      I recently had a very disappointing experience with Merrick Bank's customer service. I encountered an issue with, and attempting to resolve it through their customer service channels proved to be an exercise in futility.Firstly, reaching a live representative was an ordeal in itself. The automated phone system was convoluted, and after navigating through a maze of menus and hold times, I was often disconnected before even getting to speak with someone.When I did manage to connect with a representative, they were unhelpful and seemed disinterested in resolving my issue. They provided generic responses, lacked knowledge about the bank's own policies, and displayed a complete lack of empathy towards my situation.Furthermore, my attempts to communicate through email were equally frustrating. Responses were slow, often taking several days, and failed to address my concerns adequately.Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with Merrick Bank's customer service. Their lack of responsiveness, unhelpful representatives, and inefficient communication channels made for a truly frustrating experience. I would not recommend this bank to anyone who values good customer service.Disclaimer: This review is based on my personal experience and may not reflect the experience of all Merrick Bank customers.

      I was in an car accident that totaled my car and I called Merrick Bank to get in a payment plan to get my credit back on track so my score could go back up and I can get a new car. I called November 3, 2024 was placed on a 3month payment plan because I didn't want to closed my account. My first installment for the payment plan was 11/18/24 for $45.00. When I called to make the first payment, I confirmed the payment plan with the representative from Merrick Bank telling her want to get my card back on track and my score to raise do to my totaled SUV, who advised me that my account was closed. I was very upset and didn't understand and she advised me that unfornately when the payment plan was made on the 11/3 it was open but closed on the 11/8/24 five days later. I didn't think they can do that because the plan should be locked in and before a account is closed they should have seem the payment plan on file. Please let me know if this is true. I feel staff at Merrick Bank didn't pay attention to the fact the credit card this on a plan. Please advise

      My account was closed in 2022 throw arbitration meeting a charge off agreement. Now that they gave me credit I believe it was $500, they went back and added the charge off amount to my account now the balance is too high to use.

      If I can give Merrick bank A0I would absolutely do that. I have been paying my card $40. *****, the minimum payment and my card hasn't went down. They are the worst to deal with. I will not recommend getting this credit card. Because now they're charging me like $300 a month. And I'm still paying my minimum, but nothing is going down. They are charging me with so much interest fees and all this other charges, so I would not recommend this card.Or company to anybody

      I just opened up a credit card with these people I found it a little bit sketchy when I went to pay by debit card and the payment didn't even show. I contacted the company and when I told him I paid for the debit card apparently a transfers you to a third party website which doesn't post the payment then they act like they don't even know that you paid the card. So when I threatened to pursue legal action against them the lady put me on hold for 20 minutes then she came back and said her supervisor said that the payment should post within 2 days. I'm going to pay off the balance in 2 days and close my c*** out I'm not going to ever do business with these people. Also when I accidentally enrolled in a one-time payment it automatically saves your card. When I asked the lady to unenroll me she claims that she couldn't send me a confirmation claiming that I was unenrolled. So I told her if I don't get any type of information stating that I was unenrolled they will be hearing from a lawyer. And also I'm going to ******** to post this as well to not do business with this company. I believe that they're a scam.what they like to do is get your checking account information and then hold the payment and then charge you fees so that if your account is late they can charge you extra fees.

      Account was not charged off UNTIL AFTER I scheduled a large payment towards my CLOSED account, but was charged every month different fees up until this payment was to be made out. Had their employees telling me two different things when I spoke to them about the issue. They stated it was because the account was past due 120 days yet once I looked at my credit report the ************************ Sept of this year. I tried to cancel my payment and was told it was already cancelled but once I mentioned the other employee said it was still pending then all of a sudden she can NOW see it WAS STILL PENDING, and couldn't stop the payment. Smh they have been illegally charging me for 2 months and would not fix the amount. Also I don't like this company because after the FIRST WEEK of using my card they reported it to my credit the very NEXT WEEK and dropped my score a lot! Do not use this company. It is very terrible!!

      I'm gonna give Merrick Bank Zero...3 / 4 times someone altered my credit card...I actually have good credit and my card was set for automatic deposit...however with only $40.00 someone was able to dismis my automated credit and caused a late fee. They would not reverse the fee and was adamant that they wouldn't. I don't like business people who are after illegal money...I will not close the account but Never will I ever use it again.

      I was not informed that when I received my card it would already have ***** deducted from it for an annual fee. I called customer service and got the" I'm sorry." "I understand." Blah blah blah. Ridiculous and they probably charge interest on the fee.

      after several years of never being late, i was late due to hospitalization. the late charge was reversed however my credit increase was denied. They tried to blame trans union who denied stating I had perfect credit. I closed my account and will never do business with this bank again.*.*****,**

      I told them to close my account and I will pay on the balance. The balance at the time was like around $420.00. Now its $625.00 something like that. This place is horrible and should have legal file against them. I ask them to close this account back in August and now its November and they are steady adding late fees after I told them to close the account because I have a health issue and wanted my account close so I can pay on my balance. Please let everyone know never get a card or do business with them
