      Not too reliable. Auto we rented was fine but it was below full. The bed of the truck had not been cleaned well. Filled the gas tank to the brim in the gas station right next door. Billed me over $29 for gas saying it was only 7/8 full when returned. I dont think another drop would have fit in that tank and it sure as heck didnt use over 2 gallons of gas to go less than 1000 feet.

      Deceptive sales tactics. They inflate the total by distracting you when they ask to initial. The screen is enlarged so it's easier for you initial. They dont tell you that what you are doing is agreeing and not declining. There are no direct numbers to the location and you must go in person to dispute. Since these locations are at airports you most like will be on a plane by then. They also email you the final receipt later after you have left. This company engages in deceptive sales tactics which put the blame on you due to legalities.

      My wife and I booked a rental for August 24, 2024 with NU to go on an anniversary trip in ********. We booked the trip through Priceline for $398.00 with 0.00 due at pickup. We were flying into ****** and had a 6pm pickup time at NU and were in line to pickup at 7pm.Finally, I was in front of a clerk close to 8pm. The clerk wanted over $700 to get me out the door. I told the clerk I had already booked with Priceline and paid the full price with my agreement with Priceline, but he claimed a number of fees were required. Being so late, I felt trapped with no other option than to agree to the fees.At first my credit card was hit with $702.56 in fees. Eventually the charge was changed to $304.12.After our trip, I complained to the company about having to pay the extra fees. They said the extra fees were not required but that since I had signed an agreement to the fees they would not refund them.I believe I was taken advantage of by the late time and me being 74 years old.Saving a few dollars turned into a huge price in my case.

      Besides a typical deposit, there were a lot of extra fees that we had to pay in addition to the already prepaid reservation, which the agent couldnt explain - just pointed to the screen stating its all in there. With a $12/day for toll coverage, I asked if there are a lot of tolls that we should consider and he said that each light charges a separate fee of $30. Maybe this is true but THERE IS ONLY ONE TOLL ROAD and one toll lane on another highway in ****** that can be easily avoided. Very deceiving practices. In addition to the toll coverage, the agent signed us up for the Prepaid Fuel tank and said there was no downside - we return the car and they fill it up at a lower price per gallon. We were sceptical at first but he assured us this was a good and convenient option. We brought the car back with 1/2 a tank of gas but got charged for the full tank. Again, the agent failed to explain the terms and reaching out to the email provided in the companys response to my original review didnt resolve any issues. Apparently, they have a flyer that says that you get charged for the full tank - I guess they expect customers to sit at the counter and read flyers to familiarize themselves with the terms vs training their agents to provide clear information during contract signing. Plus they add taxes on top of all these convenient services, which increases the final cost even more.

      I rented a car from N Car at the **************, September 2024. Reserved it and paid for it online with my debit card, which was accepted without incident.When I got to ******, I was told thered be an extra $500 hold on money in my checking account. If I had paid with a credit card, the hold would have been $300.The guy at the desk - who was entirely pleasant - said Id get the $500 back in a couple days.Four days passed, and the money had not been returned. I talked via email to 3 or 4 different people at the rental car agency, and they all said it would take 30 days for the money to be returned to **** had given the car back on time, unharmed, with gas, without any tickets.They could not or would not tell me why they needed my money for a month.Its just policy, they said.I dont understand how its legal for them to hold my money for a month.

      I booked my rental with NU via Priceline. Priceline showed a price of $569 without insurance, so I proceeded with the booking. When I went to NU Car Rental, I presented my personal car insurance, which includes liability coverage of $100k/300k. I have used the same insurance with other companies like Enterprise and Budget without any issues. However, ************* denied my insurance and required me to purchase their insurance for an additional $390. They told me that without purchasing their insurance, I would not be able to get my car or a refund since it was a non-refundable booking. Nowhere in the email or the terms and conditions was there any mention of this mandatory insurance. In the end, I had to pay $390 in order to get my vehicle. Please take action to protect customers like me from such practices.

      We went through ******* online and rented a vehicle in ****** ******** from 8/26/24 through 8/31/24. ************* was the company. We were shuttled from the *********************** to Nu Car Rental (about 15 minutes). There was a line at Nu Car Rental to pickup your vehicle. The wait was approximately 20 minutes with only 3 people helping customers. Approximately 5 offices were closed during the day at 2pm. The clerk was very rude to us. We completed the rental mid size car rental online. We had the paperwork with us. The clerk told us he could see it on his computer BUT we needed and ***....not a car. We told him at least 4 times that our rental was for a mid size car and didn't want an ***. He insisted we needed and ***. We felt pressured into the *** upgrade and we had NO choice!!! We finally signed for the *** upgrade another $150. He also tried to pressure us into adding the Express Lane, Insurance, Roadside Assistance, Them Fueling the vehicle. We were there approximately 20 more minutes with the clerk. After we received the *** and drove to our resort we noticed how bad the tires were. The front tires were ok BUT the back tires were needing replaced very low on tread. We only drove the *** to and from the resort. We were afraid we would get a flat tire if we drove the ***. It was a terrible experience!!! We will never rent a vehicle again from Nu Car Rentals!!!! We wish we would have seenp the reveiws before we booked Nu Car Rental on Expedia. We will no longer trust nor use *******. We contacted ******* when we got home to report our encounter with Nu Car Rental. They contacted Nu Car and Expedia told us we would hear from Nu Car Rental within the next 2 days. It has been 10 days and we have heard nothing from Nu Car Rental!!! Our hope is to make people aware of NuCar Rental with hopes that know one goes through what we have gone through!!!

      DO NOT RENT!!!! So Im a retired Marine with 21 years in the service. I always maintain everything Im responsible for. Had a horrible experience with Nu Car Rental, at first I thought it was one of the best experiences until a few months later when I received a bill from a collection agency. Long story short, I rented a vehicle for a few days and I returned it with no damage. On the data return and employee looked over the vehicle, took the keys, and said I was good. Four months later, I received a call from a collection agency saying they were trying to collect on a damaged windshield. After receiving all the reports, it shows that my vehicle was not inspected for a week after I returned it. Meaning it had been sitting in their lot for at least a week. Instead of Nu Car Rental contacting me to discuss the damage, zero attempts were made, and it went directly to a collection agency. I tried to contact the claims department with *************, I was told that multiple attempts were made to contact me, but when asked what the attempts were, they immediately said they could not provide any more information to me because it was now in the hands of collections. Because the damage was under $500, my insurance company would not get involved because it is less than the deductible, and I was therefore held hostage to either pay them or eventually have it put on my credit report. You may think youre saving some money like I did by using this company because of their low rates on different booking sites, however, they will get you on the backend. If I could give them a zero rating I would. If you choose to rent for them, make sure you take lots of pictures and video when you pick up the vehicle and return the vehicle.

      Nu Car is a scam! They close at 6pm and my flight arrives at 8pm so I wont be able to use this service. I immediately tried to cancel the reservation 10 mins later after finding this out. They charged me and wont refund me. They did not disclose the ridiculous hours they keep when reserving online. Do not ever use this fraudulent, dishonest and abusive company

      Rent through ********* and get the coverage they offer. Nu's tellers try to scare you into getting their insurance, and they may tell some lies that your insurance doesn't cover xyz, but just be aware of what your insurance does cover. Lines are drawn clear in the sand, there is nothing pulled out of thin air to surprise you once you rent the vehicle. Don't break the car, return it clean, and you'll be fine. I was on time with my pick up, got the car I wanted, returned it on time after giving it a $10 car wash, and got my $300 deposit back. Paying $300 less than everywhere else- despite the tellers reading from a script to get you to buy more stuff- earns them 5 stars so long as you know what you're getting into.
