      Received a letter saying I needed update my authorize user information birthdate. The phone number on the form did not match the phone number on my credit card so I was kind of leery of it and then when I called in, they said they needed a Social Security number also and I did not feel comfortable giving them that, since the phone numbers didnt match but yet even though I told him I was a customer of *************************************************************** not because of that just because I was scared and worried about security and did not want my ID stolen . They dont care about losing over 20 years because I sure wouldnt use this bank.

      Merrick Bank is by far the most deceitful credit card provider Ive encountered. Charging purchase fees in addition to interest fee they charge on my bill monthly. $618 so far in 11 months on regular purchases. I just noticed. They dont want to remove or work with me as a senior citizen. Its so disgusting and ratchet. I called them to stop them from doing this and they refused and said I qualified for a payment plan to resolve the is*** and at the end they said I didnt qualify. At this point I dont care to pay them as they didnt care to work with me. I tried in a good faith effort to which they denied me the opportunity to pay off this credit card with monthly payments without this xtra purchase ($55.00) fee and close it. I froze the credit card so that my $13.99 payment to ******* would not come out monthly anymore b/c for this I was being charged $55 monthly. I am so upset with this that the can now *** me. Like ********************* said in Gone with the Wind Frankly my dear, I dont give a dam!

      I never opened an account we ith this bank. I found out about it through my credit report and even filed a report through the **** They now have given charge some sort of fee and I've never even received a card from them in the mail or any documentation that an account was opened other than on my credit report.

      I was charged $75 set up fee for a card I had applied for there (CREDIT KARMA) - had no idea I was approved - and charged $35 late fee on a card I was unaware existed. Not sure how its legal to charge someone for a card they applied for without consent for the $75 "set up fee" to activate it (which I never did) - there's no balance. I have never used it - as I had no idea I was approved. I had no mail or documentation of an existing account. This should be fraud. Its hit my credit and I'm being charged late fee for not paying their "set up fee".

      I'm really disheartened by the practices of Merrick Bank. I used my card "once" for a cash advance in November '2023. I found out later, after careful review of my statement, that I was charged a fee on each statement thereafter. I asked that the rep send information in writing to substantiate such practices. He said that he would. I'm giving this review because such a practice is unfounded and consumers should be informed.

      This credit card company is by far the worst I have ever encountered. I made a payment using my checking account and routing number, MB took forever to take the money at which by that time other bills I had on autopay at been taken out of my account. When I catch this, I then call MB to make the payment using my debit card, after being charged $5 to pay using my debit, the money was taken out of my account immediately, and I was told it would reflect on my card immediately. Two days later I go to use my card at the grocery store and its declined. I called, that person on the phone explained to me about the first payment being returned and that it was blocked because of that. I accepted that and they told me that on Monday it would be unblocked and I can go about business as usual.. since that day, every single day that its been blocked, Ive called, and every single person that Ive spoken with has told me it would be unblocked the following day. Finally they tell me its 5 days before the block is taken off. On the fifth day which was yesterday, the lady tells me because its the fifth day, that the system regenerates after 12am midnight, and to call back after that and if the system hasnt taken the block off that they will be able to do it manually. I called 4am and its still blocked and the guy on the phone actually chuckled when I expressed to that Im beginning to think theyre scammers and that I will be contacting BBB. I strongly encourage anyone who is considering going to them, NOT TO!!!!!!! This has been the worst experience Ive ever had with a credit card company. And this is a secured card at that. Its not even like theyre giving me credit, Im paying my money up front to build my credit and theyre just taking people money and telling them when they can use the card that already have their money on it!!!!!!!!!! This company is no good and I urge someone (Government) to investigate them and their unethical practices !!!

      I had a Merrick Bank Mastercard for 3 years and I missed my 3 dollars a month payment and they docked my credit 60 points. I had a zero balance on the card when they did this. I closed my account that day and will never recommend Merrick for anyone.

      I havent gotten my card yet and Im considering closing the account. **************** is awful! Ive never dealt with such unprofessional people before. This was such an odd experience.

      This bank charged me a late fee for paying the day it was due?but they took 48 hours and to process it and then gave me a late fee and put interest on the late fee- scamming customers

      Terrible! I am a senior in **** and they are charging me for a transaction in ** for ****** that I did not make.
