      I didn't believe some of the reviews about Carfax, claiming they change some Carfax reports, until I tried to purchase a car. I found out this car's report has all personal previews owners. I compared it to Been verified, which tells me it was a Leased car for 10 years! OMG, I can't believe it, to me this is a scam and they're getting away with it, not right!

      We bought a truck on April 2016, the CARFAX report for which read "no accident/damage" reported. Eight years later we go to sell the truck and the CARFAX report pulled up by the dealer notes a significant accident in January 2016 (three months before our purchase) with severe damage on all four sides of the truck and airbag deployment. This current report on the truck is significantly affecting our resale/trade in value. The dealership from whom we purchased the truck stepped in to investigate through their contact with Carfax and they only got a response that said "I have confirmed that this vehicle was determined to have an an estimate or repairs completed". It is my understanding we have a right to the documentation that Carfax claims supports the report (personal info redacted) and that affects the value of our property. Location of the shop that executed the repairs and specific dates would be helpful and telling. Certainly if Carfax able to respond to the dealership within a week confirming the accident, they should be able to provide us with that information also sooner than later. After four months of communication with Consumer Research and Carfax Research, the last reply I received was in May thanking me for my patience! Could it be they don't have any such documentation?

      I paid for a CARFAX report on a car I was very interested in buying. CARFAX sent me a receipt via my email with a link to the report. I used the link to view the report, signed in, and guess what? NO REPORT. Plus, in my account there is no record of me buying a report. I tried to contact CARFAX without any success so I used their website to try and get help but no help has been offered through CARFAX. The car I was very interested in will not last long on the market and I'm out of my $44.99 that CARFAX took from me trying to do an honest investigation before buying. CARFAX in my opinion is a fraud and I will seek other means to reimburse the money I paid them for a report with no report delivered.

      Dear CarFax Management,I am ****, the General Sales Manager at ******************************************* in ***********, ********. We have been a loyal CarFax customer for 13 years, investing approximately $780,000 to ensure accurate vehicle histories for our clients. Our dealership relies heavily on CarFax for dependable information, paying several thousand dollars monthly for your services.In January 2023, we sold a **** F-350 to a client, based on a CarFax report indicating a clean title. However, when our client attempted to register the vehicle in ******, they discovered it had been previously totaled. Understandably, our client was upset, and despite our best efforts to rely on CarFax, we were left in a difficult position.Our client provided supporting documents from ******, which we then shared with CarFax. Initially, CarFax indicated they would buy back the vehicle from our client. However, after two weeks of little to no support from upper management, we decided to repurchase the truck ourselves to uphold our dealership's integrity.Despite multiple attempts to reach out, including a brief interaction with **** (last name unknown), we have received no substantial assistance or follow-up. This lack of response is unacceptable and has significantly damaged our trust in CarFax, a company we have valued and relied upon for over a decade.To resolve this issue and restore our faith in CarFax, we request:1. **Full Reimbursement** for the repurchased vehicle.2. **Implementation of Corrective Measures** to prevent similar errors in the future.Our dealership has paid a significant amount to ensure we provide accurate information to our clients. We believe in the value of our partnership and hope CarFax will take immediate steps to address this situation.We look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution.Best regards

      Now they're sending emails saying the local dealership wants to buy my car. I've told the dealership to leave me alone. I'm not trading in.

      Carfax funneled me through 3 entities before I filled out a simple report using my vehicle VIN. In the bogus report from "Been Verified" it report false information on my vehicle. This impacts car sales and they should be stopped. I would give zero stars if I could.

      Resolution manager is zero help and couldnt provide me any evidence of my car being reported stolen. Other vehicle history reports were clear of this incident and CARFAX also took off two other errors for my car (another theft and auto recycler facility claim). I have used CARFAX in the past and they have been honest and helpful so not sure what the business is doing now. Putting erroneous claims on the reports and then telling the customers that ********************** is the proof and end of case. Terrible customer **********************.

      Paid for a Carfax on a car I was interested in. It asked me to create an account to see the report. I did, but there was no report! I contacted Customer support but got no answer. By this time the car was sold. I asked for a refund and got no answer. I would absolutely avoid Carfax!

      Paid for a carfax report on a car we were attempting to buy. Never received the report. I attempted several times to request the report or refund, and Carfax never responded. Ended up having to file a dispute against the charge through my bank.Very unprofessional service from Carfax.
