This business has previously been cited and fined for trying to fraudulently collect money for people who have never done business with them. I recently received a collection notice regarding a loan that was never made to me (I've never done business with them); the language used was exactly the same as has been reported from other people, and threats were made regarding credit implications and legal implications. Additionally, they have never previously contacted me, although the letter references "second notice" as a means to scare recipients.This business and the associated "lender" EZMoney, need to be shut down immediately.Business Response

I received a letter in the mail on behalf of ezcorp from ***************** stating it is a second notice (never got the first). Says they intend to file a lawsuit against me if I dont pay almost $850 of which I never took out. The notice is extremely concerning since it has my current address, known family names, and my credit score on the letter as well (why have that). I believe this to be fraud and someone using personal information on this companies behalf to defraud the public and me with this threatening behavior and letter. I believe this to be a violation of my rights in their attempts at a debt collection that I never opened.Business Response

Getting harassed by a company that claims they are collecting on a debt for Eazy Money - a company I have NEVER done business with. I even searched all of my files (which I am great at keeping) and emails- Never done business with these ppl. One, the **** sound like underage foreigners and not legit- Would not verify any info, gave some inflated amount that I supposedly owe, over 2500, which is a lie. I have never borrowed any such amount from anyone ever!then asked for the dba name as EZmoney/Easy money is unfamiliar to me, still no answers. Threatened garnishment, I asked for written proof of debt which is the law, they hung up on me. Called back got another *** asked for same and she said you already spoke to someone and released call. When I called a third time, just rings and rings and conveniently the vm box is full lol. I do not owe them anything nor will they validate any supposed debt, which is required by law. They would only identify that they are working in lockstep and on the behalf of EZMoney(EasyMoney)/EZ Crop. They would not share any further info, however, they called from ************. When I googled the number/name of entity after getting limited info- I found numerous horror stories mimicking my own referencing some company. I received a letter from Viking Legal services stating I owe EzCorp money from a payday loan I do not ever remember taking out. It states I must pay them by September 6 or I will be taken to court. It seems like a scam.Business Response

I visited EZ Pawn located at ************* on or about July 30th 2024 to obtain a small loan to get me thru to my next payday. I used my Uniden SDS 100 ************** scanner as collateral. The scanner itself costs $649.99, and my scanner had an after-market antenna ($39.99) and it had been professionally programmed by Uniden. (Additional $100). I only asked for a $200 loan which they agreed to. On August 16th, 2024, I returned to pick up my scanner. I paid the loan off in full and waited over a hour before they came out and told me they lost it? They had given me a receipt upon paying the loan off and I asked for a copy of my original **** ticket which they would not give me. Before I left on the 16th, I insisted the employee sign the back of my receipt and state I did not receive my property on this date, which they did and I have said receipt. I was told I would have to wait until Monday to speak with manager. On Monday 08-19-24, I returned to store to speak with manager. Upon arrival I was told she was not there. A employee called her and then told me she would have to contact corporate headquarters to see how they would handle this problem. I asked how long this would take and they would not give me an answer. All I want is my property back. If this is not possible I would like a new replacement ordered from Uniden. Also I woukd request this to be done in a timely manner, not several months from now.Business Response

On the 06/24/24, i paid my loan to Cash **** on Ft. *******. Killeen Tx. after my payment went through the manager ******* dropped my items which is jewelries . i paid $81.07. I explained to her its been paid on, she said its pending even though I explained to her the money went through to the store so I ask her if she could activate my items she claims she couldnt activate it because the cooperate office doesnt let her do activation anymore she said she will called and text the office. I waited but she said she gets no response from the office so she couldnt activate my merchandise.Her reason she give me why she dropped my merchandise i didnt make my payment on time which is impossible because if that the case when i pay it on line the payment would not go through it wouldnt be nothing there on line to pay on. I had to start new loans put some on layaway and drop a few items. I still out $81.07 its been going on 2 months.Business Response
