Pushy salesman came to our house and scammed us. Was told I could get a one time service for $79 and can cancel anytime after that. I agreed to get him off of our porch and canceled the following day after our first service. Now 3 or so months later a lady came and started spraying and doing her service. I called and was told I never called the first time so my service was never cancelled. Was told I had to pay $160 fee for early contract cancellation. This whole company is a scam and I will not be paying the absurd fee.Moxie Pest Control, LP

I am so sorry that you had a negative experience with our company. We try to be as transparent as possible with our 1 page service agreement. I do see that we emailed the agreement the day before the service for viewing. Our rep is correct, you can cancel anytime and not complete the remaining services, we just ask the discount back.We don't have any notes in the office of where you had requested to cancel services the day after service, but if you have something like a text, or an email or something that shows this we would happily refund the $160 back to you.Review fromRobert H

Truly Dishonest, Deceptive and Ineffective Pest Control. Worst company ever dealt with. A few months ago, their salesperson came door knocking and said theyre running a promotion in the neighborhood, a discounted rate of $99 ( from $250) just to try them out. I thought for $99 to try out, why not. The salesperson started entering my information into his iPad and thats when he said each quarterly service will be $149. Thats when I realized hes entering me into an annual contract. I didnt want to enter into an annual contract. He said I can cancel at anytime. I asked again that I can cancel at anytime? He said Yes I can cancel at anytime. I signed and theres a 3-day period to review the contract which I did review. I specifically looked up the termination section which has subsections of customers and Joshuas termination. Customers section stated that 30-day written notice is required. I should have alerted myself back then that the salesperson lied. But I continued with their services thinking 30-day written notice is no big deal. To our big disappointment, after their treatments, we have more insects in our yards this year than we had ever before. I wrote them to cancel the service and to my unfortunate surprise, they said theres an early termination fee of $151 thats equivalent to the discounted portion of the first treatment. I went back and looked again at the contract, and way underneath the termination section, theres further a subsection of termination fee which I missed during my first review. They simply just went ahead and charged my credit card for the $151 termination fee. I spoke with an account manager by the name of ***** to no avail. I explained the situation to her, but shes very rude and insisted that I had signed the contract. My mistake was that I missed the termination fee hidden in the fine print and I did sign the contract. A $400 mistake for two ineffective insect control treatments.Moxie Pest Control, LP

****** I am so sorry that you had a negative experience with our company. Please know that it is not our intention to make it difficult to understand what we are trying to do which is why our service agreement is about a page long to read. We also highlight specific areas in bold to make it stand out. Pest control is a process and you are warrantied for free in between services. Rain often causes an increase in activity as bugs will run away and seek harborage around the home. We would be happy to reactivate the account and refund the discount that was taken and continue services with you.Review fromMatthew W

1 starOn July 22, 2022, Moxie Pest Control charged my bank account in the amount of $350.00 for termite services on my Sentricon bait stations which I believe were not provided. Moxie provided an email receipt wherein the technician claimed to have "checked the condition of each unit then opened each unit to inspect each bait stick for signs of previous and current activity" on July 22, 2022. Though I was not home at the time to witness the services being performed, I have photographic evidence of the contrary showing termite bait stations that were undisturbed and overgrown with grass. After calling Moxie's *************************** and citing my observations while offering to provide documentation, my request for a refund was denied. After the representative consulted a supervisor, the only consolation I was offered was a $100 partial refund and was told that their dispatch would send out a "more qualified technician" to remedy this issue. I declined the partial refund, as I felt that the initial transaction was based on deceit. All future work and both service contracts I had with Moxie Pest Control (termite & pest control) were cancelled during this call. No further efforts were made by Moxie to remedy this situation. Be careful with Moxie and keep a watchful eye on services performed.Review fromCriag K

Gave them a chance with 2 applications & saw no improvement in ants in several areas of my home. Also noticed box elder and stink bugs coming as usual this fall. Rose bushes look terrible since I stopped my application of aphid prevention with Moxie taking care of it Called to cancel service & was charged $200 for early cancellation of contract. I guess failure to actually controlling pests is probably also not I the contact if you read the fine print. Switched to a company that is licensed to do pet-friendly granular applications around the house + some of the more limited preventions done by Moxie. Same price but more services and less frequent applications. Win win. Totally worth $200 to get rid of Moxie Pest control. Id give zero stars if I could.Moxie Pest Control, LP

*****, I am so sorry that you had a poor experience with our company. The idea behind our treatments is to be able to warranty our services for free. Pest Control is a process that can require multiple treatments to take care of your problem, which is why we warranty our services. If your home has ****** ants with multiple colonies compared to your neighbor who as 500 ants, we are going to need to see you more often.I sincerely hope that you find success in ridding your home of bugs and if something changes we wouldn't hesitate to have you back in the future.Review fromLatoya W

1 starConstantly after receiving non work related calls from a account manager Julian T*****, I kept getting surgery's and I mention I had not received any calls regarding my service. Moxie should do better with who they tend to hire considering their employees are a representation of them. There was always a bother scenario when actually speaking to the client he stated he sincerely apologize and stated he was beyond tired and over worked. I have chosen to throughly search to find a company who can serve my pest control nerds professionally. I have always had movie provide exceptional service until about 3 months ago and now I rather no longer continue to do business with the company as a whole!Review fromRon S

Recently asked that they discontinue service. As a result of the ask we got several phone calls but still no cancelation of service. Talked to customer service then "THE manager" but nothing happened. Emailed the business through the customer portal asking that they cancel and yet again several calls but no cancelation of service. Last email sent requested that they cancel the service, provide a refund for the monthly billing of services not completed to date and that they respond to the email in writing not another phone call. Still no response and still no refund. This is not a company you can trust. They are willing to sign you up during a mass neighborhood blitz with discounts and then they disappear when there is a problem. Oh and to top it off we still have pest so even the chemicals are of poor quality.Moxie Pest Control, LP

***, I apologize that you feel we are untrustworthy. Please know that it is our policy to attempt to contact you when you wish to cancel your services, especially if you are still seeing bugs. We warranty our services for free and it can be a process especially with ants. For instance, if you are dealing with odorous house ants, they release a pheromone when crushed that will cause them to bud and make your situation far worse. This is why we warranty the services for free. To say that our products are poor quality is uninformed. You sent us an email on 8/8/22 saying that you were questioning the service as you couldn't see the granules and asked us if we can track our field people. (Which we can). You also mentioned this was the reason you let the previous company go. Later in the day before we could respond, you sent a second email wanting to cancel everything. There was a disconnected call when both parties tried to speak on the phone which is unfortunate. On 8/17/22 **** sends a text and email stating he would cancel the account at the end of the month if both parties couldn't connect. Later that day both parties did get in contact and **** cancelled the account out. You are correct we owe back some monthly billing. 1 payment of $43 and 1 payment on $39.67. That refund has been submitted today 8/25.With whatever company you wish to go with in the future, I heavily suggest you give the company a chance to give a free service if you ever see bugs crop up, especially in the summer which is the heaviest time of year for activity. Pest control is a process, and I fear you are going to cancel a 3rd company if you continue this way. Lastly, to say we disappear when there is a problem is simply not true. Aside from the cancellation request, where you are upset that you contacted you too much rather than not enough, you requested a warranty service on 9/6/21 where we responded the same day to schedule something a couple days later. Please wait 2-4 business for the refunds to appear. I wish you the best of luck with whichever company you try in the future.Review fromchris c

Sales gal first off lied that my neighbor signed up, he was moving in 2 weeks, he did not start a contract. Very high pressure. Wanted to cancel but was told I would have to pay $150, that is how they get people to stay by having this bs clause. IF they were good, would not need it. Felt scammed and not good about the company. Said the first service had a huge discount, bunch of bs there was no extra work the first time around. I feel like I need a shower now just talking about them.Moxie Pest Control, LP

Our rep spoke to this customer on 5/11/2022. After that conversation our rep emailed the service agreement to ************************ the very same day just before 1PM. It is shown that the email has been opened 4 times since being sent. We also texted the phone number on file "************" with a link to the service agreement for the customer to view as well. Three days later, the initial service is performed (5/14/22). The very first paragraph of our short agreement states that it's for 12 months and speaks about the $150 being owed back before the year is up. We feel that the customer had multiple days to call us back if they didn't want the service anymore. On 8/19/22 we did speak and ended up lowering the quarterly price down from $139 to $119 a service for them. We also put them into our call to schedule system so we will communicate with them before we visit the property. Ms agreed and wanted it noted that she doesn't want to renew.Review fromAriel T.

Moxie did a horrific job serving my house. They want to charge me for services that were never done and then claimed to come back as a warranty service and still did a horrible job. Pictures were sent via ******** and nothing has been done yet they are still trying to charge me. Would not recommend as there are plenty of pest control services in this area that do a great job.Moxie Pest Control, LP

Hi *****, I am sorry we were not able to take care of your spider problem. Any infestation sometimes requires services spaced ***** days apart, especially since spiders don't have as many spiracles as other pests. If these extra treatments are needed to solve a problem - we provide them at no additional cost, they are covered by our warranty as you have been paying for your regular maintenance services. We would still love to take care of your home and I believe we could solve your spider problem if able to follow our treatment plans without interruption. Please call our office if that is something you are interested in. You received a discount on you Initial Flush-out Service in exchange for agreeing to 4 maintenance services, with the condition that if you cancelled your maintenance services we would require you to pay the full price for that initial treatment. You can view your signed service agreement on our customer portal.Review fromJill M

1 starFirst of all I have a sign posted next to my doorbell that says, "NO SOLICITING" and a sales rep from this company caught me off guard and hooked me into a contract to take care of problems with insect pest home invasion and to top it off to treat for mosquitos was an extra fee. He also stated that if I agreed to 1 treatment to the tune of $149.00 plus $99.00 to treat mosquitos, that I could opt out of the contract at anytime. When I realized the treatments they performed DID NOT WORK after a couple of attempts, as I still saw spiders and was bit by mosquitos, I didn't want to pay for anymore treatments. After a manager called me yesterday, I explained I didn't want to continue services, he stated that I would have to pay a fee. I discovered yesterday that they are charging my credit card for an "EARLY CANCELLATION FEE" of $149.00. I have received absolutely no good customer service from this company. I would appreciate if they would reverse this charge because I was totally mislead:(Review fromKristen M.

SCAM!!! High pressure sales tactics. Hidden contract. Extremely rude and condescending staff once you have an issue. They caught me outside while hosting an event for my child who was home for a couple days from the military. I said no, no, NO but he wouldnt leave!! I wanted to get back to my family and not cause a scene so I stupidly agreed to this $99 trial service as it was explained to me and signed my name on a tablet for them to be on my property. It was not a trial! It was a 12 month contract with early cancellation fees! I didnt realize this until they started sending messages about coming back and I told them no thanks. So I decided to just try it out and see since I was locked in. The second person that came out didnt even do MY house. I watched my security camera and it was the house next door! They walk around your house with a toilet brush on an extension pole and bounce it off the soffit and then dump some pesticide on a small patch of your lawn. If they spray inside expect a huge mess and spray on your carpets, furniture, everywhere. They honestly just make the wasps mad and then they attack for several days before moving to a spot 10 foot away from their first home. This is a total scam from what Ive witnessed. Now Ive been charged a $170 cancellation fee. Im in almost $500 for a pesticide dump in my house, one toilet brush to the soffit, and about 25 ft of yard treated, and one treatment to the house next door! If Joshs comes to you, dont answer the door! If you call them thats your choice, but I will run if I ever see one of their trucks again. Im so disgusted with the way this was handled. I didnt even request the service and am so mad I didnt stick to my gut and tell him to get off my property. If you have to ******* people to make money then be ready to fail miserably in the end as a successful company. Id give zero stars if I could. Please read all the other reviews saying these same things, wish I would have thats for sure!!Moxie Pest Control, LP

Our rep spoke to this customer on 4/27/22. After that conversation our rep emailed the service agreement to ************************** the very same day around 4PM. It is shown that the email has been opened 5 times since being sent.We also texted the phone number on file "**************" with a link to the service agreement for the customer to view as well. Lastly, we emailed a layout of what occurred on the first service, as well as letting the customer know there's a portal to view the agreement, service detail, or to update any sort of payment information online. On 5/13/22 we left a voicemail for a free termite inspection On 6/2/22 we left a voicemail for a free termite inspection On 6/21/22 we send notifications that we are servicing the property again, service the property, and then send a receipt of payment for the service. On 7/21/22 the customer sends a message stating they aren't interested in the service anymore and mentions increased wasp activity saying that it's worse and they are more aggressive. Later that day at around 4pm we leave a voicemail offering to come back out to service for free since they had a persistent pest issue. No response from the customer. On 8/5/22 We attempt to call again and leave a voicemail explaining warranty services, also explaining taking the initial discount back if we don't hear from the customer. On 8/9/22 We hadn't received any correspondence from the customer and charged back the discount that was given on the 1st service in accordance with the service agreement. On 8/10/22 Customer calls back asking why we charged the card on 8/9. Ms claims that we sprayed all over the home and all over her carpet inside the house and she wasn't ok with it. We offered to come out and fix things with a warranty service and the customer says that they no longer live at the location.
