I and my spouse received a call about a collections from ************. When I called them back they said they are a meditation company collecting from EX Corp and Ex Money on a payday loan from 2020. I have never taken out a payday loan. I have no idea what this is for they hung up on me 3 times trying to get detailed information. The address they have on file I have not lived at for 12 years. They have my email and ss# I have placed a lock on my credit. I asked them to email or mail documents as proof and thats one of the times they hung up.Business Response

Received a call from a document processing business stating that someone had been trying to contact me. He proved me with a phone number ************ and a file number *******. ABA mitigation company. The person who answered named ****** said she had to request my document from the document processing center. Then came back online and said she needed to verify me by my last 4 of my social. She provided those numbers. Then stated I had been verifies. She went to tell me that I was in breach incontract with a payday loan that had defaulted on April 28th, 2013. And that I owed $2440. And that this was my last chance to get this settled before their client submitted small claims because they accessed my asset and liability report and I am liable. I asked for the name of the company, phone number and if they had signed documents to provide me. ****** said they don't have that and it would be disclosed during discovery if I choose to go to court. She offered me a settlement which I denied and again asked if they could proved me with further information. She stated no not even a contact number for the company. I asked why they waited ********************** and why it's not showing in my credit report. Also my number had not changed in 20 years and I never received a call. She stated they tried 3 times to contact me and provided 2 addresses. Is this company legit?Customer Answer

Was contacted by ez corp ez money stating I had taken out a loan. Gave which bank I was banking out but I do not remember ever taking out this loan. Threatened to have charges brought against me for theft and it would go on my record with criminal charges.Business Response

I received a call from ************ and did not answer. I received a voicemail stating that I was the respondent in a case for debt owed. That I needed to call them immediately to avoid further action. And reiterated that they EXPECTED me to call them IMMEDIATELY. I then got a call from my brother stating they called him right after demanding that he make me get in contact with them asap.I then spoke with *********************** that said she was from Surety Mediations. She said I owed a debt to EzCorp for *******. That my checking account was used as collateral. She stated 2 checks were paid out to EzCorp sometime between 2005-2015. She did not have the date the loan was signed, the amount of the checks or date the money was received from my bank. Said that if I did not pay ****** at that moment, I would be put on some check watch and my accounts would be frozen. I told her I know nothing about this loan and she stated they assumed I would remember owing a company money. She refused to give me the name of the company I owe it to. She refused to give me the attorney's contact info so I could have my attorney reach out. She was very aggressive and tried to make me feel like I was scum for not remembering a loan that I did not take out ***** years ago. She refused to give me time to talk with my bank or an attorney. She said I have to pay this amount by 4:00 est or my accounts will be frozen.They have called my brother, sister, and parents. The harassment is ridiculous and is tarnishing my reputation!Customer Answer

I do not have an account number. That is why I submitted the claim? They have been harassing me, and my family members via phone calls. I have filed this with the *** as instructed by local police and the Attorney General. I am not sure what you would like me to upload as this is a scam. On Feb 8th I have a received a call about a company EZCorp threatening to take me to court over a loan that I know nothing about from like ****************************************************************** They had my social and address and when I ask if theres any forms or anything that I can see, she put me on hold or tell me that she looking into it. So this company First step servicing **** Called me saying I owe only because I opened a bank account in 2013 to get a payday loan and then closed it when I got the money I don't remember that far back for one. Plus she could not tell me who it was for but said Ezcorp ezmoney was the third party on the loan Said if i don't pay they will take me to court. I paid 665 to settle out then called my credit card to dispute it. They have been trying to contact this company called the advisors group who took the payment. After investigating it my self it did not add up. You send me emails but I never got any paper notices. Now they are calling old jobs looking for me. I am receiving calls from a ****** subscriber stating that I have a dispute to resolve & that it is emergent that I participate. When I call the number back it is a ****** voicemail. The number left on my voicemail is supposedly a rep for ***************** named *******************. I looked up the ************ states I owe a company named EZ Money from 2014 over the amount of *******!! I do not owe any debt. I have read complaints of this being a scam. They stated they mailed two offer letters to my address which I never received. They now stated a different amount owed & that they are an acquisition company even though this debt from 2014 is not on any credit reports. I received this email for debit I owe to ex money ex loan I can settle for $385 but they will not sent proof. I received several phone calls from a debt collection company representing a payday loan who stated that I owe them some money and if I didn't pay it they would garnish my wages and take ***** I don't owe anything They wouldn't give me any info such as phone numbers for the payday loan.l when i asked for info The debt collection company told me they were handling the case for the payday loan I suppose to have taken out.
