    I am filing a complaint against ******************************************* PL regarding their handling of a collection account (account #*******, original creditor ***** ******************** that appears on my credit report (reference #M61695588, report date 03/04/2025). The debt was for $2,583.00, which I paid in full on 02/22/2025, but I was coerced into doing so through unfair and aggressive tactics by *******************************************.When I contacted Aldous to discuss the debt, their representatives were extremely unprofessional and aggressive. They were very mean on the phone, using a harsh and intimidating tone that made me feel pressured and stressed. They refused to negotiate a settlement for a lower amount, insisting I pay the full $2,583.00 immediately, and would not allow me to explore options for settling the debt or having it removed from my credit report upon payment. I felt forced to pay the full amount to avoid further harassment or potential consequences they implied, such as further damage to my credit. Even after I paid the debt in full, Aldous refused to consider removing the account from my credit report, which continues to negatively impact my credit score (FICO scores of ******* as of 03/04/2025).I believe ******************************************* actions were unfair and potentially in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Their coercive tactics, refusal to negotiate, and unwillingness to work with me on a fair resolution (such as a pay-for-delete agreement) have caused me significant stress and financial harm. The presence of this collection account on my credit report continues to affect my ability to secure credit, despite having paid the debt in full.
