I looked at my credit card statement and a charge of $99.95 I didnt recognize. Without my permission- I was signed up for a "Trial Membership" on 3/14/25. I did not authorize nor sign up for any type of trial with this company. I still dont know how they obtained my credit card information. I searched online, called two different phone numbers but unable to speak with anyone to get a refund - they dont take direct calls - the only option is they give an email for you to request a refund and then once you receive the email you have to respond that you want assistance. They are a complete run around. I contacted them on the same day that they charged my credit card and getting a run around. This business is a complete fraud. During registration for an event, Active signed me up for a 30-day trial of its paid membership, which culminates in a fee that is automatically charged to the credit card I used when registering for the event. I did not choose to sign up for the membership trial and see now that this is automatically selected in an obscure part of the registration form. Research reveals years of similar complaints and shows Active has been engaged in this unethical and deceptive practice for years. I requested a cancellation of my membership and will be pursuing legal action if it is not honored. This report is intended as a warning to others about Actives registration scam.Business Response

Hi I woke up to a charge on my card for $99.95 and it says from Active network active advantage. I have never even heard of you guys until I realize that my daughter did swim at a community center a couple months ago, but I never authorized a membership with you guys. Not sure why Im being charge $99.95 for a membership not Involved in for enrolling my daughter in a two week swim program At our local community center. Based on the reviews this has happened to multiple people even one person said their credit card company flagged it as fraud.Business Response

This company started charging me in 2020 WITHOUT my consent.. I just noticed a new ***** charge... I will dispute this charge but will NOT stop until I am reimbursed for the 4 years of WIRE FRAUD. This is a ************** If I don't get reimbursed I will make it my life's work to make this company held RESPONSIBLE for wire fraud... Its not about the money but all the people this company scams on a daily basis... I paid for a pavilion on 2/2 for my wedding and at the same time was seemingly signed up for an Active membership trial. On 3/4 I was charged $99.95 to my credit card from this company claiming I had chosen to pay for a yearly subscription. This is incorrect because all I agreed to pay for, was my wedding venue. Upon actually going to their website, there is no place to edit my card information that they clearly have stored somewhere in their system. I also did digging online to see that they do this scam to other people as a class action was filed in 2022, but seemingly still are in business.Business Response

I was just notified by my bank that a charge of $99.95 was charged to my card from *******. I've never heard of, nor do I know what this charge is for.
