Hello and thank you for your help. I had also reached out directly to Active. They have agreed to refund my recent $99.95 charge. But they will not go back to previous years. We still do not know what we signed up for nor did we get any reminders of any automatic renewal charges. This is typical practice for companies like this. I will update this once I get the refund. This company, Active Network, is a payee company for various athletic endeavors. A dance studio near me uses Active for their pay service for their tuition. I signed up for dance classes for my child and spent $500 through the website. A month later, I get charged an additional $99.95 by Active Network for some membership I didn't want and didn't ask for and certainly did not see I'd be charged $99.95 for. If you ****** the charge, which popped up on my statement as ACT*AADV, a bunch of complaints have been made online about this business and this charge in particular. In fact, this practice is so nefarious, there are several avenues you can complain about it and request a refund on the company's sight. They are CLEARLY just hoping the consumer wont notice the charge for their own enrichment. Truly disgusting.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
They still have yet to refund me the $99.95 charge I never authorized and they have yet to cancel this membership I didn't want in the first place. Overnight they emailed me asking if I was sure I wanted this cancelled. Then they sent a follow up email thats a total fabrication, saying Thank you for giving the membership another shot!" I was asleep, I never consented to " another shot" let alone a membership in the first place. 01/06/25 and 01/08/2024 were when I was charged $99.95 for a renewal fee for a membership that I never knew of. After research, I find out it was in the fine print of a rocknroll race. Never once did I receive an email from their business informing me of my membership. For some reason I was signed up for a "Trial Membership". Perhaps I forgot to uncheck/check a box or something when signing my son up for a camp. They are a complete run around outfit.I tried to cancel this membership online but had difficulty with the merchant's site. I contacted them on the EXACT DAY that they charged my credit card stating the trial period was over. I requested it cancelled, my credit card information removed AND a full refund. I received an automated message days later asking if I am sure I want to cancel giving me very little time to respond before they said I must want to keep the membership. I contacted again and said I wanted cancelled. Their business 1. does not take direct phone calls - they have a recording tell you to email them. 2. has a site that does not let me delete store credit card information, and 3. they take long periods of time to response.Business Response

A few years ago I signed my daughters up for learn to skate and the online program they used tricked you into a free trial of Active Advantage. It took your Credit Card info and set us up for auto renewal WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION! We noticed that this fall sent an email and they only refunded us for one year. WE CANCELLED OUR MEMBERSHIP AND AUTO RENEWAL. That is why I was just surprised to discover that I was just charged AGAIN for auto renewal WITHOUT my permission! I want my money back for the years I was TRICKED AND I WANT THIS AUTO RENEWAL TO STOP!Business Response

See the yellow highlighted charge in the attached bank statement. As I found out by doing a ****** search, this is "Active Advantage" from **********************. I never signed up for this service and never used it. This company goes to great effort to hide its identity and avoid ways to contact it (e.g., no phone number or even direct email address, just an email form on its website). On 12/18/2024 ACT*ADV attempted to charge my card for $99.95 and I declined it. They made a second attempt on 12/22/24 and it went through. This is a service that I did not knowingly sign up for. I have registered for 3 events that (apparently) used ACT*ADV. The most recent event (Rock and Roll San Antonio) seems to be the event that is associated with this charge. I have been to the website and my card is not on file, so there is no way to remove it. I have tried to contact a phone number (found on my banking app in the transaction that went through) (there is no phone number listed anywhere on the website, that I can find), that sent me to another phone number specifically related to having a charge on the card. That message on the phone number states to send an email. I have previously sent an email to the company and am waiting to hear back from them.Business Response

The reply message consisted of a link provided on Active Advantage website directing the user to the same "contact is about your issue" that is already there. Nothing new.
