I was enjoying working out here with friends until it came time to cancel my membership. I had signed up knowing I had to go to school while I was in the 5th month of my membership. There isnt a Vasa Fitness location there but I thought Ill just call in and give my 30 day notice of cancellation the 5th month and pay the extra $10 for the 6th month to avoid the $25 cancellation fee. The membership cancellation page on ***** website states There is a $25 cancellation fee owed if you are canceling within the first 6 months. Id like to call attention to the word within. Mathematically the word within can be interpreted as less than, or less than or equal to. **** does not accurately clarify to their members or potential members which mathematical definition they are referring to. Having your membership cancel right after your 6th month of membership puts you right on the line of this agreement and they dont clarify whether we are playing basketball or soccer. Whether the line is in play of their $25 cancellation fee or outside it. Their website is trying to make me pay it and that is not fair business since it is not made known to the member if touching the line is in or out. After the cancellation fee along with the monthly and other side fees I will have paid around $35 a month for their cheapest membership subscription for 6 months. A better way of wording it would have been If you have not been a member longer than 6 months and cancel your membership, there will be an additional $25 cancellation fee. In the beginning I felt good but the end made me feel lied to and tricked. I tried messaging with customer ********************** about this but I didnt feel completely understood. She was polite and I understand customer ********************** is difficult but I was hoping shed be able to do something for me. At least make a change to the poor wording on your website so no one else makes the same mistake I made.VASA Fitness

the fact that they charge you a "yearly fee" three months after you join, without anyone mentioning this (its in the fine print I'm sure), and just taking it out of your account.. feels very much like a scam. Not something I have ever witnessed in any other establishment. Horrible business practice, and should be changed to be more transparent.VASA Fitness

The billing company used by **** continued charging me after I closed my account with them, due to over billing issues, actually. Because there was a guest attached to my account, even though none of their billing information was attached to the account, they refused to close it. Even though they had record of me closing it. I had to resort to blocking transfers of them through my bank. Please, dont give your business to these people. Give it to a company that cares about how they treat their customers.VASA Fitness

The person who chatted with me was awful. Poor customer **********************! They don't give any notice ahead of time of annual fee charges. My son was a minor when he signed up. He turned 18 in April and apparently, I'm still associated with his account and having to pay although he is an adult now and they should have changed the information. He is going off to college so I asked to cancel the account. They just charged me the annual fee, but he isn't going to need to use the fitness center any longer since he has use at college of one that is included in his fees. I asked for a refund of $49.99 (the annual fee) that was automatically charged because we don't need another annual membership and they REFUSED. ******! Poor business practice. They don't send any reminders like normal companies do of any withdrawals from your bank and also make it difficult to cancel. They overcharge everything, refuse to refund charges and make it difficult to cancel your membership. Their payments have to be linked to your bank account which worries me too. I want the annual membership fee refunded since we will not be using VASA any longer. Customer ********************** was very rude and refused to help me with this issue. They say they can't refund the membership fee when they just don't want to as it was JUST charged and I'm cancelling membership. Please refund the $49.99 and don't charge me any more fees. The people at the facility level are untrained in managing business, and consequently engage in fraudulent activities. They should not be allowed to engage in contractual arrangements. They play fast and loose with business practices. Unfortunately, the people in what you facetiously refer to as customer ********************** are very rude and uninvolved in, totally uninterested in improving the reputation of the entity.You wont always be able to treat customers in this ****************. The economy is making choices more thoughtful and more discriminating. I made the mistake of wanting to reactivate my account come to find out after the fact that there were pending charges that I was not ever aware of from before Even when I double checked my cancellation they didnt tell me! When I went to reactivate they added more money to my said bill. I was not informed prior about any of it and now they want to charge me over $100+. For wanting nothing with them in less than 24 hours no one is getting back to me on any of it. I have tried through text, email, chat and they conveniently either lose connection are too busy or dont call me back. I have never seen such terrible customer **********************. They will clear your bank account if they could. Horrible horrible experience. Go somewhere else!VASA Fitness

Talk about nickel and diming you! Their billing service, Paramoiunt Acceptance is the WORST to deal with. I made a request to put a 90 day freeze on my account as money was going to be tight this summer. There is a $10 fee for this...OK, whatever. I put in the request 10 days before the bill was due, they asked for me to confirm, I said yes. Then I told them I was going to switch my billing info, which I did again before the billing date. They STILL charged me the full fee, overdrawing my account. I called and was super calm and professional as I explained what happened. Was put on "hold" and was disconnected. I call back, and all of a sudden there is a high number of callers. I hold, but get cut off again saying they will call me back. No call back that day. No call back the next day. I call again, and get the same message that they will hold my place in line and call me back. NO CALL BACK. A week of this nonsense, and I finally get a hold of someone, only for them to tell me that because I did not confirm a 3rd time they would not be refunding my money or overdraft fee. I checked me email communication, and there was NO request for a 3rd confirmation. User beware- The gym is nice, but their back end is h*** to work with, and as I said before, ****** and dime you to death with their fees for EVERYTHING.VASA Fitness

If you dont know by now that **** is NOTORIOUS for signing you up and not cancelling and then trying to collect I guess youre the fool. They have sub par facilities, dirty equipment and yes theyre cheap but dont ever think youre going to cancel and not pay!!! They have sent at least 5 people I know personally to collections who cancelled including my teen son and my elderly father. PS we have perfect credit and pay our bills. Its the scam in the agreement you sign when you sign up that allows them to do this!!! Honestly people need to start talking about the scam that is **** and put them UNDER!!!VASA Fitness

Shady business. They get you signed up there are tons of fees. Gyms are over crowded and keep you waiting to use equipment the entire time you are there you share just idle waiting. Canceled after I wasn't never able to use equipment I went at least 20 times in a month and was able to work out less than 5 times. Charged a huge fee to cancel of $85.
