money back completely; a FULL REFUND. I have lost all confidence in this firm that they are handling my case with utmost concern, therefore I will take my business elsewhere. We take all of our clients' concerns very seriously and a continued commitment to customer service is something that drives this firm in every aspect of our business.

Our goal is to consistently provide a streamlined process for the preparation and filing of our clients' cases.  However, the level of documentation required varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. This can prove frustrating for debtors as they navigate the preparation stage of their filing. Allmand Law works diligently to alleviate as much of this frustration as possible, while maintaining a high standard of work product that sets our clients up for the best possible outcome for their case.

After discussion with ************************ and a review of his concerns, it was decided that we would be closing his account with our firm and that he would not pursue a bankruptcy filing with Allmand Law.

We believe we have a achieved a resolution that is satisfactory to all parties and remain committed to assisting ************************ if there is any assistance we can provide in the future.

The Law firm offers a 100 percent money back promise no questions asked and offered a payment that seemed to fit any budget. Once I made my payment plan with them everything changed. This place is like calling a overseas call center, they misguided me and gave me wrong information, I could never directly speak to a paralegal or an attorney. I contacted a different local law firm and they answered all my questions and I was able to speak directly with that attorney. I fired allmand law and canceled within the 48 hours of my payment I paid. They refused to refund me even though they did nothing on my case, it's because they are mad I chose a different lawfirm. I filled fraud on them with my bank.

We take all of our clients' concerns very seriously and a continued commitment to customer service is something that drives this firm in every aspect of our business.

After discussion with **************** and a review of her concerns, it was decided that we would be closing her account with our firm and that she would not pursue a bankruptcy filing with Allmand Law.

In line with our stated refund policy outlined in the retainer agreement, a comprehensive review of her case and work performed determined that no refund would be warranted. An itemized invoice was prepared and sent via email to the client upon the closing of her account with the firm.

Allmand Law does provide for a 48-hour money back guarantee in our retainer agreement. However, this period begins at the point of retention, not from the date of payment.

We believe we have a achieved a resolution that his satisfactory to all parties and remain committed to assisting **************** if there is any assistance we can provide in the future.

February 29, 2024 Allmand Law withdrew 3k from my account to start the process to file Chapter 7 without my spouse. Everything was going good until they asked for my spouse information. Then I was asked for the information repeatedly for 2 months even though I had provided the information the first time they requested. It was as if the information was going to change. They also put the house that is being leased on my file. After repeatedly telling them that the house cannot go on there I do not own it, they continue to put it on the file. Once they took it off and my debt ratio decreased dramatically then it became a problem. I was given the run around for 2months. When I was finally contacted and was told that I was over the Texas household amount and that I should file Chapter 13. I felt like they wanted me to file Chapter 13 to get more money out of me. If I had the money I wouldn't be in this situation. The last conversation I had with *********************** located out of ****** said he would not charge me for this zoom meeting call and still tried to persuaded me into Chapter 13. I told him I wasn't interested and felt like I was strung along. **************** stated someone from the refund department would call me once they looked over my file and give me the breakdown of my refund. I sent him an email while we were still on the phone requesting that I wanted a refund. It has been over 3 days and no phone call. I tried calling on the 4th day and my call wasn't going thru so I called from my spouse's phone and the call connected me to someone. The person who answered acted like they had no clue of who I was and couldn't pull up my file. I asked why was my number blocked? I shouldn't have to call from a different number. He acted dumbfounded. Said he would transfer me to the refund department. The call looped back to him and he was still confused. He stated someone is on an important call and they would call me back. Still waiting on that call. I just want a full refund.

We take all of our clients' concerns very seriously and a continued commitment to customer service is something that drives this firm in every aspect of our business.

The client retained this firm for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filing. Based on the information provided at the initial consultation, it appeared as though the requirements for eligibility for this Chapter had been met. Upon reviewing the Petition with one of our Attorneys, it became clear that the client no longer not met the requirements necessary to file for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.

While we take great care at the client's initial consultation to determine what Bankruptcy options are available to them, we make this analysis based on the information provided at the time of retention. Unfortunately, the options available can change once a case has been fully prepared.

The client elected to not pursue the Bankruptcy option available to her, and after speaking with a member of our team, we reached a resolution which the client accepted, and her case was closed.

I was paying TOWARDS a retainer, discovered horrible reviews about this company online and decided not to hire the agency. I have paid $2,700 to this company to date. I was told no services would be rendered until my retainer was paid in full so I was making payments to fulfill that. Once I notified them I did not want to use them, they suddenly present me with a frivolous invoice in order to KEEP the money I have been paying towards hiring them! They refuse to refund my money and have made harassing phone calls to me trying to bully me into continue making payments and refusing to give my money back though NO SERVICES I was paying for were ever performed. RUN away from this company, they are unethical and fraudulent.

Allmand Law Firm was retained by our client on December 1st, 2022. At that time, a payment plan was agreed upon for our service. As per the terms of the retainer agreement, while we cannot file a case until all pre-petition fees are paid in full, we begin working on cases immediately. The work on this case included multiple client appointments, document review, petition preparation and asset valuation services. We offer flexible payment plans towards our retainer that allow our clients, who often require this option, to pay over time, often in arrears based on the work completed. In this instance we continued to work with our client for 15 months to provide options and help them achieve a fresh start, which we have also offered to still provide. We received a BBB complaint through another BBB listing and attempted to reach out to this client multiple times to achieve a successful resolution but have been unable to have a conversation with our client based on their refusal. It's unfortunate that our client has seen these attempts to resolve their concerns as harassment and we remain committed to providing them with a resolution.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 04/24/2024

I am rejecting this response because:   the business refuses to produce remedy in writing, insisting on phone calls only where they are harrassing in nature. They refuse refund and make claims that services were provided when they were not. MULTIPLE consumer complaints on BBB yet they continue their practices.

    Business Response

Allmand Law does, in fact, have physical office locations in many cities throughout *****, including ******, ***** (**********), and ************  We meet with clients at those and our other office locations every day and all of our clients are encouraged to come into the office whenever they would like to productively go over any matters on their cases.  Allmand Law files hundreds of cases every month for those clients that work with us to finish their bankruptcy matters.

While it disheartens Allmand Law that our former client has these opinions, disbelieving in our offices' existence and distaste for our phone system is not a reason to ignore all of the work that we have done in preparation of this case file. We understand that every client is different and that every client's experience can differ. After corresponding with our former client via email, we believe we have reached a resolution that is satisfactory and resolves this complaint.

As always, we remain committed to assisting them with this any other matter that arises.

I have hire this firm for a Bankruptcy case 02/23/2024 and summited all the paperwork required . now , the keep pushing my case forward and forward and each month that pass they asking me for more paperwork. they won't give me my money back ,they just call me with an appointments call every time its been 6 already and with different paralegal and it always end to another appointment call over and over. I don't want to get to the point of them charging me for each call and never get my money back. what I want from them is if I don't qualify for the service I request , just to get my money and let me go some where else .

I contacted this company to discuss bankrupty. I was given and overview and told I would need to pay a deposit to get the process started in which I did. After doing more research I called the company back within the hour and told them I would not be using their company for personal reasons. I was contacted by an employee of the company 3/11/2024 and told because I canceled within 48 hours I would be issued a full refund. I have contacted the company twice since then and left messages for a call back to understand the refund process. I have not recieved a call back or a refund.

Firstly, I hate that I have to even go here to try and resolve something that should be a simple solution. I deeply regret ever signing up with this law firm, they have been terrible. I was initially speaking with a lady named ********* who spoke to me for a long time and started sending me documents to sign while I was on the phone, she didn't explain what I was signing but just was insisting that it was needed so we can get started with the bankruptcy filing. Everything was so rushed and I didn't get time to read over what i was signing. I got a call after like 2 weeks and spoke to my assistant paralegal and he was very blunt, dismissive, and not very friendly. I was already starting to regret my decision. But I just was hoping my paralegal was nicer, well I had called to make my final payment, and then they scheduled me over 2 weeks out to speak with my paralegal. Here comes Saturday and I try to buy groceries and my card declines... why? Because Allmand Law decided not to cancel the auto pay and they over charged me and took out $750. (I consider this THEFT, as I did not owe this money.) Of course, they are closed on the weekend and left me in a horrible stressful situation. On Monday all I got was a "sorry. We will issue it to return back in a few days" it's now Tuesday evening and I still have not even got as much as a PENDING transaction, but they take my money instantly, funny how that works.I told them I wanted to cancel everything because of the above issues and they scheduled me an appointment with a "cancel manager" over a week out. I drove to the *********** location and told them I needed an appointment TODAY, I was able to get an appointment 3.4.24 and the call I got said he would have billing send me an invoice, they are claiming I owe $800. That amount is unreasonable. I did not use any of their services, and the work they did was so minimal, not including the stress they put me through. Now I am getting ghosted from the business.

Allmand Law has reached out and reduced the invoice fees due to the accounting issue on their end. I'm content with the outcome.

My wife and I used Allmand law to file our bankruptcy and paid our retainer in August of 2023. All was fine at first. Once we started going thru the process things got muddy and communication became a major negative factor. We muddled thru and our first Plan payment for $4465.00 was set to be on October 25 2023. We received an email with instructions of how, and where to send this payment to. Since it was the first payment it was the most important. We followed these instructions and sent 5 Money orders to reach the correct amount and sent via **** Next Day. We were informed after sending they gave us the wrong Trustee information and we needed to get another payment together and send to the correct trustee or our case would be dismissed. If I had 9K laying around bankruptcy wouldn't have been an issue. We had to borrow, and this tanked our case before it began. They offered no assistance. It took 6 weeks to get the money orders refunded via western union. On top ** charged a $15 service fee for each canceled M/O. And still Allmand Law has done nothing to help. Then, on top of all of that. 3 meetings scheduled with our attorney by their office with us were missed. The meetings were virtual so we screen grabbed our time sitting there waiting for our representation to never show. Allmand law told us last week we could (A) Let our case dismiss and refile with them, which means paying them all over. (B) Sell our home. Our case was dismissed 2/15/24 and we will have to refile. My hope is Allmand Law steps up tp the plate and admits they set us up for failure with their error in having us send money to the wrong trustee and the financial disaster that caused, and in doing so refunds us any and all monies paid to them. Following your instructions has had devastating consequence's for my family.
