1 starMy first experience with 1800contacts started out great but turned into a nightmare. The initial contact rep was friendly and knowledgeable. Once I placed my order I was put on hold after my credit card number was given and was told there was a small issue and to hold. I received a receipt which was for an order which stated my total due was ****** but my bank account had withdrawals of ****** twice with an additional ******. This company took ****** from me and used my benefit with the insurance company as well. I asked for a refund and was told it was done and it would be 3-10 business days possibly with my bank. I called my bank to report the fraud and they are taking care of it (I hope}. I spoke to three managers . The manager ***** was advising me of what he was intending to do regarding my transactions being sent to me via email and stated when we hung a breakdown of the transactions would be sent. I asked to get the email with the information while we were on the line, it turned in to a shouting match and I was told he would hang up and the call was disconnected. The other two managers stated they could stay on the line while I phoned my bank to assist with the transactions but the calls disconnected while waiting for the bank to answer and they never called back. This has been the worst experience. I will be filing further complaints with the company about this business in the near future regarding this horrible experience.Review fromMaura T

1 starHorrible experience with ***** contacts, and I will never use them again. I ordered my contacts on December 31st, 2023, and gave them my ***************** and I ordered them before January 1st to take advantage of my vision benefits. On January 1st, I got a call from someone at ***** Contacts saying I ordered the wrong contacts and they would update the purchase with the necessary details. On January 7th, I went into the hospital very sick, and the contacts arrived right before I was admitted into the hospital for seven weeks. I was unable to check the receipt. Tonight, February 29th, I went to submit the receipt to my vision insurance and noticed it was dated January 1st. I called their team at ***** Contacts and explained how I put the order in on December 31st and needed a receipt that reflected this to submit to my insurance and they refused to change the date. In addition, I was owed a $60 rebate that was supposed to be submitted by February 21st, and they said I was too late! I explained how I was in the hospital for a long period and missed simply because I was unable. They said that there was nothing they could do to help me!!! Can you believe a big company like ***** Contacts refused to help me! The only reason I used them was for the benefits that they refused to allow me. NEVER AGAIN!Review fromLESLIE W

1 starId like to give no stars. After sending me the wrong contacts which I had to pack up and bring to the store to send back they double charged me for the correct ones and said receipt was incorrect and would not refund. **************** manager had such a bad attitude and had no idea how you are supposed to speak to a customer. Told me I can return these too if Id like but again would have to go to the store to return. I had wonderful customer service when I called in about my order. No holds! Product delivered on time right to my door with no issues. They even replace damaged and ripped contacts. Definitely a legit business, so not sure what all the clickbait complaints are about?1-800 Contacts, Inc.

The company agreed to buy my old contacts for $101. I sent them my contacts but no deposit was ever made to my account. When I contacted them, they said that I had already received the money for the contacts in 2021, three years prior, but the money that they paid me in 2021 was for my old prescriptions since I had an appointment that year and I ordered new powers for the new prescription and the old ones that I had at that time I sold to them. That has nothing to do With the context, I purchased at that time but never used. They said in my dresser and I never received any money from them. I spoke to a supervisor but they could not understand this. They insisted that I already received money in 2021 for these contacts, but I had not, but I had not . I received money . I received money for the contact the contacts the contacts left previously for the contacts left over previously. I dont understand why they couldnt understand that. The new Box of unused contacts I sent them were sent with the agreement that they would Deposit $101 into my checking. They did not honor this. They tried to take the contacts and not give me the $101. It took much effort to get a credit with the company for that amount. I settled for it, but thats not what we had agreed upon. I have bank records and a good memory to go with them. Its simple. I cant understand why they dont understand. In 2021. I received a new prescription and purchased new contacts sold in my old ones. Never did use the ones I purchased in 2021. So I decided to sell them now and they agreed I sent him the contacts they received them and then try to keep them without paying agreed-upon amount. Now I dont wear contacts anymore, but I have a credit of $101 with **** Contacts that I have no use for. Now they will resell my contacts and get cash for them, but they wont give me the cash. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We provide full refunds for lenses purchased from us and offer an account credit for lenses purchased elsewhere. Below is our policy for lenses purchased elsewhere.
- AT LEAST 1 year left on the expiration date.
- They are unopened boxes. Even for 90 packs the 30 packs inside the 90 packs will NOT count because they are from an opened box.
- They are unmarked, which means NO stickers or writing.
- They are undamaged boxes.
- Must be lenses that we carry.
- No private labels or discontinued brands.
- No refunds are allowed on contact lenses purchased elsewhere.
- Once we receive the contact lenses, we will add a credit to the account for future orders.
Looking at your account history, we see that in 2021, you purchased two total boxes of the brand of lenses you recently returned. In two separate transactions, we have already refunded the entire order. The most recent refund from February 22 can take 3-10 business days to appear on your account. We also made an exception and applied a credit for a future order to your account for the single lenses returned to us but purchased elsewhere.

Never again will this outlet double bill me,and then filibuster me when I ask them for the reason, 8 years and they clearly cannot be trusted with my credit card information, emails that sound like they were written by a six year old, telling me to dance because my contacts are being shipped, another stupid email telling me they're lining the box with blue velvet for shipping completely sophomoric Outlet, I essentially was billed $400 for a box of 24 contact lenses, and the rude MF blames my refund on the bank taking 3 days which shouldn't be the case if they didn't double Bill me haphazardly, I was done with his filibuster so I hang up and the rude customer service calls me back trying to convince me it's my fault well never answering my simple question of just crediting me $20, no problem, NEVER AGAIN.1-800 Contacts, Inc.

Looking at your account, we see the original order placed on 2/18/2024 for a total of $204.98 (order #**********). There was an edit to the order on 2/20/2024 which decreased the order total to $179.98. ***** will generally use the same authorization but in this case a second authorization was created which is what you are seeing. The only charge on your account will be the $179.98. You will see the second authorization drop within **** business day - normally much quicker.
We also refunded you $20 on 2/20/2024 for the exam. That *** also take **** business days.
Your contact order is still on the way to you and expected to arrive no later than 2/29. If you wish to set up a return for that order, we do have the guarantee which allows you to do that, we would be happy to send a prepaid return label to you if that is your desire. Keep in mind, your lenses purchased from us are backed by our 100%guarantee which includes free replacements of damaged lenses, returns and exchanges to ensure that you are never stuck with lenses that you can't use!
In hopes that you will give us another chance in the future we have added a 10% off coupon to your account that will never expire. 1 starThis is a clickbait company - complete bait and switch! They promise a discount and then there is always some type of loophole why they cannot provide the discount. Of course the agent on the phone knows all this, but they will lie and cheat to make the sale. It is completely unscrupulous. I would expect a second hand car salesman to use these types of tactics, but not a company like this. It is cheating and dishonest, it is shocking really.
