I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. At the time it was received, the business's response was irrelevant as I had already taken action to resolve the issue directly with my bank.Harland Clarke continually reaches out to me to seek resolution with language specifically asking me to provide my bank account # and routing # to begin the process. Although acquiring this information may be legitimately relevant to search for my order in their system, it is not best practice as a consumer to provide these sensitive banking details over the phone or in email communication.

The checks I order come with a sheet attached that I use as a record for payment. Previously, my checks c@me in bundles of 20. This order has checks in bundles of 40. These checks (and the copies) do not tear off cleanly. I think they have been stapled too close to the glued strip that keeps the package together. They are very badly produced. I had to remove the glued strip, take out the staples that hold the pad together, and my checks are now loose in the folder. This is the opposite of convenient. I will find a different check company when its time to re-order.**** ******Business Response

We attempted to contact ******* ****** via phone but were unable to reach her or leave a voice message. Additionally, a valid email was not provided in the complaint. We would be happy to speak with ********* to address any further concerns she may have if she would kindly provide updated contact information.
However, we did locate relevant order history that confirmed there was a change since Ms. ****** last ordered. As a business courtesy, on November 20, 2024 we issued a credit for her July ************* the amount of $25.75. Per her financial institution the credit will be received by her financial institution within 2 weeks from November 20, ************************************************** ******** account. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to Ms. ******** concerns and apologize for any inconvenience she may have encountered.

On July 10, 2024 I placed a check order with Harland Checks. Our financial institution, formerly *********************** was bought out by ******** and I mistakenly (out of default mode) reordered checks through Harland Checks (using the Reorder Checks Now paper in my check book). I was able to purchase the checks and spent over $60. Shortly after, I was contacted by our local bank as they saw the charge on our account to *******************************************. The bank employee informed me that the new financial institution, ********, does not even have an account with ******************** and Harland shouldnt have even sold me the checks since *********************** closed their account with them and closed altogether. I contacted Harland Checks via their ***** number on multiple occasions and was unable to speak to a person. So I then contacted the company via their Consumer Contact Form online requesting to return the product and get a refund to which they replied and said Thank you for your email. Please contact your Financial Institution for further assistance with your request. I replied and said it is not my bank that needs to issue the refund, but rather Harland Checks. They then followed up with: Thank you for your email.Specific account/order information can not be pulled up through email for the security of the account.We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused ****** assist with your request, for personal accounts please call **************. or for business accounts **************.I proceeded once more to attempt and contact an actual person but with no luck. I emailed back and requested a call back since I had been unable to speak with an actual person and they then replied Thank you for your email.Specific account/order information can not be pulled up through email and callbacks can not be arranged for the security of the account. Now in October - I have yet to have this issue settled and a refund issued.Business Response

I ordered deposit slips from **************** Fargo via Harland Clarke, and NEVER RECEIVED either order. The service is beyond slow. When I tried to call to resolve this issue, it asked for routing number and then said to call financial institution. Well, I paid Harland Clarke for this order. This is a terrible company. We attempted to contact ******** Corlew ******* via phone and email to discuss her concerns. As of October 25, 2024, we have not received a response. Research confirmed that her order shipped from our facility without incident and has not been returned to us. The carrier has confirmed that due to the age of the order it would be considered lost in the mail. If Ms. ******* has not already done so, it would be proper to report the lost order to the financial institution to determine appropriate security measures for the account. A credit in the total amount of $44.19 for the order in question has been submitted and will be processed back to her account within two weeks. Review of the order identified that an unfortunate entry error occurred when a banker placed the order in question. They have acknowledged working with Ms. ******* to reach her desired resolution. Thank you for advising of ****** Johnsons concerns. Upon contacting Ms. ******** she placed her first check order on August 28, 2024, which never arrived. She went into a local branch and a stop payment was issued. On September 16, 2024, the bank placed a reprint with the next check range, which should take up to 7-10 business days for delivery. We apologized for the inconvenience and look forward to her continued patronage.

I placed a re-order for personal checks directly with Harland Clarke's ("**") website ("OrderMyChecks.com") on May 6th. My Order No. is: 7870 9901 9270. I was told *** for delivery of my personal checks was 5/16. ** deducted $49.49 from my checking account on 5/20 for the checks. I NEVER Received my checks. **'s automated phone-system tells me that the checks were shipped on 5/15. **'s webpage ("check-order-status" via a weblink to ***) tells me that the checks were delivered on 5/18 to "*******************" (NO Street Address given for delivery location). When I log onto ***'s website directly (not via **'s system), the *** website says the *** for delivery is 5/21 -- which contradicts the info provided by *** via the ** weblink -- and today is 5/29 which is clearly later than 5/18 and 5/21. I cannot get hold of a live person to speak with at *** nor at **. Everything is an automated system that spits out the same contradictory information without any option to speak with a live customer service agent. My financial institution tells me that they cannot get hold of ** either and are recommending we place a "Stop Payment" on the 80 checks that I ordered but never received! I want ** to refund the $49.49 to me and I Don't Plan to ever do business with ** again -- clearly they are going out of business with fewer people using paper checks, and I'll have to impose on my financial institution to print checks counter checks for me or to change check providers because ** is TERRIBLE.Business Response

Mr. *************;placed his check order on May 6,2024, with trackable delivery service. According to DHL, the package was delivered on May 18, 2024. Upon contacting Mr. ********* ************* they advised the issue has been resolved & no further action is needed by Harland Clarke. Further, we recently implemented a change with our contact center consumer phone line that ******************** would contact for inquiries and reorders. The line directs consumers whose orders fall within a recent timeframe to our digital channels (web or phone automated system) and/or his financial institution order status. My complaint, and quite a few on trust pilot, is that you can't speak to anyone about your order and there seems to be a lot of problems. Secondly, I paid for tracking on my order for checks placed on 5/8/24 and all I see is "en route from ************** to ********* and no expected date of delivery in the tracking. I received an email on 5/15/24 that my checks had shipped and still waiting as of 5/24/24. ************** and ********* are close and it doesn't take a week or more to get from one to the other. I ordered the checks online on 5/8/24 and I wish I had ordered from another company. Unfortunately, this is the one that the banks and credit unions use and I don't understand why. Very expensive for such poor and lengthy service. I want my 50 checks. Where are they?Business Response
