I received what seems to be a fake letter attempting to claim that I did a payday loan and that they are going to take the matter to court and put my family in court.Business Response

I too received a letter threatening legal action for a payday installemt loan I supposedly made (never have and never heard of this company before) with EZMONEY AKA EZCORP and in other complaints I've read your company has said contact us and THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT YOU!!! so either your company is a complete sham and you are trying to extort money from people or there is someone else posing as using YOUR company to carry out nefarious acts.Business Response

Today on 10/22/24, I received a call from ************** stating they were the EZCorp company and that I had an outstanding loan with them from 2012. I have never gotten a loan from a company with this name or anything close to this name. Secondly, why call someone 12 years later to say they still owe you money for a loan? They said they would have to garnish my account due to this nonpayment of $3000. I told them to go right ahead and do so and that i would see them in court regarding this and that they would have to provide PROOF of this loan in court and after that, she hung up on me. These people are trying to scare others into falling for their scams in order to fraudulently get money from people. They need to be found and charged accordingly for their actions. I'm reporting this because they need to be held accountable and to make people aware of this scam.Business Response

Im getting calls from *** and Associates claiming that they are calling about a loan made to Ezmoney, in which I have never done business with this company. And Im seeing also other changes complained on here regarding the same companies, that its fraud.Business Response

10/16/24 I received a letter from greystone legal group in ****** ******** stating that I owe money for a delinquent collection due 10/18/24 and that they are the collection agency for EZ MONEY aka EzCorp. I called and spoke to a woman named **** she had all of my personal information and said I owed only and that this is the 2nd notice which I never got a 1st. I asked her to confirm the address when I looked it up it is to the post office and she confirmed the post office address was correct I asked for a p.o. box address and couldn't verify that outside of the address. On the ***** number I asked her the name of the collection company she worked for and couldn't tell me. So I called my credit bureaus they had listed for ********** and they searched the companies mentioned in the letter and the date of transaction from the so called collection agency and they said it wasn't existing and that they can only go back a year but mailed me all proof, I called the bank that **** mentioned the bank couldn't even pull up the account because theres no proof and the account i had was closed over 15 years ago.This is a scam and I'm going to the police and/ or attorney and ******** about this letter. I ******* the company and it doesn't come up. The bank told me when they send you to collections they use fortune 500 agencies ********** said they don't keep a list of third party credit collectors you have to look them up and if you go to collections it gets legally reported to all 3 credit bureausof the federalgovernment. These people have all of my personal information etc. And it's frustrating and scary someone used my identity for theft purposes and framing me for it and now this woman says I owe money and they'll lower the payment etc. Please track these people for fraud.Business Response

I have filed a police report with local law enforcement with the following report number: #20241018172703. I have also notified the credit bureaus and froze all accounts and changed my personal information as well. I received a letter stating I owe $1450.27 EZMONEY (subsidiary of EZCORP) I dont know who these people are never heard of them. Theres a lawsuit and civil complaint and that this the 2nd notice when I never received a first notice. If I dont pay that I will be served with papers to appear in court and they will subpoena my parents. Ive called the number in the letter and no answer or anything.Business Response

As of today, I have received 2 letters from quest legal group. The first is a notification of lawsuit, claiming I took out a loan with ezmoney and never paid it back. I have never heard of this company, I never took out a payday loan ever, and it is no where to be found on my credit report going back years. They somehow obtained my ssn, address, parents names, and a previous employer and threatened me with a lawsuit for not paying this in full ($1,054.67). Today, I received a letter suggesting a pending out of court settlement. This letter also mentions that not only did I default on this loan, but committed fraud as my initial loan payment was returned unpaid (***) by my bank (they do not name the bank). They offered a reduced settlement ($395.00) that I must pay by October 18th before credit and legal implications occur. I called the number provided. 0 for a representative is an invalid entry. Pressing 1 to speak to someone about a letter received goes to an answering machine. Even the website looks fake. From what I have found, this business has already faced legal repercussions for trying to scam people out of money and here they are attempting it once more. I want to not only be left alone by these people, but I want it investigated how they obtained my information, especially my ssn, and have them shut down. I may not fall victim to their intimidating letters, but someone might.Business Response

I received a letter from quest legal group about owing money to Ezmoney on the amount of ******** they are liars, **** never open or had an account with **************.. the letter seem to be scam, it states I will be taken to court if I don't pay, and a civil judgement which result in wage garnishment or lien against my personal property or bank account. it also involved my family members saying they will be subpoena to testify against me in court.. they have violated my rights and also they got some of my personal information that I never gave them.Business Response

I asked for assistance in buying a used guitar hanging on display the sales person said they have layaway and needed a cash deposit. He assured me it is an electric guitar. Yet after looking online the guitar was actually a bass guitar. I contacted them in person several times that they listed the item as a guitar. Their excuse is yes, it's a guitar. I said would you sell me a bass violin then say it's a violin?; it's 6;feet tall a violin 1 foot. I'd like my money refunded to me. Unbelievable how businesses keep doing this.
