      I'd like to share my terrible experience with Hawx Pest Control. I had a one-year service agreement with Hawx commencing June 2023. Having paid my monthly dues in a timely manner, I called Hawx in May 2024 to confirm cancellation (for June) and was told I needed to call again in June to terminate. I called in June, 2024 and at the time my account balance was *****. The representative told me again I needed to call in July 24 to cancel the service otherwise I would be charged a $200.00 cancellation fee. I explained to the representative I was going out of the country for a month so I would call back at the end of July. She then said she would connect me with an account manager to see my options. She transferred my call and after more than 25 minutes on hold the call was dropped. Not long after, I began receiving texts and calls from Hawx requesting payment of a $55 usd balance. *** answered multiple calls and explaining why I should not be charged, but I was cut off or the call was disconnected. Then I started to receive calls from Hawx every day, even multiple calls a day. We never received service after June. After July 26 I talked with an account manager and explained the above again to her. She agreed to close my account, which should have been closed in July. She confirmed my balance was $0.00 usd. The following day I started to get calls by Hawx again, multiple times a day. I answered and explained the situation one more time and she said **** is charging you an extra month because you didnt cancel on time and she also said I hung up the call when I was waiting on the phone for an account manager for 25 minutes and the call was dropped! I was cut off again when I explained the situation to her. I asked to speak to one of the account manager supervisors and she told me they dont answer customer calls.Hawx has not effective, no ethics, but what is worse is their customer service - it's so hard to have an effective conversation. *********************

      Service was cancelled with the technician on 7/2/24. However, the technician never actually requested the cancellation from the service and I was billed again on 8/13/24. Additionally, a few months ago, they were supposed to send me paperwork to adjust the monthly cost to $55.00, and that never happened an they continued to bill at $75.00. The chat function on their website does not work when you make the choice for account help, forcing you to call. Once you call, they transfer you around in an effort to "save the sale" all the while refusing to refund the money owed because their technician did not put the information into the report. I am requesting my $75.00 back that was erroneously billed on 8/13/24.

      Representative stated they could and would cancel. They are a responsible party of your company. 

      There are no documents old or new in my account, including the original agreement. There was no new agreement sent in April. 

      Even so, if the accounts are paid forward, and you wont refund the August payment, why are you also refusing service at the address when I have an on demand option?

      You conveniently keep ignoring the $75.00 billed on 8/13. You cannot both keep my money and refuse service. ***** refused on demand service BEFORE I cancelled which is why I was transferred 3 times to then cancel.

      FYI - In my account are NO documents at all. The only information available are the service reports. Which by the way, have been a month behind for the entire year - per the contract.

      Again, if you are going to bill me, then you need to provide the service. If not, return my money.

      On May 30th a Hawx employee showed up on my doorstep to sell me pest control services. I explained that we were having a serious issue with black flies. ******* was the salesman and told me he guarantees to get rid of the flies. Since that date, we have had no resolution with the flies or bugs at all. I was completely lied to in order to force me into a contract. Now the company comes when they do not let me know ahead of time, (it is on file they must provide notice), they only spray where they can access (all of our gates are locked) and they charge full price for their services. I have called and complained about the services, and they have just recently offered a coupon. I do not want anything to do with this companies lies, and they refuse to let me out of contract. They have not fulfilled their end of the contract and are still trying to charge me. Horrible services, horrible phone reps, horrible business.

      two months ago these people came to my door and said they were doing people on the street for mosquito spray and would do mine too for $50 dollars. My son was crying and I was in the middle of a crisis, I agreed for them to come the following day. Me and my son got bit so bad theater they sprayed had no effect at all. Then they came again and charged me $80. I called them and told them whatever theyre spraying must be water because there was absolutely no results. They said they would come back again for free, and charged me $80 again. When I called again to sever ties completely they told me that the man at my front door had lied to me, and what I had agreed to was a YEAR long agreement. I was never made aware of this. They never upheld any of their end, These people are scammers and go around tricking people. They are still charging me over 200 dollars for telling them not to return and say that it is getting higher? I not only deserve a refund but they need to stop trying to charge me.

Upon signing the agreement, you had received a copy of the service agreement in an email and also received an emailed welcome letter.  In the agreement and the welcome letter it explains the monthly fee and by initialing the agreement and signing the welcome letter you are allowing the monthly fee to be automatically withdrawn. Since you did not finish the agreement you were charged the early termination fee as stated in the agreement and on the welcome letter. Your account is closed and you will no longer receive services.       I am rejecting this response because:

      there was no offer of resolution. I have had to pay my original pest company this entire time because this fake company never did anything for the bugs in my yard. This fake contract that they ******* people into was never upheld on their end in any way shape or form. I did not ever receive anything for my money, and like I said had to pay my original company the entire time and was even double charged the first month. I never agreed to a long term contract, and as soon as I found out I told them I had been lied to and would be taking further action. Rightfully I am owed any month past the first $50 that I did agree to. To come to peoples homes when they are in the middle of something, lie and trick them into signing something that would have left me and my son getting bit all year and still tricked into a fake contract making us pay for absolutely nothing, is unacceptable in every way. To say that I could have looked at the email after, shame on you. It still would have been the same end result we are at right here.

      I have no further questions. I keep getting harrassed by your company to this day and told that the charges are still building interest. The 200 that you charged me was deemed not my responsibility by the card company already when the situation was investigated, thats why it was returned to me. Either stop contacting me and erase this extra charge, or refund me all money spent. I never agreed to any contract and as soon as finding out about this fraudulent business tactic have been doing everything on my end to sever ties amicably until the continued harassment by email and phone.       I agreed to a on time service for pest control with Hawk Pest control in ***********. I recently noticed that my account was charged ***** for pest control services. I contacted that office and tried to resolve this issue with the account manager. I was informed that I had agreed to have contracted pest services by this company. I tried to reason with the account representative but she would not help any way. The account representative told me that the only way I could cancel this service was to pay a cancellation fee. I explained to the representative again that I agreed to a one time service only.

The agreement clearly lays out that the service is for an initial term of twelve months, with quarterly services, monthly payments, and complimentary warranty services whenever needed.

      This signed agreement was emailed to you for your approval on the day of signing, and a three day cancellation period was in place. We did not receive communication from you until August 9, 2024. During this conversation, the agreement terms were explained again to you, you advised you didn't read the agreement when it was sent, and then ended the call before a conclusion could be reached. We are sending a copy of your signed agreement to you again for review.

      If you wish to close your account, we are happy to assist you, but will need to charge the early termination fee listed in the agreement. Alternatively, we are happy to keep your account open, and continue to service your home as well.

      Back in May the last time service as provided the tech was informed service would be terminated in June we called the call was not logged! Hawx continued to withdraw from my account! When a refund was requested I was told the service wasnt terminated! But t they did not provide any service and continued to bill!Hawxis full of thieves fraudulent billing antics **** says we were going to come out! For what reason we requested the service to end! Liars and thieves!!!!!

      I am rejecting this response because:the company during our last conversation said when/if my husband called they wouldnt have canceled because he wasnt the account owner, this was the first time this was told to me out of the 7 people I spoke with their a very deceitful company who does fraudulent billing I even offered a resolution keep *********** send back August payment they sent an email after you reached out to them saying they have refunded ***** ! They took over a ****** dollars from the account and send back ***** and think thats right? Theyre thieves and make up policies as they go along! If the call wasnt documented in June when request was made it was because my husband called and wasnt told that I needed to call! Hawx is full of it! They make up stuff/rules on the fly! Which just disgust me! When the call was made to cancel why wasnt he told I needed to call why did it take speaking to 6 employees to find this out? Theyre full of lies and deceit!

      Company ignores "No Soliciting" signs to deed-restricted neighborhood. When I informed the soliciting salesperson that our neighborhood has a posted "No Soliciting" sign they responded that they have the town's permission. When inquiring with town if this is true, I was told company has no such permission. I will never give my business to any company that disregards clearly posted "No Soliciting" signs, and I will be sure to tell anyone who is discussing pest control to avoid this business at all costs.

      A salesman came to my door to sell me pest control services. I signed up (a cost of $189) and was told that they would come once a month for $39 each time. So far they have come only once when I called to complain. I received another charge today and called the company to be told that they come once a quarter but charge monthly. I said that was silly and wanted to cancel the service. I was told it was a $199.99 charge to cancel (which he put through on my credit card today). This is ridiculous; charges but no service. Upon checking on your site there are tons and tons of complaints about this company in ****. They should be closed down.

      We apologize for any inconvenience. After reviewing your account and your signed agreement, you had our General Pest Control subscription. Per the terms of that agreement, you were billed monthly, and would have been serviced quarterly/seasonally. In addition, at any time between services, you could schedule complimentary warranty services whenever they are needed. This agreement was sent to you for your review upon its signing, and we are re-sending it at this time. 

      The agreement also states that if you choose to cancel your account prior to the completion of the initial twelve month period, an early termination fee will be applied. As you chose to cancel your account early, the fee was applied.

      We are happy to reactivate your account and continue to provide services if you wish. Please call our office at **************, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM for assistance with that, or any other questions.

      I am rejecting this response because: Please look up this business on your website and you will see that this is a pattern that Hawx uses to scam people.  They have college kids walking around door to door who do not explain the contract and have you sign it on an iPad...thus reading it is virtually impossible as they don't give you time to do so.  Then they charge and don't show up.  This company has shown up once, only after I called.  They also billed me for mosquito service that I didn't request and removed the charge when I complained.  When there are so many people having the same bad experience then the BBB should be doing something.  Please look at your site to see how many people have complained about just what I am complaining about.

      Contract dtd May 23, 2024 Receipt charge amount: $70 InPerson visit: J ********************* Omelas ***** the greatest BSer i heard. He promised the best quality service and He had our Backs. Is what He said My requests to ***** was Fridays Only, Technician has to call first Not able to just arrive without notification. No service contract! I specifically said that because I was in a contract and didnt want another commitment. I wanted month to month. Digital contract sent via email didnt say is was a year contract. Verbal contract with ***** didnt say it was a contract . Why would he say anything about that I state I do not want contract. Technician showed up later on the same day. WE saw the technician and it was different from *****. ***** didnt explain he would not be the one to show up. The technician was there for a brief time. I say brief TIME because I didnt see him spray or drop or leave any residue of pesticide. I have windows all around the backyard. I can see what he showed up for 5 min. The technician took pictures of obscure fence and meter and areas that proved nothing but to display photos. So They record minutes on the report they record pictures on the report. BUT they didnt spray nor talk to the owner afterwards. I didnt see the technician do anything except observe my japanense tree. I then called to reschedule a return visit for the same week.Next appt scheduled June7. The day of June 7 received email stating appointment. I called the ***************** and spoke to **** who had no customer service support. **** didnt even care hearing what I had to say. Stated I signed a contract and would have a prepayment penalty if I cancelled which surprised me because i didnt agree to a contract.As I thought about this **** customer service discussion I no longer trusted this company. Schedule another appt: 6/22/2024 Day of appt email was sent to me visit was cancelled.But I was charged a fee of $35 for not showing up.

We offer a three day cancellation window after signing, and there were no attempts to reach us during that period.

       I am rejectiIng this response because:

      The $70 charge was for a pest spray visit that was not completed properly, done poorly and I am being kind in describing what I visually SAW what this technician DID NOT do. My husband and I watched this technician lack of ethical duty properly not spraying and inspecting our property.  The technician did not due diligence in caring about the name of Hawx.  The technician come back to our front door did not knock on our door did not ring our doorbell and explain what he did.  It was like a thief in the night.  Hawx took our money and we received nothing.

      The $35 charge to my Chase card was for a revisit since we were not able to reach the technician, nobody answered the Hawx line and there were no appointment dates available that whole week.  In other words the first impression of this company was ******.  We got a contract!! Who cares how we treat you.!!  Hawx cancelled on me twice.

      Hawx contract states revisits to spray are no charge.  I demand you remove these charges since I DO NOT TRUST this company.  NO remorse has been received no compromise effort to try to help your customer.  I demand you remove these charges NOW.  You are in breach of your contract because

      I asked for a specific day only to treat only my home. This has not been met.  I asked ***** for no contract.  I was deceived.  No one since May 23 has reached out to me and apologized for this abuse in service.

      Your contract states a prepayment penalty when *****, your door to door sales pitch dude did not disclose alot of the information that is not even listed in your contract that we talked about that day on May 23.  ************ is a fraud.

        This account is also being report to the **** CONTROL board.

      Thank you for your response. Again, if the initial appointment was not completed to your satisfaction, we apologize. We do offer our warranty services anytime to make sure your home is taken care of.

      As mentioned before, the $35.00 charge in question is not a charge for a reservice, rather, it was the other half of your monthly charge for **** as you were given a coupon for half of the payment due to the issues you had called about. Per your agreement, there are quarterly services, and monthly payments, with warranty services available at any time in between. Per your signed agreement, the charges on your account are valid, as again, you were given the opportunity to review the agreement. To give you the opportunity to review it again, we have re-sent it to the email on file at the time of this response.

      We attempted to re-service your home and twice you requested to reschedule those appointments due to not being on a Friday. We have tried to find ways to provide services, and we apologize if it has not been to your satisfaction. As your charges are currently in dispute we cannot do anything until the disputes are resolved.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The May 23 pest svc visit was unsatisfactory.  The technician did not spray in the areas that active ants spiders and insects were present.  He did not knock down any spider webs.  He did not spray 30 feet beyond the property.  I watched the technician do nothing.  That is why I made several attempts to call Hawx to see if the technician to return.  To date, no one has ever called me to try to remedy my pest issues.  Since beginning service with Hawx, there isnt anything they have done right  except cause alot of stress anxiety and extended time lapse of not getting pest control service.  Hawx provides very poor service.  I was told I could get any day of the week for pest service visits.  Now you are blaming me for wanting a Friday and that I cancelled.  NO this is wrong facts. Hawx cancelled both my service appointments on the same day **** was supposed to show up.

      The only thing I cancelled was my service on June 25.  I also submitted my cancellation letter prior to that date to *****************************.  I cancelled this service.  Hawx sent me an email aug 8 stating, Hi ******* Here is the file you requested. This is another error!  I did not ask for anything so dont state that I asked for something since I am not dealing with Hawx outside of this dispute. I dont have any account with Hawx.

      We have attempted many times to service your property with no success. This is a false fact.  

      They did an unsatisfactory job the first spray that was stated they completed.  Its worse than the other pest control companies I have had service with.  Unsatisfactory and cant be justified of $70 I wanted a retreat (free) and couldnt get it. 

      Do to you not wanting to finish out the agreement we had to charge the early termination fee. You gave me no choice but to cancel.  You have caused me nothing but stress frustration anger that you deceived me with your business scam.

      Hawx has NEVER reached out to me.  Never received one call. NOT one call or email from a supervisor. Hawx has never responded by email EXCEPT to remind me of a contract I never agreed to the terms.

      All charges are NOTvalid.   WRONG!  YOU are not providing me what your advertising and what you agreed to.  You have not reached out to me at ALL not once to try to retreat my property.   Your track record doesnt match your words.

      I wanted a one time extermination of wasps at my rental house. Hawx came out and did the job. I never met the employee that did the work. The company sent me an invoice to sign. I thought I was signed for the job done. What I unknowingly was signing was an agreement to a year long subscription. When I tried to get out of any more visits they want to charge me $253.11 to get out of the deal. I feel I was entrapped and grossly misled.
