1 starSalesman sold the system, with the assurance that there would not be a problem with early termination--my in-laws had a problem with a monitoring company and could not get out of the contract. On December 17th, the system went down, and after several chats with ADT techs, they determined that the battery was at fault, and that I needed to order a new one (note that the ordering and hoping that I get the correct battery is on me). I ordered the new battery (free of charge as it turns out), and am told that it will be a further 7-8 days before it arrives.Since the system is down and it appears that it will be for more than a week, I called ADT to see about cancelling my service. They referred me to Safe Streets, where I'm told that termination fees will be 75% of the remaining service fees ($1237.25) because I'm past the three month cancellation period (by 10 days). So I now have an inoperable system that will cost me $1237.25 to get rid of. DO NOT believe anything that these people tell you. Read the fine print of any contracts they have very carefully.Review fromRobert D

1 starThis company is nothing but a shill for ADT which has some of the most aggressive marketing efforts I've ever encountered. Shame on Meritage Homes for partnering with Safestreets and not disclosing the relationship between Safestreets and ADT. I bought a new home from Meritage and was encouraged to take advantage of a Safestreets promotion and I did, not realizing it was affiliated with ADT. Long story short, yesterday I was provided with a keypad by a Safestreets technician who proceeded to link it with my garage door opener, my thermostat and my entry door lock. I specifically asked if his work would have any negative impact on the programming I had already done and he told me no. AFTER he was done installing the keypad, he informed me that because I was not getting any security devices from them the keypad was only good to check the weather and control the entry door lock which is 10 steps away from the keypad. Such a waste of my time as this is worthless to me! And then, today, I discovered that ALL my garage door remotes were deprogrammed and I have to reprogram all of them. Meritage home has an app called M.Connected Home that was programmed at the same time yesterday by the Safestreets tech. It is supposed to control the alarm system (worthless because I would never work with ADT based on past experiences), the thermostat, the garage door opener and the entry door lock. I tried to reset the schedule on the Honeywell Home thermostat using this app and it directed me to the native Resideo app for Honeywell. The M.Connected Home app is worthless as far as I'm concerned. Do your own diligence but if you are approached by Safestreets, beware. All they want is to sign you up for expensive alarm monitoring. To say I've had a bad experience would be understating my frustration with this company. I'll be writing a similar review for Meritage Homes with which I've been fairly satisfied until now.Review fromNicole S

Salesman lied to make a sale. Sold me motion detectors and stated that my pets arent big enough to trip the sensor. Every single time we left, the motion detectors would be tripped by the pets. Safe streets claims that there is a way to adjust the sensitivity on the motion detectors so they wont trip when an animal walks past it. Two separate ADT technicians came to my home and told me that was a lie, there is no was to adjust the sensitivity. ADT stated that the only way for my system to work as designed, they would need to remove the motion detectors. safe streets refuses to refund me for the parts that adt had to remove stating they work because they are tripping the alarm so they dont have to do anything to resolve this issue. I would give this company 0 stars if it were possible. I run a business cant imagine lying to one of my customers to increase my profits when I knew they couldnt use what I was selling them. This company is disgusting. I suggest going with a different monitoring company unless you want to be screwed over.Safe Streets USA, LLC

The motion detectors came free with the system so there is no refund necessary here. Please call us at ************ if you have any questions about this.Review fromRobert C

1 starI am usually careful to allow myself to be scammed by third party representatives (Alpha Safe Street). They promised that ADT security system would be installed and they would pay for half the cost of my cable bill. Well several months later, the cost of my cable subscription is the same and when I call the Alpha Safe Streets rep, all she can offer for me to return my cable box's and DVR's to the cable company to help reduce my cost. Of course that wasn't the original agreement. When I asked to credit my cable account the extra cost, she said I will into it. I asked if I may speak with someone else from the company, and she would not disclose the name of the company she works for or other management level representatives. Needless to say nothing has been done. I also called ADT and canceling their subscription is too costly at this time. They were unable to do anything on this matter other than providing me with the phone number of the same Alpha representative. I am angry and extremely disappointed that ADT Security that has allowed a third party to represent them in this matter.Review fromPhyllis C

This company is a scam. A young man by the name of ***** came to my house on 8/10/23 and stated he was an agent of ********* and he was there to save us money on our bill and give us a free ADT system for a one time payment of $149.00. He was going to reduce our bill by $60 a month, As it turned out the system was not free, my credit card had fraudulent charges from him on it. in speaking with ********* no agent was sent to my home. My bill with Century Link remained the same and ADT was taking money from by account for almost $80.00. There was a $200 gift card promised. Of course that did not happen, This is a total scam and I am sad to say I fell for it. Their reps will not call you to resolve any problems, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS AS I DID. I do not blame ADT just who they contract our to.Safe Streets USA, LLC

Hi *******, SafeStreets has no affiliation with ********** as we only handle security systems. This was likely done by a different company or a sub-dealer of ours. Please contact our customer service line and we can look into getting you in contact with the correct people who can resolve the issue of your internet/cable bill.Review fromAllen S

1 starJust read the reviews, they are liars and will make empty promises. I already had a security system installed and the tech said the company would do a buy out. Then when I contacted the company they informed me they would not honor this promise and that they did not do buy outs. Now I pay double for a security system I didnt need.Review fromDenise M

1 starI had safe streets install my adt home security, understanding this was adt. The technician reassured me that this was ADT. My system never worked. Ive had less than three months. I called ADT by phone. Someone walk me through a process. A few weeks later I made an appointment for a technician to come to my home and its still not working. I called ADT today they said my system was defective and they reassured me. This would be canceled and I would owe no money since it was less than six months. They suggested I called safe streets and schedule a time for them to pick up my equipment. I called safe streets and they said I wish to call no one but safe streets for any technical issues . I do not have a contract and I did not know I was to call anybody else but ADT. I told safe streets my account is closed and ADT said I owe no money. SAFE STREET SAID I DO OWE A CANCELLATION FEE FOR 36 MONTHS THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE TO PAY REGARDLESS OF THE **** AND ADT IS NOT MY PROVIDER. So if youre going to purchase home security go through ADT do not go through safe streets they are scammers and I dont know how to get out of this contract. This is not right. Im glad they can sleep at night.Review fromAiyshia C

1 starI purchased my first home in Oct of 2022. I wanted a security system installed. I called ADT and they sent out safe street. A equipment installation guy came out as a sales men. He quoted me a price I could not afford being a new homeowner, so I told him I wouldnt be able to get the security system installed today. He continued to try and pitch me a better deal and I just let him know up front that I couldnt afford it. He then began to let me know that they have a 11 month plan and that I would pay around 104/monthly and that would be for everything. I was comfortable with that price. He let me know they wouldnt take anything up front and I said Good, cause I dont have anything up front. The process took longer than expected, and I had a test to take that day. I asked my brother to come over until the guy was finished. I gave him my information to start the payment plan, and had to speak on his phone to give authorization. While at school my brother was blowing up my phone but I couldnt answer because we were testing. When I finished I rushed to call him back and he said the guy was trying to get him to sign something. I told him there was nothing he should sign. Next I noticed my phone getting alerts my account has been overdrawn. The installer first tried to take out ***** and it declined, he tried to take out ***** and it declined, the third attempt was successful and he was able to withdraw *****. I was so stressed out because that was all I had for groceries after using all my savings towards the closing costs for my new home. I had a supervisor name *************** me back and play devils advocate and tell me he would refund me the money and send a service tech out to come and uninstall the work if I took down my bad review. I Took down the review. No one ever came out or returned my money.Review fromLeAnn T

1 starI made the mistake of falling for a door to door solicitation for an ADT security system the end of June (2023). The equipment was installed the day after. On September 16th, the sliding glass door sensor just fell off. I am a senior citizen with some physical limitations that do not go well with climbing up a ladder. I texted the installer but didn't hear anything back, so I then texted the salesperson. This was September 19th. For the next few weeks the installer kept trying to convince me to just fix it myself, including the suggestion that I could just go to ********** get a specific kind of tape and put it back up. Throughout this time period I made my physical limitations clear to both the installer and the salesperson. The installer kept repeating that they could send a "kit" out so that I could put it back up. I finally convinced the installer to come out on 10/9. At the time he was supposed to arrive, I rcvd a message that something came up and he couldn't make it. At this point I was sick of the whole thing (and I was paying for a system I couldn't use) and I just told them to send the kit and I would find someone to put it up for me. The kit had still not arrived by 10/27.I called Safe Streets and was told they couldn't do anything because they said I had never notified them. Not once was I told during this process that I had to call Safe Streets directly. They said that it was past the 90 day warranty so they didn't have to do anything; that I had to call ADT. In addition, they said that only ADT could send out the kits. I called ADT and after having to tell my story 3 different times to 3 different people I talked to a tech person. She said that Safe Streets was responsible for 12 months and that they had to send the kit out. (She did arrange for a kit to be sent to me which arrived 11/1). I am in the process of filing a complaint with the ** ************************* and will be contacting the government agency in ********* that deals with pemits.Review fromRobert P

1 starIf I could give no stars I would ****************** is complete bullshit!!!! Run if you can. Dont sign anything with them. If you sign up for the service your screwed and getting juggled between companies. Its a Complete SCAM!!!!!! SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! The techs are idiots the customers service only wants to talk to you if you want to pay them. and cancellation requests and you'll be sent to the land of broken toys with no recourse they will not respond If you want security monitoring pay for it on your own. DO NOT USE SAFE STREETS!!!!!
