*** reached out multiple times for assistance. My initial call was to put my case on hold or to cancel and be refunded (as no work has begun)due a financial hardship ie I needed to pause my payment for a week or two to insure my current essential bills were paid. I was told this was not the best ideal and needed to speak with an associate. She assured me someone would reach out. I missed a call 2days later, but returning the call is less than 4 min after vm was left. No answer snd call wasnt returned. There was a email follow up, so I know my message was received, but no call back. I called again later the same day and was told the associate knows Im on the line but said she was done for the day but will return my call the next day. I left a very detailed message for her to assure I did not miss the call and with the best time to reach me to insure that I did not miss her call again. I even received a email from her acknowledging that she received my message and would return my call at a specific time frame. I did NOT hear from her or anyone for that matter. I emailed requesting a response and expressing again that this call to postpone the payment was a very important matter due to my rent being paid with no response. I even called after this to make sure I would be able to pause the payment to pay my rent, but was told she messaged the *** rep that she was in meetings until 5pm and would return my call immediately after. The call never happened and now myself and my 2 small children are facing eviction, with no family, no resources, and no answers from the attorney hired to prevent this. I just want my money back I dont need and additional financial problem on top of the many I already have it.

I started this process with them in May/June. Paid the full retainer by some time in Sept/Oct. They communicated with me until they got my full retainer balance. After that, they stop communicating. Its Feb 1 and I have absolutely no clue whats going on with my file. Apparently they havent filed either after I kept being told they would and that it happens pretty quick once I sign. Well I signed in end of Sept/early Oct and nothing happened. Then they told me I needed to sign again so I did that in early Nov, yet here we are. Nothing. Zip. ***** Really does seem they do communicate and help until they get your money. Then its just leaving you high and dry and zero communication because what else are we as customers going to do. We paid them. Youre just stuck and at their mercy of whenever they feel like it I guess.

At Allmand law we take every complaint and issue very seriously.  In this case, we have reached out to this client in multiple attempts to resolve this matter, some of which were as recently as today.  Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to make contact with her and get her scheduled with an appointment to finish her case filing.  We continue to make such attempts and we look forward to getting her back on tack toward a fresh start.

My name is ***************************** and my husband ********************* and I retained Allmand about 2 years ago for bankruptcy- it did ** time to pay out the deposit but in that time we had emails after emails of non communication. I would have to send numerous emails with all saying 1, 2, 3 and 4th attempt to get hold of someone. We never received a call back in a timely manner. We were never told we made too much too file a certain bankruptcy until January 30th at 2:30pm. By the way the "lawyer" was not even dressed and in a bedroom with clutter everywhere and not a professional standing at all. Then when we objected and said we have proof of emails and non calls they were will in to give us 636 out of the **** we paid- To me that is not okay. They did nothing but stay silent and not do their due diligence in helping us. And I am very upset and want my money back and an apology. I don't want them to do tis to others and say " sure we have this and we can help with chapter 7 and by the time its said they want us to choose chapter 13" NO!!! they should not be allowed to practice law- the consumer and team in that office does not communicate and would like something done ASAP!!!!!!!

At Allmand Law, we are committed to providing the best possible outcomes for our clients.  However, the law limits the amount and types of relief that people are eligible to receive given the facts of their unique circumstances.  In this case, these clients informed this firm of certain facts of their lives, but those facts changed over time.  The manner in which those facts changed was material to determining what kinds of bankruptcy relief was available to them under the law.  We are here, ready and willing, to help them pursue a course that is supported by both law and fact.  Until then, we wish them the very best of luck in all of their future endeavors.

I have been working with them for over 6 months. Nothing gets done. I have had 3 different lawyers tell me they would be filing my case. They do nothing and keep asking for more information, i.e. bank statements etc, because its like we have to start over. They tell me they are sorry and need more information and it will get filed. The last lawyer said theyre busy and have a big firm. I paid my money and they need to finish the job. They need to be reported to the *** Association. Which is my next stop.

I originally signed with them because I ran into financial trouble and they were handling a potential bankruptcy case for me. They have continued to not show up to meetings and not communicate with me despite taking my money for a retainer. Ive never been treated more like revenue in my life. There is absolutely no communication with their clients once they take your money.

Allmand ************** has attempted to contact this client to resolve this BBB complaint on a number of occasions in the past week, but unfortunately, we have not connected.  We are pleased, however, to report that he has been in recent contact with his assigned attorney and his case is on track to be filed very shortly.  Our most recent correspondence to him on this matter reads as follows:

    ************,

I've tried to contact you a few times this week in an attempt to resolve your BBB complaint about our firm.  Unfortunately, I was unable to reach you and your line has not given me a voicemail option.

I have, however, seen that you have recently spoken with your assigned attorney and paralegal,  and your case is on track to be filed in the next week or so, provided the last remaining legal requirements are met.  Still, I wanted to extend a sincere apology that we have not made you feel like a valued client, and that, rather, you felt like you were treated as an income source.  We strive for excellent customer service at this law firm, and I want you to know that even if we did not meet your expectations in that regard, no one ever thought of you or your case as being unimportant.

Below, you can find my personal contact information and title.  As you can see, I am an officer at this firm and I will make myself available to you, personally, should you have any future needs that are being met in timely manner.

    Kind regards,
               Our COO

We're very hopeful that ************ now considers these issues to be adequately addressed, but in the event that he would like to discuss his concerns any further, he has the direct contact information of our COO, who will be available to him throughout the remainder of this process.

Allmand Law has reached out to this client on a couple of recent occasions through our *** in an attempt to address this complaint, but unfortunately, we have not been successful in reaching the client and we have not yet received a call back on this topic.  When we reach him, we look forward to ensuring that any outstanding issues are addressed, but it is most important to note that this client's chief concern has already been alleviated.  In fact, this case was filed before the *** even received this complaint.

I have a Discover card and a few other things I was going to file a bankruptcy on with this law firm, but they informed me they would do absolutely nothing for me until the ******* was paid in full. I recently lost my job and cannot afford to pay the $100 a month for the next 9 months to pay this off. So I called them and someone told me I would get a refund of the majority of the money I have already paid them. I have waited almost two weeks for a reply from them about this and today I was told I cannot get any of my money back that they are keeping the whole ******* when they have done absolutely nothing for me

We were able to come to a resolution with this client after speaking with her and reaching some mutual understandings.  This former client hired this firm to represent her in a legal action but was unable to complete her payment plan for that action.  When this occurs, work on the case ends and the refund is limited to anything paid that has not been earned through work up to that point.  We are still here in the event she has an ability to complete the plan in the future, and we are ready and willing to help her achieve her goals of a fresh start.

Complete scam. Took my money and stopped answering my calls and responding to emails. They filed the paperwork for bankruptcy but did not follow through.

We were saddened to know that this former client felt his customer service experience was less than he expected.  Still, we are happy to report that he did have a successful bankruptcy case that ended with a discharge of his debts.  We have since spoken with him, resolved any outstanding issues, and answered his remaining questions.  We know that bankruptcy can be a complicated and frustrating experience for people, and we are always looking for ways to improve the customer service experience.  We appreciate his feedback and wish all of our clients the best of luck in their futures following their bankruptcy cases.

I signed my chapter 13 paperwork on 11/1 at the *********** location. At the end of my appointment, I was informed my case would be filed by end of day or within 24 hours. I continued to receive collection calls and contacted Allmand law 11/6 for a status update, I was told that my case had not been filed and can take up to 10 business days. After the 10th business day, I contacted Allmand law again after discovering my vehicles were scheduled for repo. I was told that my case had not been filed and I would be contacted with an update. I have left multiple messages for 3 consecutive days and have yet to hear back regarding an update or resolution. Each time I am told there is no update and that messages have been sent to the attorney and paralegal with no response. The receptionist I spoke with today informed me that it could be a few additional business days to hear back about the status of my filing. However I need this issue resolved as soon as possible. Since the day of my signing I have not received any calls or messages regarding any issues with my case so I am unaware of why it has not been filed. My first payment of $3800 is due 12/1 as I was told the payment is due 30 days after filing.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/30/2023

We apologize for not setting better expectations around the timing of the filing.  After we received this complaint, we spoke to this client and explained that occasionally things will come up that require us to do a little more due diligence after the signing appointment.  She understood that and the matter was resolved.  We continue to represent her and her husband in their ongoing case and we look forward to providing an excellent customer service experience going forward.

What can I say about Allmand law....let's see. They gave me false hope in thinking I could file chaper 7. I could only get a call from them once month. They didn't give me the correct paper work to send in for months, this delayed and delayed my bankruptcy. They flat out failed me. They don't care at all, I talk to three different lawyers and two different paralegal, mind you, who seem to have no idea about my case and kept telling me different paper work everytime. How about this Allmand law tell your client up front what they need as they as they are making payments to you. What a complete letdown now. I am in a bad financial situation for the next 5 years because of them. No chapter 7 now chapter 13. I really wish I would have gone with someone else. Run from this place FAST! ****** reviews look paid for. Go check out the Yelp reviews and every other website I did not. I can't wait to be done with them.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/15/2023

We genuinely regret that we were unable to achieve the desired outcome of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy for our client. However, our commitment to honesty and transparency throughout the process led us to advise him accurately of his eligibility for filing Chapter 7.   Thus, rather than filing his case anyway and having bankruptcy on his credit, no discharge of the debt, and a total loss on the attorney fees and costs paid.  We refunded one third of the money collected, which can be applied towards the upfront retainer to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy with another law firm.

However, we think it is important to address some of the specific allegations below.

    Eligibility for Chapter 7:
At the time the debtor retained the firm he qualified for Chapter 7 bankruptcy based on his financial circumstances at that time. Our team evaluated his situation thoroughly and provided an appropriate course of action.

    Communication Frequency:
We understand that he felt the communication was infrequent, but it's essential to note that your case was on a 6-month payment plan. As part of this arrangement, we scheduled monthly updates to ensure you were kept informed about the progress of your case.

    Welcome Packet and Document Requirements:
Upon his retention of our services, we provided him with a detailed Welcome Packet and Retainer Agreement that clearly listed all necessary documents and explained the bankruptcy process in detail. We ensured that he signed off on this documentation, indicating his understanding of the process.

    Delay in Filing:
The delay in filing the bankruptcy case was due to a change in his financial circumstances. After he received a raise from his employer, he no longer qualified for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. This change necessitated a reevaluation of his eligibility, which we promptly communicated to him when we received the information.

    Retainer Agreement and Income Thresholds:
Paragraph 6 of his retainer agreement explicitly states that the retainer is subject to change if his income changes after retention. The income thresholds for qualification were clearly outlined in that agreement.

    Involvement of Multiple Staff Members:
Throughout the process, he interacted with various staff members, including paralegals and attorneys, to ensure the collection of required documents and proper petition drafting. When it was determined that he no longer qualified, his case was escalated to a more senior attorney for verification.

    ****** Reviews:
We take our reputation seriously and value genuine feedback from our clients. We do not pay for reviews, and ****** has stringent algorithms to track and verify the authenticity of reviews.
