      I've been trying to get my new Mastercard since October. One rep was very rude and told me to "just wait until tomorrow, you'll get it!." I called on 1/11 (for the 4th time for the same request) and they told me **** business days. It's been over 2 weeks, and still nothing. I called them, and now they tell me my card hasn't even been crested yet. I asked if I was going to be notified when it's shipped, and she says "call back next week and check." On top of no direct answer, she tells me that I have a payment due, and sounded like she was waiting for me to make a payment. It's been nothing but inconveniences since they switched to the Mastercard. Definitely closing my account.

      My old card had been compromised so Merrick needed to send me another one. Up to this point they had been a fantastic company. I was told I would receive my card in 7 to 10 business days. I still haven't received my card a month later. I called and spoke to the customer rep who stated that the card company that they had been using to make the cards is no longer making them for Merrick and that Merrick cant find a company to make them. She stated that as long as Merrick owed the previous card maker no other company is willing to make new ones. This doesn't sound like good business practice to me. I ask the rep to speak to a Supervisor and she stated that the supervisor would tell me the same thing so no I don't need to speak to one. She then told me that as soon as they get someone to make the cards I would be shipped one and calling back wont accomplish anything but wasting my time and theirs. What a peach! They need to get better customer reps that can handle stress while they are searching for new card makers...

      Bad customer service and they dont care about consumers . I called ***** ********** to report them for fraud and get my money back. They harassed me for months because my account was having issues I was told needed to make payments or my account would be closed and I paid them $358 on the 13th of January to keep them happy and they still closed my account and they didnt even notify me until I went out my way to ask why my available balances were stuck at 0. Moral of the story they closed my account but still want me to pay them money for an account thats closed. They are hitting me with interest rates that are high and had I known they would do this to me I wouldve let it go to collections and I wouldve settled with the collections. They hang up on when you call and refuse to give a call back number . They will antagonize you for days on end if u miss a payment . This is the c*** I liked them up until today that goes to show you that they are good with them u til you are not

      I have been with Merrick Bank for approximately 4 to 5 years now maybe more not sure, and have not really had issues with them until recently when they decided to change over from a **** to a MasterCard. I received my letter informing me of this and that I would be receiving a new card in the mail, I never received my new card yet I couldn't access my account because the new card number was on file and my old card was now defunct . I called their customer service to let them know that I had not received my new card and I had no access to my account, (I use my Merrick credit card for medications, diabetic, heart, etc.). The phone call with customer service was resolved and said they would send me my new card out within 7 to 10 days, well after ************************************************************************************************************************************************* the mail yet, I tell the representative that I use this card for medications and still this person's reply was the card is in production and will be mailed as soon as possible, I proceed to ask is there any way that I can have the card mailed to me priority or next email or whatever you want to call it and in a snarky attitude says, "no there's nothing I can do" at which point I say "this is b*lls**t", and then the representative asked me "is there anything else I may help you with?", At which point I am extremely ****** off and I hang up on them, Merrick Bank needs to remedy these types of situations... I would have actually made this review zero stars but that is impossible... Good luck to any others who have Merrick Bank credit cards.

      Merrick Bank has been nothing, but a complete mess. I applied for a credit card and got approved on Dec 10th 2022, was told I would receive it with in 10days I still have not received my card and its January 10th 2023, but I did receive a bill of ****** due on Jan 21rst. When I called and asked when I would receive my card, they could not give me a date, they told me it was still in the production. I asked to speak to his supervisor; and I was not able to speak with a supervisor because they are going to give me the same information. What I got told. Super rude!! Would not use or recommend!

      BBB needs an option for 0 stars to warn people about outright scams. This is not a gray area of the law here. What they are doing is illegal. They put any number of false statements in writing, and then they don't do those things.My fiasco started on December 9th. I got a pre-approval offer from Merrick stating that I was pre-approved. $72 for an annual fee is fine, and I could have used the extra money for the holidays. Within one day of approving me, they reported this account as opened to Experian. I got that notification. In 47 years, I've never had a credit card company report an account open the next day it was applied for, but that would have been fine if they'd got the card to me.Two weeks passed. Three weeks passed. I called several times and was told that there's a "global plastic shortage" preventing them from sending out cards. I Googled that. Nope. There's no global plastic shortage at all. Not even a thing. Two weeks after "approving" me for a card they knew they didn't have to send, they charged the $72 for the annual fee. I've NEVER in all my life had a company charge an annual fee before the card reached me, but they sure did.They did not send me anything in writing with that bill, so I STILL, 4 weeks later, don't have my account number to sign up online and PAY this annual fee. The customer service agent assured me it will be here in **** days. That's wonderful. My bill is due in 7 days. How do I pay it? Even if you took their absurd story that they're a credit card company who can't make physical credit cards, they COULD have sent me a bill for the $72 and had my account number on a piece of paper so that I could sign up.To top it off, they sent an email in late December claiming the $72 fee had been removed from my account. This, too, was a lie, and Experience is still showing it as due. The man on the phone said it was due.Do NOT sign up with this company. Their goal from day one is to do anything possible to make sure you can't pay.

      Merrick bank is one big scam. I was approved for an unsecured credit card. After a month I never received a card but did get sent an email an paper bill saying my payment was due soon for the maintenance fee an annual fee of the card. You should not be charged for a card you never received or that has never been activated. Called customer service they said they don't have no cards to send as soon as they do I will receive one I never heard a bank say they don't have cards for people. I would not recommend to anyone.

      Absolute worst customer service! I called on 11/28 then again 12/02 requesting to have a late fee waived. (For being one day late) was told both times it would be waived. Waited for the fee to be waived to pay the remaining balance due, so I could determine the actual amount that I owe minus the fee. Never got waived now I have a second late fee. Called again today and was hung up on FOUR times! And told they can only waive one even tho its their fault the first first was never waived, they had documentation showing it should have been waived, and the second should never have been charged! They talked down to me as if I didnt know what I was talking about, Ive been in baking for 8+ years I know how it works. Refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor and was told they only reach out if a request is put in! What a joke!
