1 starI specifically chose to go with 1-800 Contacts because of their strong advertisement of customer service and their return policy. I have been wearing contacts for nearly 20 years, and I will preface that I did not know your contact prescription was brand specific. When I saw my optometrist, I felt forced into a specific brand and although I was willing to keep an open mind, I didn’t end up liking them. I ordered (or rather tried to order) a different brand of contacts than what was listed on my prescription. Again, I will take ownership of not knowing that couldn’t be done. 1-800 Contacts contacted my optometrist because of the different brand listed on the prescription, not a big deal. What is a big deal to me is that without my consent, 1-800 Contacts switched my order to the prescribed brand, charged my credit card and used my insurance benefits towards a brand of contacts I did not want. By the time I realized what happened, the order was already shipped (mind you, 2 hours AFTER I got off the phone with customer service, I got the ‘your order has shipped’ email), meaning there was nothing I could do and am now stuck waiting for them to be delivered so I can return them. I find it incredibly uncomfortable that instead of just canceling the order or confirming with me that it was okay to place that order, they just went ahead and charged me for it. This entire situation could have been avoided had they not felt entitled to make a health decision for me. This would not be acceptable for any other item you want to buy and they are hiding behind a regulation to justify bad business tactics. At the heart of it, this is a predatory practice that is completely unethical and the company is certainly aware of it considering it has happened to other people and I would highly recommend everyone thinks twice before giving this company their business.Review fromEdith M

I have been ordering my contacts from ***** contacts for years now. They make it very easy to order, and send reminders when the prescription is running out. But the most important thing is..they truly care for their customers. They are always available, and accept returns when you can no longer use the prescription lenses you have on hand.I only wish I could give more than 5 stars.**** *.1-800 Contacts, Inc.

I am Having a really hard time getting a full refund due for 3 boxes of lenses I returned. Everything is in writing . I was told in writing several times that the full refund was processed. I received a partial refund, but its been over 3 weeks and still no full refund promised to me in writing. I am thankful the policy accepts lenses that need to be returned, however. because I developed a bad eye infection from the lenses and could not wear them any longer. I believe the 800 operators are trying to help but it sounds to me like they feel they are limited by computer system malfunctions. I admit I notified 1 800 contacts in writing that my daughter thinks the three stooges are running the company, but that I told her that wasnt true. It isnt true, right?1-800 Contacts, Inc.

Normally, I like this company for my contacts. However, their "return unused contacts" is frankly a lie. After I sent in my contacts, they dragged me around for months, telling me that "the refund needs to be processed" and that it would take X amount of days. It's been well over those amount of days. It's been MONTHS. I've ghosted at this rate. If you do not want to refund customers for unusable ********************, don't advertise such things.1-800 Contacts, Inc.

I went to reorder my contacts, and they have all of my information, including my health insurance, and yet they insisted that they needed review and ensure that I had a current prescription. Well, no I don't. Because when I called to make my appointment in the early part of this year, the next availability was in november. So yeah, the prescription is obsolete, but they're refusing to fill it. Am I just supposed to not see while i'm waiting to get in to see the doctor? Am I supposed to reuse my contacts to the point where it's unhealthy for my eyes? Like I don't understand.... Okay, guys. It's official, they want us to get eye infections because that's inconvenient for them to fill a prescription that's over a year old, even though it's still my valid prescription that I continue to wear AND I could purchase myself a pair of eyeglasses with lenses without a "valid" prescription. I've literally jumped through less hoops to renew birth control using wisp. How messed up is that? I will definitely never use them again and they can absolutely delete all of my information and they'd better. I've never been scolded by a representative before, which is really a new low for them as well, considering they wouldn't even do what I was paying for. They just said, okay. We'll cancel your order and I'm like....******* you just don't want to do what i'm paying you to do? Like I can just order them from my ophthalmology office. I just thought that you guys were supposed to be more convenient, but I guess not.... Rude unprofessional and can't do the job they're being paid for. I will never use them again.1-800 Contacts, Inc.

I would give 0 stars if possible, I ordered my contacts on 8/31, noticed they had not shipped yet on 9/4 so I talked to live chat (took screenshots) of them confirming they would ship that day! To my suprise, on 9/9 I noticed they still did not ship, so I talked to customer service again they confirmed they were ready but needed to charge me a 2nd time because they released my original authorization causing my $ to get froze for 10 days! I explained to the lady I talked to that I would not get paid again till Friday, she also stated I needed to hurry because the system might delete my order and all I needed to do was pay again! They called me looking for a 2nd payment Wednesday and Thursday which I restated Id get paid again Friday! Sure enough they called Friday and I explained to the lady I was very skeptical about paying again but she reassured me they would ship immediately and Id have them by Monday! I asked 5/6 times there is no way this situation happens again where my money gets frozen for 10 days again (this is all recorded) again she reassured me now everything is good and verified! I paid and then the next day I receive an email my prescription is expired! And now Im waiting again 10 days to receive money they charged me twice for not to mention waited over 2 weeks and was fed ******** lies just so they could make a sale??? I am beyond disappointed i honestly feel like I got scammed! I dont know how its legal to do this to people, this is hundreds of dollars theyll tie up and then just tell u its the computer system there is nothing they can do! Then theyll try to state its my bank thats making me wait! NO ITS YOUR EMPLOYEES LYING FOR WHAT? To close a sale????1-800 Contacts, Inc.

If you are getting a rebate for contacts, do not use 1800 contacts as their rebate cards expire 6 months after issuance, which is highly unusual for the industry and not competitive.1-800 Contacts, Inc.

They promote sales in bad faith and blatantly deceive customers with no disclaimer anywhere.They offer a 25% discount on a first-time order as a new customer. Throughout the entire selection and purchasing process, they show the selected box of contacts as discounted price of $80.99 per box (discounted down from $107.99 per box). Even at the checkout process a photo STILL shows the cost of that box to be $80.00 per box. At 2 boxes, my total should be $161.98 minus the $150 from my insurance discount to equal $11.98. The actual total is $49.48!!!I was SHOCKED. I had to call them to understand why. The lady took me through the ringer, refusing to answer my basic question until 7 minutes into the phone call. The 25% discount comes off AFTER insurance. So, instead of saving $54 on 2 boxes, I only saved $16.50!!! Horrendous business practice, especially since there is no disclaimer. The cherry on top is that the customer support agent seemed to know exactly why I was calling from the beginning, signifying to me that this is a very well-known issue that they refuse to remedy. I cannot, in good conscience, do business with a company that appears to be operating with an intentionally deceiving business practice such as this.1-800 Contacts, Inc.
