We had a flight that we purchased in April 2021 that took place end of Jan2022 - beginning of February 2022. On the flight back from ****** they cancelled the return flight with no good return option. We rebooked on a flight that ended up being delayed and connecting flight was impossible to connect to. We ended up on a $800+ flight with Delta ( they rescued us ) and were on hold with American for hours with no one who answered. Called American after Delta flight and no one got back to us on credit etc. today sept 4th we received a flight credit but it expires end of this month. So we have less that 30 days to book something that has to take place this year!!! In chat,the rep could not confirm the *** of credit, where we could go etc. We booked a trip already and it could not be applied because we already paid for that trip. Seems this flight credit is impossible to use and they are not making an already terrible experience any better. This credit seems to not able to be used. The chat rep said we would have to attempt to book online, place the trip on hold then call in to complete with a rep and hope it covers it. Wow , what terrible customer serve. I also asked for someone to call me and thats also impossible because they cant make outbound calls.American Airlines

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER AND I THOUGHT FRONTIER SUCKED AND THEY ARE THE WORST! I am REPORTING THEM TO A LAWYER AND WAS TREATED POORLY WITH A DISABILITY! Reporting them to corporate as well as ****** AND YELP! I am seeking a lawyer due to my experience! Unacceptable and unprofessional. Im over it and WILL NOT BE Traveling with them EVER AND NEVER AGAIN! FULL OF IT AND AGAIN I WILL BE GETTING A LAWYER! Amazing how people are employed by these HUGE BILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES AND THEY HAVE THE WORST PEOPLE WORKING! If u DONT LIKE WORKING FOR THE PROPLE INDUSTRY! Leave!!!American Airlines

Let me tell you American Airlines plays dirty. 1st my flight from *** to *** on 8/19/22 was literally running late by 20 mins (and we werent told why) flight attendants were rude as well. We landed in CLT and sat on the runway for another 15mins before pulling up to a gate. my connect flight for *** was on the full opposite side of the airport ( they had no train so I had run across the airport) Im running up to my gate and the guy closes the door. (Me and about 10 other people were running up at the same time. I asked if he was told our flight was late. He said he waited for 5mins and he was off so go to customer service before walking away (the guy wasnt even wearing a name tag) I proceeded to walk to customer service where I was assisted by ************** asked her where the lack of communication with my flight landing and me needing extra time to get across the airport. Mind you I had called my parents to assist me the the Advantage Member ID. My dad then asked to speak to ******. She wasnt having that. Was rude and refused to talk with him. They compensated my hotel and taxi was set back up to fly out the next day. Then coming home from *** to *** I get to *** we have a couple of delays, we finally board the plane and 2.5 hrs later after being on the run way that whole time the ***** advised us that they have timed out and will have to go back to the gate. When I get off the flight they advised us that they are not compensating us for the delay due to weather! They sent us to customer service which was closed then rerouted us to another gate for assistance. A manager I think his name was ***** was rude in explaining the situation. Very disrespectful. I then was rebooked a flight for the next day. I had to pay out of pocket for my hotel and Uber to get there. Then food twice because my flight was delayed and gate moved multiple times I finally made it home on 8/21 late at night. I missed an extra day of work. In November 2021, I made travel plans, via my travel agent, for a trip to ***********. Travel dates were August 9, 2022 through August 14, 2022. Booking early yields you lower prices. Working in the travel industry enables me to be very knowledgeable about yield management. On the evening of August 8, 2022, I was notified my flight had been canceled. As a possible resolution, I was offered to travel on August 10, 2022. This wasn't an opti9n because we had birthday festivities planned. Plus I would had accommodations booked. My travel agent was able to rebook us on Delta, but at an additional cost because we were booking within 12 hours of departure. The additional costs I incurred were $643 and I didn't have the opportunity to upgrade my seats, due to the close in booking, so we had to sit in the very back of the plane on my Delta flights.I contacted AA requesting I get refunded for the additional costs incurred because it wasn't canceled due to weather. The response I received from AA was **** miles and give us another chance. Really???? I responded this was unacceptable. I have not received a response to my response. Overall, this is poor customer service. Where is the incentive for me to fly with AA again when the customer service provided is poor.? I also failed to mention, I had paid $538 to upgrade my seats on my AA flights. You would think this would have been automatically refunded to me. No....I had to submit a request to have it refunded. Just poor customer service. I will be writing the *** of AA and filing a complaint with ***. Things will happen that are beyond a company's control. However, how you handle the situation andb take ownership of reliability is crucial for customer retention.American Airlines

We had our flight canceled 1 hour before flight time due to weather then the rebook wasnt available till 24 hours later no food or accommodations offered because it was a weather issue according to them. ************************************************************************************************************************* anything offered mind u Im pregnant with two little kids and now missed our connection flight rescheduled for the next morning. No meal voucher and ended up with a hotel far away after using their suggestions, no bags, no car seats for my kids. Next connector flight was delayed over 3 hours no voucher again for food then we r ready to board and the cabin was too hot so they had to cool the plane before allowing anyone to board again a delay. Horrible airline and customer service is lacking. Took my family of 4 over 48 hours to get home. On the way to our destination my husband was delayed for a maintenance issue missed his layover didnt make it till 14 hours later.American Airlines

Cancelled flights, delayed, rebook, calling 800 number, using the app, no Attendants, Automatically changing flights for next day was not acceptable! App wipes all data out right in the middle of traveling. What should have been 8 hrs up and back took 14 hrs up and 36 hrs back. Slept in Airport! This is just poor management!!! You need a Human at Airport for people to go talk too!!! When a group pays $$,$$$.00 on a vacation fishing for Salmon in ****** and comes back with 150 pounds of Salmon that has to be in freezer within 24 hrs well it was still cold so I think we saved it getting into freezer at 36 hrs. American Airlines you have to do better getting people to and from on time!!American Airlines

The worst experience ever, on 8/22/2022 I boarded flight **** from *** to ********* ** for a connected flight to ********** **. In ******** american airlines kept ** on the run way for over a hour before departure. This caused me to missed my connecting flight in ********* ** to ********** **. I was flying to ********** ************** for a wedding for my only brother that was getting married. When I arrived at ********* I was told my next flight would be at 4pm because my other flight had left. I told them my brother weddings start at 1:30pm in ********** **. I ask could they pay for a rental car so I can try to make the wedding, I was told no, at that point I requested for a earlier ticket to fly back to *** ***. I missed my only brother wedding that I was flying down and returning to ******** the same day. This was devastating leaving me and my family in tears. I reached out to american airlines and ask for a full refund for my expenses.American Airlines

By far the worst Airline Ive traveled with my flight boarded at 3:05 and didnt leave the strip until 4:38 we sat in the hot A*** plane for over an hour the piolet was Nasty and when I rang the **** for Assistance a flight attendant came over the Head and Announces to not ring the **** unless its an emergency.. To mind you as I said the plane was still on the ground from the time of looking the doors at 3:40 until the flight departed at 4:40 i which was supposed to depart at 3:50 I arrived at my destination a hour plus later than expected was not able to pick up my rental car or check In my room for my lay over. I absolutely hate this Airline and wouldnt recommend it to anyone. After explaining Im asthmatic and couldnt breath no air was cut on either it just very horrible and for the price I payed to travel with this business they shouldnt treat people that way. But they will never get another Cent out of my family even if they have away 1$ flights shame on you AA you guys ****American Airlines

Horrible ***************** They cancelled our Friday morning flight with notification in the middle of the night via email. We called first thing in the morning to reschedule with robot notification of an 8 hour wait for a customer service ******** were forced to drive to the nearest airport to talk to a representative at the counter who simply stated there is nothing she can do about it and they have no flights until Saturday night. She looked in her computer for about 45 seconds and said "nope, no flights available, sorry. We were finally able to fly out with Jetblue after missing 24 hours of our 48 hour weekend getaway. On the way home, 5 hour delays in the airport. I will never attempt to fly American Airlines again.American Airlines

I am currently waiting on a plane trying to get to ********* (Flight 436) and I have been sitting at the gate for over 2 hours. We're in *****, ** and it's over 90 degrees outside at least that inside this toaster oven. American Airlines knew there was a maintenance issue before we boarded and they choose to load ** anyway. We have sat at the gate for so long they had to call a Code Red due to a medical emergency. It looked to me **** a heat stroke when they rolled the gentleman by me. Instead of letting ** sit in the airport terminal so we had the luxury of real air-conditioning they placed ** in the oven for over two hours. When is enough, enough? Airlines don't have to compensate anyone for their lost time, effected health or any other inconveniences. ******* Airlines is like almost all other airlines in not caring about their customers and its pathetic!!!American Airlines
