1 starI wish I could give 0 stars. This is a TRASH company to deal with. The equipment doesnt work for me and they expect me to pay out of a contract that I NEVER signed for. Completely unacceptable service and they offer no help. I want to cancel my service because it doesnt work and we dont use it but they said we are accountable to pay off a contract. A contract I was not given notice about or signed for. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM COMPANY.Review fromPam J

1 starWORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!! ALDER SECURITY. No service since July 2022, now November 2022. They play games when you call them, transfer after transfer. I was told they don't have any Technicians in my area. Why solicit/sell a service for an area if there will not be any support? They want you to continue to pay for a non-service with the promise to reimburse you for the down-time. They have NOT been truthful so far so why should I believe them now.Review fromDonald H

1 starI recently contacted Alder about cancelling my services and was informed that I was in a contract. I was not aware I was in one, knowing that I had already been out of the initial contract for a few years. The rep I talked to (think her name was ****) on11/11/2022, informed me that I signed the contract to renew when the tech came to service my panel on 9/28/2022. This was not disclosed to me and what was explained to why I was signing. I have a video of the tech telling me that they wanted to lower my monthly cost because I had been a customer for so long and that nothing else would change with my account or services. Nothing was disclosed that it would also renew a contract for 60 months. He then asked me to sign on his phone, which I did based off what was told to me. Even after getting the phone, I did not see any other information in regards to what it was for, it was just a white screen for me to sign. In a sense, I was also pressured because he told me that I could only get that deal with him and that if I called in then they would not provide the discount.I am not at all pleased with how all this took place and it is bad business and practices to lead customers on, and Im sure against the law. Ive been in contact with several reps on the phone about getting the contract removed and all I get is that its being escalated or there is nothing that can be done since I signed the contract. When I following up on the escalation, no one can provide any type of update.Review fromRoger M.

1 starIm 70 years old and this is the most unprofessional company Ive ever done business with. Very poor communication problems. My complaint started last Dec of 2021. We needed service for our alarm system and called the office in ********** ** in our state. It took from Dec. 2021- May 16, of 2022 to get a representative to our home. By that time we had already disconnected the system.( because of all the alarms and messages that constantly kept disturbing, day and night) To make a LONG story as short as possible Ill do my best. After four written letters to **********,*******- ***** *******- ****** ***** and ****,**** (the home office) MANY phone calls to all these states. *** said this same message OVER AND OVER for nearly a year now. Telling them how they broke the contract they accuse me of. We NEVER missed a monthly payment to this company for MANY years on bank draft . On MAY 16th when the representative finally came I told him to take everything out of my house that ALDER put in and that it was already disconnected. He was exceptionally cordial and said ALDER doesnt want it . Its too old and outdated. We have already put in new systems since yours was installed. Those were exactly his words. On that day MAY 16, 22 (we had still kept paying every month) The last payment was First of MAY!! I told the Rep. THAT DAY that I was calling the bank and STOPPING the payment to ALDER. I did exactly that!!After that ALDER has harassed me over and over wanting payment. I even wrote the *** owner a letter in **** and explained all this. I now keep getting threatening letters of reporting me to collection agency. They are more interested in hurting good customers for money than keeping their end of the contract up in SERVICE. We have been very cordial to this company and if anyone owes money I could ask for five months of back pay from ALDER ( with documentation and witnesses of interruptions in our system for five months Dec-May . Please help stop this,Review fromBrenda H

1 starAlder alarm, is one of the worst alarm company I wouldn't recommend it to nobody. I signed up with them because my other alarm company went out of business. It started off okay. The next thing I know is that the alarm was going off at the dispatch and I didn't know anything about it. The police was coming to my house every time the alarm went off I live right off the highway. And when it got so bad the dispatch will call me to let me know it went off. My sister was my emergency contact she got tired of them calling her that she blocked the number. The straw that broke the camel back was this I am the only black woman in this surrounding community. When the officer came to my home this was the last straw not on my door and asked me if you could see my ID that was it that did it right there. So that put me in my family like we were in danger of living in the neighborhood because of us being the only black that lived within a hundred mile range I live in the country. My sister lived 2 hours away. I called them in May and told them to shut it off after they had kept on trying to troubleshoot it wouldn't do what it was supposed to do. I told them you have me and my family life at risk. I got a bill this Saturday November 12th 2022 saying I owe them $149 or else the service would be disrupt. The only thing is the alarm was shut off in May, and I got a copy of it from the police department from the dispatch when that alarm was shut off. So now they want to threaten to send my stuff to the collecting agency, and talking about my credit score being messed up. And I know without a shadow of a doubt alarm is supposed to protect you not have you and your family in fear. And I look outside and I got police all in the field with flashlights looking to find out who broke into the house and I'm in my home watching this. I got about four police cars and all my few little neighbors here is seeing this. So they tell me I signed the contract never signed it and my bank stopped payingReview fromKelly A.

1 starMy home security was through a local company contracted until 2020. Alder in 2019 bought that company and apparently renewed my contract claiming they had my approval even though it was 6 months before I knew they bought the company. We cancelled the service and sent back the equipment after the contract was supposedly up, we didn't know about a renewal. This year we see charges popping up for Alder security on our bank??? Contact them they said oh we see you cancelled but it was never finished because of the renewal I never agreed too. Now they want me to keep paying until **** for equipment and services I never agreed to.They are not approved by the BBB NEVER NEVER use this company they will rip you off. **************** barely speaks English and are anything but helpful they keep hanging up on me. Claiming they send new paperwork for cancellation yet never have, but I get that daily call about my bill with them hanging up when I start disagreeing with them. STAY AWAY!!!!Review fromEsmeralda H

1 starI was basically scammed into getting Alder as my alarm system, the salesman acted like he was with ADT only because he seen my signs in my yard then proceeded to tell me they were changing names and then he finally told the truth about who he was with and how much better his company was and it did sound good but it has been horrible from day 2, I have had the smoke detector go off for no reason at all, the panel never communicated with the alarm folks and they camera always said someone at my door when no one was outside. I have sent equipment back to them and they will not cancel my service even though I have talked to several people, all I get is you have to buy out your contract agreement which I NEVER signed a contract agreement and they have still yet to send me a signed copy of one. All I want is for them to stop harassing me about a payment that I don't owe them because they have all of the equipment back.Review fromKevin W

1 starI wish I would have done my due diligence when I chose this company. I just brought my house, and everyone is trying to get you to buy something, After speaking with the INTERNET service representative, she forwarded me to this company with praises. I have only been in my home for 4 WEEKS, I received the box, and I never opened it. I called them and told them that I am reconsidering, due to the high monthly premiums. The customer service represent told me if I reconsider my monthly cost will be lowered. We played phone tag for about a week ( mind you still unpacking boxes)!!! Finally today I took the time to call them and tell them I am NO LONGER interested, This rep. ****** that I would have to find someone to take over the contract or I will have to pay $2000.00, yes $2000.00. and I asked for what !!!! I have AN opened box IN MY GARAGE. they already charged my CREDIT card a total of ******. This company is a rip over, PLEASE STAY AWAY, I WILL FIGHT THIS TO THE END!!!!! PLEASE BE AWARE,Review fromJodie J.

1 starMy alarm was out of service for nearly 1 year. I called several times pertaining to this issue and was left with no service and a monthly draft of $40 recurring from my account. Once service was restored I asked for a prompt refund for all months down because they didnt provide me any service and I didnt agree to have a down time credit. Well this is where it gets sticky, they refused to refund me via check and they didnt have logs of my system going offline. So what are we dealing with here? This company is horrible and use tactics to bind you in a nonexistent contract that states anything near what youve agreed too in the beginning! Alder clearly drafted money from my account for a year $40.65 and I should have my money back! Weve had false alarms going for months beforehand that I repeatedly called them about, NOTHING! My spouse is within the home daily because of medical reasons and I depended on this company to have the easy access emergency panel for him. Nope! Not only did I have to use RING but they provided me with better customer care and called medics whenever it was a medical emergency. Also I was told by ALDER SECURITY that we dont issue refunds and if so itll take 60 days to get to you!!!! WHY??!!! You never missed a month of drafting $40.65actually its stealing or a scheme in my opinion. Lawfully if you dont provide a customer service under the agreement everything is null and void! I WANT MY MONEY NOW ALDER HOME SECURITY!!! YOULL ARE FRAUDULENT AND COULD NEVER SECURE A PET ANT FOR ME! BUYERS BE AWARE WHEN SHOPPING FOR A SECURITY COMPANY AVOID THIS COMPANY!They came across as a branch of ADT and later found out theyre not affiliated with them in any way! This company has hundreds of complaints surrounding similar incidents. Someone need to launch an internal investigation into their practices clearly theres something wrong with ALDER HOME SECURITY. Lastly this is by far the worse company Ive dealt with about my money! 0/5
